Alphasonik also offered a rack system with built in fusing and mounting grommets for the amp feet and wiring. I owned the rack, a PMA2050 and PMA2100 amps. Looked great but, wasn't particularly impressive as I recall.
I owned the PMA-2150 class A Alphasonik amp back in 1992. Beautiful sound because of it being class A, but it ran hot. Having sold Alphasonik in the early '90s, I would guess that amp would make rated power but not much more when new. The PMA series was a huge improvement over the MA series, which would self destruct at anything less than 4 ohms.
Maybe get it recapped and see if it does a little better? These were good amps back in the day. Lots of guys were running them. Their address is 3130 West 15th Ave Hialeah, FL 33012 Which also comes up as the address for Orion. I didn't know they had anything to do with each other? Big D this week has been great but also depressing. I just don't see many young people into systems anymore. Last month I picked up a kicker 4 channel amp and was talking to one of the guys that worked there, and I asked if he ever gets to install big systems anymore. He told me they don't install amps that much period. Most installs were cameras and remote start. Why have people become satisfied with stock audio? They still suck compared to aftermarket.
Big Deee i really don't think that amp got a fair shake and realy do you? I can see caps swollen and it could be leaking!!! I think it needs to be looked at again in the future cum on guys help him out thanks Big D!!! Love it though!!!!
Very disappointing, was expecting a little more. But it does seem to slap that little sub around pretty good. And in some cases that brown glue can become slightly conductive and cause some problems.
The amplifier needs a recap for sure .Tiers capacitors are a huge issue .Sometimes absolutely nothing wrong with transistors /fets but capacitors have an average ge of only 5 year life span
So just look at that, single sided board🤮 looks better organized than that over priced pile of Massachusetts caca. Every alphasonic I sold ran hot which equals inefficientsy. Thankfully I only placed a minimum order one time. Coustic was my economy brand of choice.
Amps back then didn’t need to be power houses because the subs were more efficient. You also didn’t need a 300 amp alternator and multiple batteries in your daily. It was just a different time.

Cut the domes off and tell me
I’m wrong 😂
Having sold Alphasonik in the early '90s, I would guess that amp would make rated power but not much more when new. The PMA series was a huge improvement over the MA series, which would self destruct at anything less than 4 ohms.
efficiency is telling me it may have dryed up capacitors in the supply
Where's the guy that swears he hit 150db with this amp? hahahahaha. Old bass heads always have their stories. I know, I'm 52
No different than the old "race" car drivers that swear up and down their old 340 made 400 horsepower stock.
FLEA MARKET SPECIAL !!!
Hollywood sound labs and LA sound.
I think the zapco dealer carried these.
I always thought these were made by PPI ..
Shit bro I have an old working Coustic 380 on the shelf if you wanna dyno that 😂
Big Deee i really don't think that amp got a fair shake and realy do you? I can see caps swollen and it could be leaking!!! I think it needs to be looked at again in the future cum on guys help him out thanks Big D!!! Love it though!!!!
My guess is 130wRMS per channel
Very disappointing, was expecting a little more. But it does seem to slap that little sub around pretty good. And in some cases that brown glue can become slightly conductive and cause some problems.
Where is the beef?
The amplifier needs a recap for sure .Tiers capacitors are a huge issue .Sometimes absolutely nothing wrong with transistors /fets but capacitors have an average ge of only 5 year life span
I can honestly say this was poorly manufactured. Toroidals were very loose and always shorted out causing serious damage.
Being single sided pcb, makes it worse with large components such as rail caps and toroidals.
👍🆙️🙋♂️
Super Korean! LOL Decent budget amps though
highschool algebag.. what?
So just look at that, single sided board🤮 looks better organized than that over priced pile of Massachusetts caca.
Every alphasonic I sold ran hot which equals inefficientsy.
Thankfully I only placed a minimum order one time.
Coustic was my economy brand of choice.
Used to buy some never a great amplifier on any of Alpha sonic stuff overpriced
Amps were so bad back in the day, compared to today
Amps back then didn’t need to be power houses because the subs were more efficient. You also didn’t need a 300 amp alternator and multiple batteries in your daily. It was just a different time.
No one bought Alphasonic. Just skipped right past to Rockford or Orion etc.
I bought one in 1990…PMA-2100 just not the ix model
These amps were cheap for a reason.
Amplificatore costruito con i piedi purtroppo, un vero cesso
