Hi Dave, very nice beads👍I really like your idea of reinforcing the leaf spring bracket with angle. Our generator got a nice little workout. We were without power for a day and a half. Looking forward to your "family visit " video 🍻 Ben
Good Evening Sir, thank you very kindly for your nice words and I'm very happy that you are doing very well ( nice workout with your generator !!! ) Yes Marie Ange and I did a small video😇👍Have a safe week Sir and I can't wait to see your video too Sir Cheers 👍👍😇😇🍻🍻

Bonsoir Luc, yes in deed mon ami start your generator and put a good load on it for at least a good 20 min, doing the maintenance ( oil and fuel change and oil the piston ring and close the intake and exhaust valves on the compress stages of the 4 strokes ) and doing it every year ( that is the secret Luc !!! ) Yes I'm thinking very much about it ( using the chimney !!! ) Merci et bonne semaine a vos deux Cheers 🍻🍻
Good Evening Sir, sometime the generator voltage and current regulators are not well set up for these ( various factors ) if I want my compressor to start I have to keep my generator on full RPM with a load on it in order to overcome the electrical initial surge coming from the electrical engine of the compressor 💪👍👌😇Thank You Again Sir and have a nice hunting season sir Cheers 🍻🍻

Hello David, I should get my generator out as well. I run it only on Propane, but the onboard battery needs to be charged and I haven't done so in a long time so I'm sure it's dead. I'll be doing a garage seasonal swap-over soon as well. Nice stick welding. Have a good day my friend.

Good Evening Sir, Thank you very kindly for your nice words of support Sir ( Yes I'm feeling much better ) doing to work on my chimney tomorrow !!!😇👌👍💪
Hello Super Duper Dave! I hope you are feeling better for your huge party. WHAT PARTY? You say. The party we are all throwing for you when you reach 1000subs!!!! When I'm writing this you have 11 to go. Way to go buddy! I still have a long way to go. The Honda generator can't be beat. The welder works great too. Great welding my friend. With the chock on is not good. That metal on the trailer looks pretty thin. I would use some empty Big J's bean cans to reinforce that broken spring on your trailer. This means I would have to eat lots of beans to get the cans empty which in turn would have me sleeping on the couch this week. Have a great visit with your family.
Good Evening John, I'm feeling much better ( so much that I'm starting working on my roof tomorrow !!!! ) That will be 1k of good friends like you are mon ami 👍😇👌 You will be reaching that mark too very soon John 😇👍 Yes Honda and Lincoln Electric are Truly OUTSTANDING 👍😇👌💪 Yes I have the tendency to forgot the choke !!!! 🥴Yes the metal is pretty too tine ( I will make it stronger on each side !!! ) No NO NO use of your Big J's bean, It will detonate my RV and Relocate it in various pieces across town 🤣👍 Yes It was Truly an OUTSTANDING time have my family up here, Marie Ange and her gentleman Farmer Boy friend visit for the very first time a true RCAF Base and My Squadron ( 425 TFS ) and they all love it my mom read all the history of the squadron and my step dad asked me many technical question about the CF 18 as a diesel generator mechanic, Thank You John and have a very nice Week Cheers 🍻
I was living in Quebec during the 1998 ice storm and had no power for 11 days. My wood stove did keep us warm 😁. You rarely see above ground power lines in Calgary, as they bury them. I had no doubt that the Honda would start on the first pull 👍. Man, the welder sure put a load on that generator. It ran much better once you adjusted the choke. Your welds looked pretty good. If you have the room, weld the crack on you suspension and them weld a splice over it., because the problem with welding thinner material, is that it heats and weakens the steel next to the weld and is then prone to cracking. A splice mitigates the risk of that happening. Bon weekend Mon ami.😁👍🍻
Good Evening Sir, ( ho boy that bring me a lots of memory ( ice storm ) !!! Thank You Very Kindly Yes that Honda is marvelous !!! Yes the generator has is work out accomplish when I use it for welding 🧐👌👍 Yes OUTSTANDING suggestion mon ami for sure I will do two pass on each side and then I will a angle iron over it to get larger material to put the stress to a larger surface too 👍👌🧐💪 Thank You again and have a nice week too Sir Cheers mon ami 🧐👌👍🍻

That is a nice generator, Dave. Honda makes good products. I have a Generac generator. It starts on the first pull, too. You have a good idea with the angle iron. That should help.
