@@justascarecrow6988 two soulslingers and a blademaster is the way to go. No tank in your team can take that damage output the boss has. It isn't going to cheese the fight for you, but you can beat the bastard on your second run. And for Christ's ehm I mean for Mother's sake, spread out the gang as far as you can.
Discovered this game was amazing. Lower level classes limit options available to you. Higher level Daughters can annihilate the surgeon. Blademasters shine to backstab him but you have to position carefully. THat's the Phase 3 transition, when the boss is at %20 health. Typically if you made it this far you can beat the boss. For me, when I first beat him, that transition occurred after the first attack in the round that I decided to go full-offense to try and take him down. That was my cue to unleash hell and abandon all thought of defense, the music swelling triumphantly as my Soulslinger fired shot after shot into him, securing victory despite horrific damage.
It would lose its significance and get old quick. I’m glad it’s for the first boss only. It’s a good way for the game to help set what kind of tone it’s all about for beginners.
I just got to the 2nd Boss (and got beaten), the music during it was...lackluster to say the least. This theme rocks though, was hoping every boss would have their own great theme.
@@KadSkirata What unique Memory does the 2nd Boss give again? I can't see any reason to ever skip the Surgeon, since his unique Memory is so funny to put on a shieldbearer's tanking skill, as it keeps stacking 400 armor every attack coming their way. When I first played this boss it was awesome . He was second phase all 3 of my daughter's one of each class 2 of them was level 3 and the last was level 4. All of them are one hit and this is when I figure out when you attack the boss he does a counter for about 200 hp. The boss is about to die but is doing an aoe which does over 1000. I accept defeat and hit the boss with my level 4 character named Temperance with her sword, the boss goes for a counter to my 49hp character. Then my level 3 character felicity protects my character with her inturupt and kills the boss. The move I totally forgot about saved my whole team.
Dude i had almost the same situation only difference my shield daughter survived with 46 hp and i could weaken him enough from distance that my sword i could kill him all my daughters ended up with less than 150 hp that was so damn epic it felt like a real win i didnt feel in a while.
unfortunately they nerfed his difficulty a ton, it was so satisfying finally getting to his final phase and turning the tide and those vocals kicks in out of nowhere
Recently fought Surgeon for the 2nd time, and my team killed him so fast the music didn't have a chance to kick in :C 3x Soulslingers 3x Leader trait 3x Shadow Round Never stood a chance.
Just defeated him with my brilliant 3rd Squadron. I was much better prepared than the first time, but still, that dude is fucking scary once your shieldbearer gets "treated" to absolute BUTCHERY every time she dares slam the surgeon.
I love how badass the 3rd phase kicks in... Which is a shame for people running at it around 4th or 5th recollection, when your lvl 11 Shieldbearer leaps behind the Surgeon, and your lvl 13 Blademaster just bitchsmacks him into oblivion with one single backstabbing Imbued Blade from 100 to 0 xD (Yes, I know you can skip eras. I just enjoy the broken grind.)
I hate that the Surgeon had the best boss theme, i was dissapointed by the rest of them, not that they were bad, but my expectations were too high after the surgeon
When it is your first recollection and you are feeling a bit confident fighting his Caretakers with ease but as the last one falls, Phase 2 music kicks in. You know you are in trouble right away.
Solid game, but a bit repetitive 6\10, theme and mood where amazing 9\10, soundtrack fucking amazing 10\10. This game is absolutely worth the money you spend on it
dam this music is realy epic at the phase 3 i realy want it likt 3d action game, sort of dark souls with corrected mechanicks, with this music during boss fight)
holy hell i defeated him last night and when it went into second phase it felt more like that moment in media when the protagonists get the upper hand and my Daughters absolutely bullied him, killing him just as the vocals kicked in
Belle ...a matyr...always on the front line as a shield bearer protected her other Sisters... Constance...humble...a very good soulslinger. Always there to guide the and protect her Sisters from a distance.. Miracle...the scythedancer...despite being the last most of the time...she always stood ground and cleared all those monsters obstacles for her Sister to break through...even at the thickest line of defense. Felicity...the blademaster...brave but can be very reckless...always rushed into the battlefield...but at the same time...she always does her best to protect her Sisters. These were my best Daughters in the game...despite they died few times...and I had to restart all over again just to get better at it...
