Isn't what you called "mold" on the new roots just root hairs? They are on new roots to increase surface area to maximize water and nutrient absorption.

Lena UwU he was a miniature mantis Male so he was tiny and he’s been dead for like two years, lived his lifespan of 8 months before passing he was a Malaysian Blue.
Lena UwU shortly after I got Manfrid my sister got an orchid mantis nymph called Manfrida and she died without explanation shortly after shipping ;(

It's not legal to have them in America because they are not a native species, in case you're in the USA

Second brocks comment. Thats root filaments. Its so humid that water will collect on them and they can drink via air.

This is awesome I want pet bugs but I’m a beginner so I don’t know what to start with
Gromphadorhina portentosa! a kind of hissing cockroach. get an adult male (dont get an adult female, good chance itll be pregnant and you dont want babies if its your first display tank lol) or get a couple nymphs (baby cockroach) and seperate them. they are super simple to care for, incredibly docile but interesting, easy to feed, and just a unique pet. ive loved them since i was a kid, started keeping them (and a couple other cockroaches...now im onto beetles and isopods!) as pets a few years back and idk how ive lived without them! such a good conversational piece to educate people about a misunderstood animal! i really highly recommended them!

Gently dab it with a tea towel and then simply pop it in a pot with a sheet off paper towel on the floor and monitor it for a few hours! Hope he gets better:)Xx
