    I need a new generator! It is not something we think of until we need it. Honda makes the best stuff ever. Good gas is important for small engines. Sometimes I can make enough from eating Big J's beans but I still have to buy some. So folks; when Dave retires he will have a mobile service truck. On the side of the truck will be DAVE'S TOTAL MAINTENANCE SERVICE. Don't be surprised if he shows up at your house! Great video!!!

    Honda makes some of the best, most reliable and quietest generators on the market. I remember visiting my uncle in Florida about five years ago and he asked me to look at why his generator would not start, as they were expecting a bad hurricane season. It turns out that he kept adding gas to the tank when it would evaporate. He did that for six years in a row. That gas that evaporated, left a gummy dark brown gum in the tank and carburetor. I had to take the tank and carburetor off and completely clean them. Once that was done, it started immediately. Happy Sunday my friend 🍻😁👍

    Sir, that was an excellent video. Very informative for both experienced and newbie generator owners. Honda products are pricy but then they are extremely reliable. My 1st two videos were on a generator that I bought. My generator does not require any grounding according to the manufacturer. Yes, read your manual, too many people don't. Super safety tips to be 3 feet away from flammable and in a well vented area. I think your spark plug was tight because the engine was hot and it expanded. My wife said, "what did he say" when you tightening the oil drain plug, we both laughed 😆 Great tip to put the piston head at the top of the cylinder, many don't know to do that. Great idea to connect to the house with either a transfer switch or an interlock kit, good by to extension cords. If your generator is not an inverter generator make sure you have some time of surge protection when connecting to the house. Haven't a great day Sir!

    • @RCAFpolarexpress
      @RCAFpolarexpress  2 роки тому +1

      Good Day to both of you, Thank you very kindly for your OUTSTANDING supportive positive feed back comment 😇👌👍 The main reason for my generator is in link of the GFCI but you will have a great safety option to connect yours too for protecting your generator from bad ground coming from either the electricity service or bad electrical items connected to your generator 👌😇 Ho darn, you can see my dark past ( I completed my English learning experience among technicians in the RCAF ! ) What as save me, is going to church every Sunday and various teaching positions ( Boot Camp, Life Support Trades and Language School ) but sometimes it surface back for some reasons,,, 😢🤣👌 I do receive daily forgiveness from my Officer, since I do drop one or two bad words when I'm emotional🤣😇👍 Yes I always install a GFCI breaker with a separated ground rod near the generator so the generator is protected against but with all the safety steps that I do before connecting I'm on business. You can Read the Comment that I left with Jan Kotze on how I do it. SO HAVE AN OUTSTANDING DAY AND WEEK END to both of you 🤣👌👍😇Cheers 🍻🍻

    What a video Dave, well done, lucky you don't stay in South Africa, my 5.5 Kva generator runs at least 10 hours a month due to load shedding, I service it at intervals of about 50-70 hrs, and never drain the fuel out because I use it so much, I think mine have in the order of 400 hrs on and runs like new, mine is a electric start and I replaced the original battery in 2019, if you have time one day I would like to see how you connect it to your house, I switch off the main circuit breaker, switch off the geyser and stove on the DB board and plug the generator in a wall socket in the house and feed the refrigerators and lights from there, I know it is wrong but would like to see how do you do it

    • @RCAFpolarexpress
      @RCAFpolarexpress  2 роки тому +1

      Good Morning Sir, ( THANK YOU VERY KINDLY FOR YOUR OUTSTANDING INFORMATIVE COMMENTS SIR 😇👍👌 ) Now that is a trusty generator that you have and you are doing truly an OUTSTANDING maintenance Sir 😇👍Ok, I will do a video about it but you can look at that video an my former house ( ua-cam.com/video/BpSUx3U-nGY/v-deo.html ) Ok, so basically I do the same than you: 1 Step: I close the main breaker of the house were the electricity arrive ( VERY IMPORTANT TO DO ) , 2 Step: I turn off all the breakers on the main circuit breaker panel that I do not want to feed, 3 Step: I close the breaker of the garage / shed were my generator will be connected on both panel ( house and garage/shed ), 4 Step I connect the generator to connector that I install ( see the video ), 5 Step: start the generator and turn on the breakers of the generator and then the garage/shed panel, 6 Step: I go inside my house for turning the garage/shed breaker on, then the generator is feeding my house with the breaker that I left turned on. Once the electricity is back or when I have to service ( oil change and refueling ) I do the opposite. On the Garage /shed electrical panel, I do install a GFCI breaker that I connect to separate outside ground rod that I also use to ground my generator ( VERY IMPORTANT! ). Sir It is nothing wrong what you are doing Sir since the most important step is ( 🚧🚧TURNING OFF THE MAIN BREAKER🚧🚧 ) since that breaker allowed the service electricity that you pay to come inside your house and that service when is down it could be ( ON ) very fast and you need to turn it ( OFF ) since you could fry yourself when working on your generator or your generator will fry even if it is breaker protected or GFCI protected. Here in North America our house electricity is on 120 V, 60 hertz and in Europe is 230 V 50 Herts is it true that you are running like in Europe ? Hope That help for now and 🚧🚧KEEP UP YOUR OUTSTANDING videos Sir 🚧🚧👍👍😇😇👌👌🍻🍻

I have the exact EB6500X but oddly don’t have a sediment glass bulb for fuel under the fuel shutoff and my GFCIs are under just one, not individual ones like you have, that you would see on a standard wall mounted one.
      I would love to see you hook your house up. I live in the US (Tennessee) and I use this once or twice a year with power outages from severe weather. Do other odd jobs on my 50 acres I own. Unfortunately I have to run extension cords for the house and would like to have a permanent hook with a designated box for it.
