    if you remove the ear pad and lift the foam pad you can see that where the down lead's cord comes into the headset, and is zip tied in place then hot glued, there is a plastic molding setup for a jack style connector along with a modular plug for the jack connector above the location the wires are soldiered to the pcb. there also seems to be another plug labeled R L G.
    best guess is that this same board is used in the M31 and that is for the 3.5mm headphone jack that located in the same hole that the down lead is in the m32 comes out of.
    i could not recommend it being possible for someone to put a 3.5mm plug in that space and attach a 3.5mm jack to the cable.

      I wouldn't want to modify the headset to make it happen. For it's cost, I don't think it would be worth it. Was just thinking out loud that a removable down lead would be nice! Great information though. Thanks for the input. Love comments like this!

    It's funny that you mentioned the mic being out of stock. Since I got my M32s back in the summer of 2021. Those mics have been out of stock til this day.

    • @CallMeColtLLC
      @CallMeColtLLC  11 місяців тому +1

      It's because they went almost right away to the MOD4 and those have been stocked. You can change over to the newer microphone type. I made another video about this.

      As I noted in the video, it took me a while to make the video and I did see the different microphone style on their site. My guess is that they have, as Earmor seems to really be trying to make a good name for themselves.

      I can see from the photos the
      mod 4 has Silicon tethers for the battery caps. & the updated microphone. Either way can’t go wrong for the price.

    Your review was great and one of the best I have come across.
    Question about the amplification, is it comparable to normal hearing (not wearing ear pro) or does it still generally reduce all noise? And can you have a conversation while speaking at normal or low volume with it on?

    • @CallMeColtLLC
      @CallMeColtLLC  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, you can talk to someone with it on. When I was saying it was quiet in the review, I mean that it was no very loud to overcome if you were in a consistent loud noise environment. But, you could still hear it. High end headsets get VERY loud, probably to the very limit of "safe" hear levels. Most people will be very pleased with these. Side note... the issue with the microphone I think we remedied. I got a replacement from CommGearSupply and am going to see if it can be installed so that my unit can get back up and running. I will make a follow-up video on this when I get a chance.

      @@CallMeColtLLC i bought the earmor and a disco32 and the mic does not transmit but the disco32 transmits. I contacted earmor and they said the disco32 doesn't work with their earmor m32. Did you have any experience with that, as i bought a amplified disco 32. Disco32 offered to send out a non amp ptt. Any thoughts on this or is it just a dead end and they are not going to be compatible like earmor said?

      @@rc-pm1fe You are running into the issue with the microphone type I talked about in the video more than likely. I have no experience with Disco32 PTT's directly, only some of their other products. You'll need to get with them to see what will work.

      @@CallMeColtLLC I ordered one of skyeyes amplified hirose qd ptt for my harris xg100p and had a M32 plus laying around, earmor said on their listing that the plus model has NATO wiring, I had made the assumption that NATO = amp'd and Civi = non amp. I lined the m32s into the ptt and plugged it into the harris and nothing happened when I hit the ptt button (on the u94) I then hit the ptt pad on the harris and it picked up the mic no problem and I could hear the receive audio from my P5400 in the headset. Is the mic on the m32 the wrong type, is it the amp ptt, or is it my 100p? I tried it on my xts2500 and another harris model still no transmit from the u94.

      @@Luke-we6id You have way to many variables going on there to know for sure. In my experience, Harris military radios will not work at all with a amplified PTT & will cancel out the microphone. Might be what's going on the the XG100P.

      @@the_young_misfits_8114Yes it's possible! Just use the right PTT which is the Earmor PTT. Or if you're okay with a lil soldering then the Ztac and other brands will work :D. You also want to buy ANOTHER adapter if your PTT is coming with a Kenwood (a 3.5mm and a 2.5mm) plug to a 3.5mm to your computer or Phone...
