Guys, if someone is wondering how to apply the graphite so smooth. He is using graphite dust and a make up sponge. I have tried this myself and got wonderful results.
@@SuperXrunner As an artist I appreciate more this kind of a drawing than a photorealism. It's just a personal tase. I think the general audience appreciates the hyperrealism more because they think that copying a photo accurately represents higher skill however they may just value realism more. But for me, this represents higher skill. It showes a new look and brings new value from the source material.
I have a new favourite art style. The ability to pause the video at any point beyond the first strokes and hang it up on a wall is utterly amazing to me. True skill.
That first 30 seconds is about the most bad-ass and implausible thing I've ever seen in a drawing video. That is wildly cool and inspiring as first steps go! Finished result is sexy cool mesmerizing.
This is absolutely mesmerizing to watch..the use of contrast to give it depth is surreal. Almost looks like a marble sculpture. What is the name of the Artist?
The real art here is all of us drawn into a conversation about it... I think the purpose of this piece was fulfilled... it got us talking... arguing exchanging experiences and ideas... hyper, low key, high key lighting, pencil or charcoal or oil ?... it really doesn't matter... just create 💪
This is the type of art I appreciate unlike hyper realitic and photorealism, I've got nothing against it but it doesn't involve much creativity which art is all about 💖
Absolutely wonderful! I'm learning so much from three different users of charcoal, and just by watching, I've picked up a lot of good techniques; as a result, my portraits and improved leaps and bounds in just three tries. Great stuff, you guys! This is so much better than hyper-realism, which I've personally never liked. Subscribed!
This conveys deep emotions. Beautiful work. I’ve been trying to decide what to do with the drawing. I’ve been anticipating of an angel and I think I’ve got my answer right here. Thank you so much I normally strive towards realism, but I just didn’t feel right about it for this drawing thank you for the teaching.
WOW! HOLY MOlY I have never seen this technique done before DIDN'T teach this in Art school. i have seen portrait results before but i didn't know how it was done. thanks for sharing i will incorporate this technique into my repertoire. Maestro!
It is indeed a work of art as well as the realistic/hyperrealistic drawing. I am a realistic artist and i appreciate all kinds of art. I'm on my way to learn this technique too. Sure we know that using camera is easier and quicker than drawing realistic when it comes to making the same result.
Just before the end the contrast got significantly stronger. Did you go back over to darken areas or was this just the camera colour/white balance changing?
If you compare the drawing marks beetween the two versions you can see that the artist actually pushed the drawing further, refined it and added dark accents.
masterclass skill indeed its amazing how he just use a blending stump out of this, about that red thing I think it's a cloth or an eraser he just dip it with charcoal powder just like his blending stump. amazing techniques so dreamy and inspiring
Buenísimo trabajo. Lo malo es que no se de quien es el dibujo. Me gustaría seguir los trabajos de la persona q lo realizó. Who did this work? Please, can you tell me?
It's a beautiful piece but I never saw the tools you advertise. It appears that you use a blending stump with charcoal on it for the most part and occasionally, what looked like a pen or mechanical pencil with a blue top.
What is the red tool you use at the very start, to apply those very subtle smudges, please? The tool before you begin using the paper baton. Beautiful work. I have tried using a make up foundation sponge with charcoal dust on newsprint, and it doesn't seem as soft and subtle as your marks here.
Only use newsprint paper when you’re warming up. When working with charcoal, I find it best to use good quality toned drawing paper. Newsprint is too flimsy and doesn’t work well when you go back and forth with layering your charcoal. Use slightly thicker paper like drawing paper rather than sketch paper or newsprint bc the quality of the paper affects how it takes the pigment and the overall result. If you’re not sure about their differences look up a UA-cam video :))
From the start I never stop smiling...shading all around as if nowhere to go ....then as it goes on you can see the shadow then a picture and refining ....realistic photo and in bw done in charcoal
This technique is amazing ..I love it....Even though your title says "Realistic Portrait Drawing with Charcoal Pencil"..you only used the pencil at the end for about 10 seconds maybe. What are you using I just have to know. Its the most amazing approach to portraiture sketching I've ever seen..Please you must share ....are you using compressed charcoal powder or vine charcoal residue with the tortillion (stump)..and what are you using for the initial block in..it looks like some sort of round sponge blotter...please share
it is a blender sponge , females use them to put on pancake makeup , have you ever considered using a hog bristle brush , and powdered charcoal , it smooths so evenly and a kneadable eraser , I also have a black eraser that is amazing .

indeed it does, its more than just pasting it on a paper in black and white, its pure creativity

Stunning! I am never been so impressed with a demonstration or the results. Thank you.
That's such an unique way to manage the technique, it looks so smooth contrary to the rough texture I get
Im definitly gonna steal that technique :D That is so genius. Im charcoal sticks always break so this is perfect.

I really don’t understand how charcoal can draw so cool!!!

You could do this anytime in Human history, and people would be amazed just like today.
I like your way to portrait people, making the general shape first and then the details later step by step like carving sculptures.
That's genius, it looks like you're using a beauty blender on the base smudges at the beginning!
Is that what that is? I didn’t know? Does it ever make the shadows soft tho..
what is the material used in the first 25 seconds? that red thing and having those soft procreate brush type of fillings?

The drawing made on a 3D computer can never reach the PASSION it feels when drawing on paper or painting on canvas...
It can, but you can have your opinion.