Just have finished a fight with this dude. First run, first battle, took my best Daughters. Instantly I got this "you're fucked up" feeling when I saw what the heck Caretakers were doing. Still got them all killed... And then Blademaster named Melody got sliced into pieces by this long-nosed fucker. Shieldbearer Prudence was the next in line, and I tried to preserve her for as long as I could with buffing her def. Surprisingly, it worked, but she still was low on HP. Meanwhile Soulslinger Douce was DPSing as much as she could, but I had a feeling the damage is not enough. Prudence, my waifu, and Douce, my strongest Daughter, I was looking out for them during this run, but this battle seemed unwinnable. I almost gave up any hope... And then, on one of the Douce shots, the "But I will never fall" kicked in. "Fuck it. Simply fuck it", I thought, "Even if I'm going down, I will make as many holes in him as I can". Activated everything I could, shot all rounds in the Surgeon, almost got him, used Intercepting Round, and when this shithead raised his scissors to slice Prudence, Douce immediately finished him off with her last bullets. Melody was avenged.
It's quite awesome if you enjoy tactical games _and_ roguelites. It can be a bit repetitive on the regular levels, but the boss fights in particular are all distinct and very high stakes!
I do Wonder whey people say this game is insanely hard. I killed surgeon on the first run (no recollection) and ALL daughters stood alive (yes, nightmare mode). People don't seen to undertand how powerful interruption skills are in this game.
Thank you a lot for this ! Would it be possible for you to upload the “Inner Void” score/theme/music that plays when managing the squad ( not during missions ) ?
Damn I'm currently playing the game and i was looking for this theme, because it fked me so hard at the third phase, i had to sacrifice my blademaster and the soulslinger in order to win (first playthrough). Not sure why my Shieldbearer failed to taunt him with the second skill, then he insta went to were it was my blademaster and soulslinger doing his attacks and then casting the spec skill... it fked me up because boss charge spec attack at initiative 50 and in the last turn i fked up trying to finish him so both of them were at initiative 100.... yes you can figure out what happened next. Luckily after the massacre in the last turn, my shieldbearer manage to land backstabs attacks at full dmg so i manage to finish him... at the cost of my blademaster and soulslinger... ended up with less than 100 hp... after that, i had to restart from the begining, damn it if i knew that we can miss taunt before it wouldn happened.
Thanks for making this available. It's a pity that they soundtrack doesn't include something like this, so it's nice to have it here. That said, I have a few humble suggestions regarding the length of the phases. Phase 1 gets far too little playtime, phase 2 gets a little too much, and phase 3 gets far too much. The music in this battle is so epic partially due to the pacing of the gameplay. In the game, you're listening to Phase 1 for at least half of the time, and its repetition does a great job of building up the musical tension that is released with the into to phase 2. The timing of the intro to phase 2 is, of course, perfect as it is. Phase 2's music is the backdrop to the final fight with the Surgeon himself and it takes fewer turns than the fight against his Devoted. It probably should run somewhere around 2/3 of (the extended) phase 1's playtime. At the very least it should be no longer than (the extended) phase 1. While phase 3's prominent vocals are a great crescendo to the battle, triggering on just about when you're delivering the death blow the Surgeon, their power is weakened the more they're repeated, and the lyrics get musically fatiguing. So I would suggest having phase 3 play for at most one repetition. Finally, rather than having it transition back to Phase 1 for station identification, end the video where phase 3 concludes and instead time it so that when looping it blends into the beginning of the song for a similar effect. This is less about the pacing of the song and more about making it loop friendly, so is the least significant of the suggestions here. The transition actually works quite well on a single playthrough.
They nerfd the difficulty early on after release unfortunately, a perfect example of how overcoming a harder challenge elevates it to a different level

One of the most badass music themes I've ever heard. Holy shit that transition to phase 2.
What a random find, this is outstanding!
Moment like this, this is how you recognize you're facing a great game
Dude i had almost the same situation only difference my shield daughter survived with 46 hp and i could weaken him enough from distance that my sword i could kill him all my daughters ended up with less than 150 hp that was so damn epic it felt like a real win i didnt feel in a while.
The surgeon never gave me much trouble. I beat him first try. But I think he is by far the coolest looking boss and I love his mechanics.
unfortunately they nerfed his difficulty a ton, it was so satisfying finally getting to his final phase and turning the tide and those vocals kicks in out of nowhere
Omg yes thank you!!! I wanted this version of the song!!
Never played this game and not sure if I ever will. I will, however, praise this soundtrack. Absolutely brilliant.
I've heard some epic game music but this is next level. Probably the best boss music I've ever heard!
i like how the music is slowly going based upon his phase, excellent theme.
Recently fought Surgeon for the 2nd time, and my team killed him so fast the music didn't have a chance to kick in :C
3x Soulslingers
3x Leader trait
3x Shadow Round
Never stood a chance.
All these songs are in the album, these are from in game to match the speed. The original songs are just shorter
Feels like you're fighting for your life with this soundtrack... and since it's a Boss fight, you kinda are
When the "will not fall" hit as all my units are on 50ish hp..
This is fucking fire
Just this boss fight alone worth trying the Othercide
Best phase 2 and 3 of the album imo
Great to lift to.