Good Evening Sir, Yes that Honda Generator is more than around 13 yrs old now,,, and it is working very well 👍👌😇Generac make very good generator too Sir, that angle iron will help for sure and thank you again Sir ( hope that bump that you have made with your MF tractor held against all that water Sir on you last video ) 🙏🙏🧐🧐 Cheers 🍻🍻

Barb and I are looking into getting a solar generator to run things in the daylight. I think we have some really hard times coming ahead of us here. With the fuel in the barrels and the tractors being kept full of fuel, and I have a number of them that can run the generator, I can run around the clock for more than 6 months.
That Solar Generator is a very nice option since they are getting better and better over the years 🧐👌👍You are pretty much very well Ready Sir ( like a good military member that you are Sir !!! ) Thank You again Sir Cheers 🍻🍻
Good Evening Sir, I'm very happy that you are doing very well ( THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR OUTSTANDING SUPPORT SIR ). My father was a trade school teacher and he was teaching welding and his brother is a full qualify welder by trade and so my brother Remy is too,,,, So I never went to trade school for learning welding ( I went to learn Aero Technician ( Electrician, Engine and Life support ) but in my family, I'm surrounded by Welders, Telephone Line Man, Loggers and Sciences, so you can guess what was a topics during family reunions, ( what was the best welders, welding rods, Line Man tools, Chainsaw at the time, or research, or farming tractors, ) !!! You will love going to a trade schools adult course on evenings Cheers 😇😇👌👌👍👍🍻🍻
Four days after we moved in the hurricane hit, we had to evacuate for a week. I didn’t have the house ready for a generator yet… but it is now. Hoping we can slow down and take it easy now. Great to see the generator in action. I need to run mine too. Have a great one my friend 👍👍
Do you drain your fuel from the generator when you store it? I do and I also leave it open to flash off in the sun because im worried I wont use it for over a year.
Good Evening Sir, I keep My Generator Fuel Tank Maximum FULL LEVEL since a full tank will not corrode at all, but I do drain the sediment bowl under the shot off valve and I drain the carburetor bowl and I oil it the plugger see that video ua-cam.com/video/xEicAzZSouY/v-deo.html I use my generator often for outside welding, ( I oil also the fill up cap !!! ) Thank You Very Kindly Mon Ami Cheers 😇👍🍻
Comment ca va mon ami? It's a good plan to get access to the generator. During Hurricane Lee last weekend we lost power for 48 hours and my generator was needed because the 1st thing to happen is the power goes out!! Nice welding. You made a nice bead without too much penetration. It looks like a good setting for doing the repair on the RV. I hope you can get past this cold Dave as it seems to really like you and is sticking around!! LOL Get well soon and a la prochaine!!
Bonjour Mon Ami, Thank You Very Kindly For Your Very Nice Word and Information about how you deal with that bad Hurricane ( You are fully qualify Sir !!! ) Yes That Is Why I needed practice in order to fix that RV having it at that settings. Yes I'm doing much better but still under the cold syrups and pills ( full rest time for an other 12 hrs !!!! ) doing home work studies and it is raining heavily right now 🥴Bonne Semaine a vos deux Cheers 👌👌😇😇👍👍🍻🍻
Looks like your having fun! 2 things for you. Do you know about running only high test gas in any small gas engine with a carburetor? Ethanol in other grades of gas is very hard on a carburetor. The other thing, have you heard of GenerLink? I have lots of power failures around here. If you have the same issue you might want to look them up. Cheers!
