Once the rubber mold is cooked, the jeweler is cutting the mold with scalpel, to allow for the master form to come out from the mold and at the same time the mold has the same exact shape/ form as the master mold. This way we start the production of that specific design.

Thanks for this. The advantage of vulcanised rubber moulds is they last much longer than a cold cast mould. You can make a 2 part mould, but being able to cut a mould skillfully so that both parts true up nicely requires skill. Some people burn an entry hole, some sculp it at the end of the cut. This helped refresh my confidence. Thanks again.

Why do you leave the hole so small?

What was wrong or bad about the cutting technique?

agreed , . i molding bits half the size of my pinky nail..... i do like he did in this video , i don't get any issues. pouring 2 part resin.... now , i do add vents also...... that he doesn't have on his.. but he did cut those few reliefs to let the material flow..... and seamlines would be so thin can scratch off with fingernail.

Is the cutting done in such a way to prevent seams from forming in the future pour or injection?

If you mean the wild cutting after already splitting it in half, I think that's for runoff? I'm not sure what the hell he's doing that for, it'll cause problems with more seamlines.

Would I then pour molten metal or wax into the mold?

+mudpie gaming wax. you then make a plaster/investment mold with the wax, burn it out in a kiln, and pour metal into that

Just cutting like a crazy guy that's the first thing.
the way he cuts it makes for a lot of ridges that all need to be filled away or sawn of. Molds should be made so good that you just need too cut the casting branch, sand the whole piece a bit and polish, nothing more !
2nd instead of putting on a cone on the castin channel, he's just cutting it out a little bit, also the channel should be much widder on top. and allot of other mistakes. ..