Haha the Othercide workout. +10 PUSHUPS FOR EACH KILLED DAUGHTER
@@SoundtrackRefinery +10 Situps for every germinated daughter.
@@UnalloyedMalenia I'll either be ripped or crippled by the end of this.
I am not sure which rules.
Which is a shame for people running at it around 4th or 5th recollection, when your lvl 11 Shieldbearer leaps behind the Surgeon, and your lvl 13 Blademaster just bitchsmacks him into oblivion with one single backstabbing Imbued Blade from 100 to 0 xD
(Yes, I know you can skip eras. I just enjoy the broken grind.)
My hero
Why this song makes me wanna tryhard all my life ? It's such incredible and i never play this game, seems to be good
Dude! Thank you for these boss themes!!!
This song is literally "FUCK IT WE BALL" compressed into sounds
Goddam it so underated
I want to fight this boss over and over again
God damn thanks a lot for this AMAZING video!!!
"Here we cut and slice for study!"
¡VAYA PUTO TEMAZO! Cuando ha llegado a la parte del "Epic Finale" se me ha puesto todo de punta con la ruptura!! ¡¡TE-MA-ZO!!
Finally i found someone who made it! Tnk you, dude! Great job!
Do you have this track in mp3/flac?
Use ytmp3.eu/en45/ to download the video as mp3!
I hate that the Surgeon had the best boss theme, i was dissapointed by the rest of them, not that they were bad, but my expectations were too high after the surgeon
I had to listen to this again because it slaps too hard
When it is your first recollection and you are feeling a bit confident fighting his Caretakers with ease but as the last one falls, Phase 2 music kicks in. You know you are in trouble right away.
Palliative Care
I though that wasn't so hard after all... Then I met the doctor.
Lol dont get me started lol
He cured you of your arrogance.
Till you beat his ass and grow arrogant again, anyway.
When I heard this when meetinh him for thr first time, I decided to buy the OST.
I feel like fighting radiance in hollow knight now, or soloing a war
best song on album rly gud
Solid game, but a bit repetitive 6\10, theme and mood where amazing 9\10, soundtrack fucking amazing 10\10. This game is absolutely worth the money you spend on it
Agreed!
Reason why I don't skip act 1:
Hehe time to try to get at least to the third boss
most epic soundtrack ever
dam this music is realy epic at the phase 3 i realy want it likt 3d action game, sort of dark souls with corrected mechanicks, with this music during boss fight)
to all my girls without blacksmith's grace, you were the real ones
holy hell i defeated him last night and when it went into second phase it felt more like that moment in media when the protagonists get the upper hand and my Daughters absolutely bullied him, killing him just as the vocals kicked in
Belle ...a matyr...always on the front line as a shield bearer protected her other Sisters...
These were my best Daughters in the game...despite they died few times...and I had to restart all over again just to get better at it...
original song: Solitaris - Sacrifice
link: ua-cam.com/video/HLtWglu2ti4/v-deo.html
Solitaris, this band is so good, can't get enough of their music
Yall had trouble with the surgeon I was surprised I got him on my first try idk if resets count though
Phase 3....I WILL NEVER DIE !!!!!!..?Edit..FALL!!
literally at the start it pauses and then... "BUT I WILL NEVER FALL!!!! (music resumes)"
Should i buy this game because of the soundtrack? I never seen gameplay of this.
It's quite awesome if you enjoy tactical games _and_ roguelites. It can be a bit repetitive on the regular levels, but the boss fights in particular are all distinct and very high stakes!
Careful. You would want my scalple to slip into-
Ehhhhhh shaadap! 🐇
I do Wonder whey people say this game is insanely hard. I killed surgeon on the first run (no recollection) and ALL daughters stood alive (yes, nightmare mode).
People don't seen to undertand how powerful interruption skills are in this game.
They nerfd the difficulty of this boss early on, if it's possible you should do the fight on v 1.0, so much more satisfying
Thank you a lot for this ! Would it be possible for you to upload the “Inner Void” score/theme/music that plays when managing the squad ( not during missions ) ?
Ha i have recorded that already. Later today!
Soundtrack Refinery thank you anyway ! :)
@@VlasiosSokorelosTheDarkwavist here you go! ua-cam.com/video/JsGkCxR_gNI/v-deo.html
The song on the album is called sacrifice
Literally came my pants listening to this
would just prolong the fight just to hear this shit
can you hear the crows cawing?
fuccckkiinng epicccccccccccccccccccccccc
This isn't the Surgeon's theme. It's yours.
Nice
this music has 4 phases? wtf I never heard the last 2. did I beat this fucking boss too fast?
They nerfd the difficulty early on after release unfortunately, a perfect example of how overcoming a harder challenge elevates it to a different level
But I will never fall...
