11:40 There wont be a game if you wear the face mask.
Finally an actual beginners guide that is a... beginners guide. Every other "beginners guide" I found was like "ok, head to the trader and get on with the quests".. cool but I'm starving to death and didn't realise I had perks to spend lol.
Lmao! This! We just gave the game a try last night… after fumbling around on our own for a couple hours… I looked up some tips this morning… and I was like omg! I HAD POINTS!? I probably had a ton with all the stuff I had built, searched and zombies killed… 😅😭
Ik this is an old vid with old comments, but I just got this game and love it so far but there is something driving me nuts. Whenever I jump, there is this really hard to describe "frameskip" that occurs right before my feet hit the ground making jumping look like this neasueting stutter almost even though frametime and framerate are rock solid (60 fps locked, 16.6 ms lock frametime. Does anyone else experience it because I cant even find one other person online with this issue but I know im not crazy? its hard to tell if others have it and dont realize it through these youtube because of the video compression and lower frame rate.
Same.
100% exactly my thoughts and experience with other videos, finally a beginner friendly video going into things slowly
Phenomenal guide. Wish I had this when I got started. I just mimicked you and Glock back in the day. 😅
Yeah, after watching Glock's Apocalypse series, I ended up buying 7DTD. He was like a gateway drug to all these amazing content creators, and between him, Capp, Skippy, Znation, and Josh (I'm not calling him JaWoodle...), I was well prepared to survive.
I mean, I still died until I got the melee distance down, but at least I wasn't as bad as the Neebs crew.
Love this community!
Me too
Same. It was a good strategy :)
@@bladeofphoenix No one is as bad as the Neebs crew LOL
@@quietone748 lolz, too true - they've upped their game, but Capp, Glock & Josh would still run circles - still love the group dynamic while i yell at my screen watching
I don’t usually comment on videos but this is probably the 10th video I am watching as I new starter and it’s worth every second of it. So glad you kept it this simple and clear. Thanks
I appreciate that!
The ASMR is real, almost passed out. But I wanted to listen in and see what all was present in it. Glad you touched up and were comprehensive on everything I wish I knew as a beginner in this one! Especially with all the changes from Alphas from Then vs Now.
10/10, best Beginners Guide.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you :)
When you don't play the game, but watch the walk-through anyway, you know you enjoy the channel.
Thank you :)
True enough??? 👍
@@jacobxiongnu2931 yes lol
@@capp00 Hi i love Ur video
EXACTLY why I’m here. Been here for a year might actually get it now lmao
Great starter guide, for a complete beginner THIS is what we needed. Most of the other "beginner guides" were in fact not, lol. This one actually shows you step-by-step useful beginner tips and how-to things.
You could absolutely teach people how to play this game, 100%. The knowledge you have in this game is excellent.
I remember my first attempt at 7dtd...in my naivety I presumed I could escape the horde by silently crouching in a dark basement...it was a harrowing experience and one that I haven't fully bounced back from
I tried the same thing in an attic when I first started. Was on noob level, barely any zombies set for horde night, and it was still a harrowing experience! I did learn to climb up into the rafters when the dogs showed up though :)
Capp00 is my 7D2D ASMR....please continue...
The "Bob Ross" of 7DTD.
Awww, this was so nice of you Capp, there are a lot of gamers who are completely lost when it comes to this game and I'm sure this will help them a ton, I have over 3K hours into this game and I'm not ashamed to admit it, the main way that I have learned how to do things though was watching others play the game. :) Excellent tutorial. :)
Very nice guide. As a veteran with 1000+ hours in the game I approve 👍
I, with my 3000+ hours, also approve.
With my 30hours i approve👍
I with my game not installed approve.
Shi ian even started playing
this guy explains things in grave detail even after owning the game for a while now and watching beginners guides that take you no were, since this is the first video I actually learned a thing or 2 Nah more then what I previously knew I hope he made more guides to follow. TY Capp00
Wonderful guide, I don’t know how much time I wasted trying to figure all this stuff on my own
Thx Capp!!!! I’ve played 7d2d on console for almost 3 years now and just switched to pc and it’s pretty much a new game. Thx for the tips because I had no idea what i was doing!
Glad to help :)
This game is on sale for 70% till the 26th of april! hope this helps anyone who wants to get it!
I got this 07/04/2021 ~ sale
Of course there are the EXTREMELY rare times when u find an old military fortress that u can clear out. I found one of the old barracks and it only had like 6 zombies they’re made of concrete and steel barb wire and have plenty of chances of spawning guns they are ur saving grace lol.
Even playing for over a year, I learned new things. Can't wait for the next wasteland video.