Good Morning Sir, I'm only using High Octane Gas with proper fuel preservative since the last 13 yrs but because of the USELESS politicians that we have they obligated to have ethanol into High Octane now,,, 😤and Up Here they do not have access High Octane like Petro Canada have 94 (Super Premium). I use that have access when I was living in the Easter Township at Shefford ( Waterloo, PQ. ). Yes I totally agree with you Sir about these generlink but these are so crazy very expensive switches but since I'm aircraft electrician Sir I'm doing it myself... I was suppose to do a video on how I run my house with my generator but time is very short with my squedule and I do not have power failure like I use to have when I was living the last 12 yrs near Montreal and Eastern Townships 😇👍 Thank You Very Kindly For Your OUTSTANDING informative feed back comment Sir and have a nice week Cheers 🍻🍻
@@RCAFpolarexpress , it used to run the whole farm. Ran the milkers for the dairy cows, the milk pipeline, and bulk cooling tank. It pumped water for all the cows and hogs from the 816 foot deep well. It could run every light and every appliance on the farm all at the same time. At times, it had to.
Hi Dave. I enjoy watching your videos as I also have a Emax 20 and the TYM T25 and the Cub Cadet I restored 31 years ago..My question is, what do you use to tow your camper? lol just been wondering..
Good Morning, thank you very kindly for your OUTSTANDING support and kind words and subs my humble channel 👍👌😇 We are not a lots of Mahindra owner and Thank You Very Kindly ( You should do a video about your Two OUTSTANDING tractors !!!! ) I use to have a B 350 1985 Dodge Royal Ram Van but it was time for me to rent when I need and after 7 yrs doing it, I made the right choice ( I only use perhaps 2-3 week per year my RV !!! ) and I do travel with it. Perhaps when I retired from the service my need will change and I will need again a truck but for now my trusty Toyota Corrolla and my trailer is doing OUTSTANDINGLY Very Well and much cheaper to run ( licensing, maintenance and insurance !!! ) Thank You Again Cheers 🍻
No matter how the sparkplug may look after this, I would go buy a new plug and change it out right now. ( That run time with full choke did nothing good for the condition of the sparkplug. ) David, is that generator able to run the welder at full amp output? One note on your plans for an extended exhaust pipe, maybe you should check with Honda folks and ask about this. I have heard of overheating the engine because of a long exhaust pipe. The long ( not standard ) exhaust stack can cause overheating of the exhaust valve / cylinder head. It can be done, but be very careful of the exhaust pipe diameter requirements, again, check with Honda.
Good Morning Sir, thank you very kindly for your outstanding support 👍👍😇😇👌👌 I sincerely do not understand but each time that I run my generator I remove the sparkplug for oiling the top piston rings and the chamber and that sparkplugs is brown chocolate clean and it is not the very first time that I forgot to do that ( Could you believe that I have the same spark plug since brand new,,,13 yrs,,, but I have perhaps only around 500 hrs of hard work max,,, but I will take your advice and I will change it today !!! Yes I totally agree with you since the back pressure can burn the exhaust valve and that is why I want a much bigger diameter exhaust pipe so no restriction can occur and that pipe is not getting connected into muffler, I want an air space so ram air can coming from that air space and can cool and regulate the air pressure. Now, that generator can run on 100% output of 5500 W. So I can run it about half of the amps ( the welder at full AMP will need 50 amps at 220 V so a 11000 W generator at 100% is needed ) but I'm using half ( 25 amp x 220 V = 5500 Amps ) but I'm using smaller 1/8 so I can run a little bit over but again my welder is not a 100% full cycles but using 1/8 I can almost run it at 100% full cycles since I'm not going over 60%. The generator can have 6500 w for a short period but I rather by safe and like you can see the arc was very good and also the welding bed and the quality of the stick rods too as to be token into consideration and the type of steel too. When I need bigger welder bead or more deep penetration's. I do more welding pass. Honda does make a bigger 10 000 W generator that even John Deere buy from them !!! but that is way to much for me at this time beside I'm very happy with my generator, I was able to have my water running, hot water tank working and plenty of lighting and even doing power management I had the washer and after the dryer working too !!! I did not had the choice I had 3 women inside the house ( My ex Italian wife her daughter an Marie Ange ) and me at the end of the line servicing that generator ( oil change every 24 hrs ) and fresh Super High Octane fuel 👌👌😇😇👍👍 Thank You Again and I hope that answer your question and thank you for the advice Sir Cheers 🍻🍻
@@RCAFpolarexpress You have it well covered then David! 'You're more than a pretty face, aren't you Hahahaha! Good point especially on large diameter exhaust tube /. pipe to chimney too, that should work. Looks like you 'did your homework' on correct sizing for your generator. When we sold/serviced gen-sets, we always asked the customer to tell us the watts or amps of all the equipment he wanted to run or power up, and advised them from those calculations. Just as a note here, we also replaced the sparkplug at each year's servicing of our customer's gen-sets, to avoid any possibilities of issues later. All the best of good wishes David.
@@regsparkes6507 Ho Boy, me a pretty face Sir🤣👍 I grew up with generators and welders and I work with them all my life and on the top of that, my step dad Denis is a fully generator technician for keeping me up informed too and My Uncle Yvan is a fully qualify welder by trade👍👌😇 So you can imagine what is the subject during family reunions 🤣🤣👍👍Yes spark plug's, airlifters' and oil change's ( synthetic ) are the vital factor as long that you put a very good load yearly with them and keep them as dry as possible too and full tank ( High octane fuel ) so no corrosions inside the fuel tank will occur ( purging the sediment bowl is very important too ). Yes I agree about the sparkplugs Sir ( me bad !!!! ) 🤣🤣👍👍 All the best to you my friend 👍👍😇😇👌👌🍻🍻

Good morning Dave.
11 away!!!
Good Evening Sir, Yes in deed 11 mores friends to makes 😇😇👍👍👌👌🍻🍻
Hope you guys don’t loose power ! We are lucky we don’t get to many bad storms in our are
Good Evening Sir, thank you very kindly for your OUTSTANDING support to our Maritimes Good Folks 👌👍😇🙏🙏 I think that sometimes you have very nice winter snow storm 🤔🤔Thank You Very Kindly Sir and have a nice week Cheers 🍻🍻
@@RCAFpolarexpress we do sometimes last year was one of the most mildest winters on record, which was nice for us. Haha. Have a good week, sir.
@@fatefarmspa Thank You Sir, Cheers 👌👌👍👍😇😇🍻🍻
Barb and I are looking into getting a solar generator to run things in the daylight.
I think we have some really hard times coming ahead of us here.
With the fuel in the barrels and the tractors being kept full of fuel, and I have a number of them that can run the generator, I can run around the clock for more than 6 months.
That Solar Generator is a very nice option since they are getting better and better over the years 🧐👌👍You are pretty much very well Ready Sir ( like a good military member that you are Sir !!! ) Thank You again Sir Cheers 🍻🍻
Hey Dave. Those Honda generators are great. I always wanted to learn how to weld, it's on my bucket list.
Kenny
Ho boy, that must a been a stressful time 😮but you are now ready !!! You too have a great week end Sir and thank you very kindly Cheers
It's a Honda, lol. Hope you feel better Dave
Thank You Very Kindly Sir, Thank You Very Kindly ( GOING TO SEE YOUR OUTSTANDING VIDEO SIR RIGHT NOW !!! ) Cheers 🍻🍻
Great video Dave,,,have a good day
Thank You Very Kindly Mon Ami and have a safe diving week Sir Cheers 👌💪😇🙏🍻
I guess that I should add that my generator is a 15,000 watt pto generator
Ho boy, a 15 000 watts generator,,, you can run the ALL HOUSES AND THE REST OF Yours STREET WITH THAT BIG BOY Sir 😇😇👍👍💪💪🤣🤣🍻🍻
@@tractortalkwithgary1271 That is a true Generator Central Power 😇😇👍👍👌👌🍻🍻
( That run time with full choke did nothing good for the condition of the sparkplug. )
David, is that generator able to run the welder at full amp output?
That is a really nice generator 😃 Looking like you need to think about a 1K sub video soon 😃