One of the very best guides I’ve ever seen on this game! When I would watch people play it always bothered me because I didn’t understand what they were doing or why they were doing it. I can’t thank you enough for this!
Glad I could help!
15:30 - 15:55 is killing me for some reason, the whole tutorial is so calm and measured and his character savagely smashes a zombies skull in
Right!? And then right after… “ok, now back to the frames…” all non-chalet… 😂😂😂😂
You explain things really well! I've been playing this game since Alpha 17 and have yet to find anyone else who explains this game as well as you do.
Capp keeping the 7D2D new player base informed! I didn't have this when I started and had my share of struggles but am glad future players will have this! Good guy Capp wins again!
I love Capp and Glock, they're some of the nicest most informative content creators out there, Glock9 swears, which I don't mind and Capp tries his best not to which I respect, either way they're both awesome guys. :)
@@Christine-ru7wg Agreed :)
I really wish I watched this last week when I started playing.
This has literally every answer to every question I had, plus SO much more.
This is the most comprehensive beginner's guide for 7D there is.
Thank you!
Glad I could help!
It’s videos like this that kept me alive my first ever play through. There is no terror like your first game night. Hiding somewhere in a busted up ceiling listening to the zombies running around RIGHT. OUTSIDE. THE. DOOR.
This is a great guide! I spent half an hour trying to figure out how to get plant fibers. I WAS DIGGING A HOLE WITH A TORCH to find them! Great job here.
Glad it helped!
This is so good - thank you. I gave up on my first play (I'm a complete newb), and started more research. I've learned more in the first three minutes than all the other videos; from the compass, to the food and water meterm
Glad it was helpful!
Great job Capp, be the light my friend, be the light.
I have owned this game for like 5 years but never got more than an hour into it, recently saw some hype around the new update thanks for this guide :)
What a great tutorial. I am so thankful for you not yelling and being all hectic like so many gamers. 😂 Subbed.
Nice! Thank you :)
Omgoodness I’m very happy I have found this video because this is my first video game but I haven’t able to understand the game BUT finally I found someone that has been able to explain it in a language I understand. I’m extremely happy to play this game with this guide!
Glad I could help!
To add, when you hit a horde night, the day number (top center) will turn red. Helpful if you're playing a random horde night setting mostly but, a red number slapping you in the face none the less might get your butt in gear to get back to base ASAP. Nice vid, my dude!
Excellent guide, I just started playing Alpha 19 after about a year of playing on console. I bought a pc just to be able to play the far superior pc version. I was lost on some things like the food/water bars which is obviously way different from console version. Thank you for the helping hand.
i started A20 and had no idea what i was doing. Found this video and has helped tremendously
one of the best game guides I've watched. very clear and concise!! thank you!
I'm pretty sure that when looking at an item trying to figure out what is required to repair it, that under the little book icon that tells you the description of the item, it will also tell you the needed resource.
Hey Capp00! You might remember me from your minecraft let’s play series, anyway I recently downloaded 7 days to die and had no idea how to play so I remembered that you did these videos and instantly came here. Thanks Capp00, this really helped me! 😁
That's awesome James, glad I could help you out :)
Wow great content recently: 12 days, escape room, and this. Great to see!
There are some easy tips for new player: Those water that can be collected near the river or the pool may not be drunk directly! Those collections will be listed as "murky water". Players have to find a cocking pat and boil the water as boiled water to drink. ( This hit me hard in the first game I even played. I didn't even know about the yellow flower tea to cure Dysentery )
I’m trying to play a catch up after I had my son about 2.5 years ago. A20 looks exciting but this guide video is exactly what I need. Thank you so much!
Great guide and wonderful visual animations to help. Thank you.
Here I am with over 5k hours on pc as well as on console watching a beginner tutorial :D Great job! Wish I had something like that when I first started.
If you plan on future videos maybe explain how to handle the first horde nights. We first thought we're supposed to hide. That didn't go well xD
Glock9 gamer has a few great horde base designs - most recent in Cabin in the Woods, but also the hotel base works but is resource intensive. Josh (Jawoodle) has some base test runs as well
@@scarletkitty4826 There was nothing like that when I was new to the game. Today there's lots of videos of course. I just thought if Cap would like to start a tutorial series, how to handle the first horde nights should be part of it :)
thank you very very much, just bought the game today & have been stuck for hours. b/c of this video I am now subbed. cant wait to dive into your other videos. agian ty for helping out the little guys here
Welcome aboard! Glad I could help and I hope you enjoy the game :)
This is the best guide of 7 Days To Die there is! You are a great teacher :). Congratulations, man.
Thank you very much!
Great job!
Couple of years ago I learned everything by watching you and kickz. I remember you tested a lot of stuff back then. Didn’t you tested the armor by shooting at your brother ?
One thing I feel like saying about 7 Days To Die, that goes well with this video is this: The game is a survival sand-box open-world, and has a huge amount of replay potential. You can play it differently each time you begin, and there are lots of settings to tweak in the options menu, so you can make the game harder or easier and choose settings that appeal to you, or settings that work well with a particular challenge you have in mind.
I personally like to play with Loot Abundance set to a low value (the default is 100%) because I feel it makes the game more like The Walking Dead TV series, where even finding enough food to survive is a problem. I also like to play Perma-death, i.e. placing a restriction on myself, so that when I die in game, that's it: Game Over. But for other people playing, you don't have to run with those restrictions - You can play the game the way you like.
I'd also say that the game is very interesting from the perspective of Random Loot, in that finding a single item (e.g. a recipe) can completely change how you play from that point forwards. You can be quite orientated on base building, if you like that, but if you choose suitable perks (as you gain levels), it is possible to play with minimal base-building (and more looting). Again, the game moulds itself to you and how you want to play (and assuming you develop strategies to approach a particular style of playing).
13:50 Many items to Craft.
Not only can you press the buttons for the amount, you can also press the number directly. Then a cursor appears and you can enter the number you want.
Can you do a guide on how to use the dev tools, creative menu, and the command console? I finally got a good enough PC to play this and use my 1st playthrough in the creative menu so I can build and figure out zombie AI. Thank you!! This was definitely helpful! Going from console to PC was weird even though I still use the controller sometimes it took me forever to figure out the advanced rotation.
Great tutorial Capp00, very thorough and informative. I knew all of this already, but couldn't stop watching :D
Nice video. I just bought the game and wanted to see a beginner guide for it. I used to watch your minecraft videos and subscribed to you back then. I hope you and your family is doing well. Thanks for the good content. Nice to see your channel grow and you doing new games. Cheers 🥂
Definitely a useful guide after taking a break from the game. I can't wait to get back into 7 Days To Die (Alpha 19) - many thanks!
Awesome thank you Capp .I have been playing the game for a few weeks now an still i don't know how to place a torch on a wall (sad). Anything i can learn from you is going to speed up my game greatly . Sitting in game trying to work things out wastes so much time. So Thank you so much for Helping old slow folks like me out . Cheers an may you have a Merry Christmas
lol Right-click :)
@@capp00 Haha OK Thank you an Shh you saw nothing K :)
Hey man! I’m so glad I found your video, because I just bought the game for pc and I was having a hard time adjusting to the changes from console. I’m pretty psyched!
Glad I could help!
Straight to the point and very detailed... 10/10 would recommend👌🏾
Outstanding introductory tutorial Capp!
Very well spoken and quite informative for new players!
Much appreciated!
Most helpful beginner's guide for 7 Days that I could find. Thanks a bunch!
Glad it helped!
Cool video... I can think of a couple people that this will help a lot.
One clarification.. Regarding your crafting queue, you said you work on stuff simultaneously. This queue is sequential, so you have more of an opportunity to cancel something if you accidentally started to craft or scrap something.
Looking forward to the next video! (BTW, I created a nitrogen map that is all wasteland... couldn't play it. It was too nerve wracking! >_
Wish I had this when I started. I switched over from console last year and I'm absolutely loving this game. So much so that my friend and I started an intense comedy series about it
Great job on this video Capp00! You made this video really informative, and I had a lot of fun just listening to you explain the basics. I do think that you should make an in-depth tutorial on the skill trees.
Awesome, thank you!
Great video just started playing and this video has helped me understand the game thank you
Glad I could help!
Hey, I love you okay! and thank you. This is literally thee bet tut and walkthrough thus far. Being a day 0 player this was extremely helpful.
Glad I could help!
Love your videos Capp. I watched this on my second monitor on mute while watching another video.
I figured that though I don't need a beginners guide I wanted to give you a like, view time and comment to help the channel.
Hope this helped you out 😊❤
Thank you very much!
@@capp00 😊 Not a problem. I love your content, so anything I can do to help.
If I had better income I would totally be a Patreon.
You should've mentioned that destroying the nest will give you more feathers
I wouldn’t destroy the nest because they refill
Excellent video. Answered a few key things I was missing. Thanks!
Great to hear!
happy to see this - i love this game (1k+ hours), but it has certainly changed a lot - and understanding the UI, skill tree and more can make your game so much better.
i fully encourage players to try different settings and different skills specialization to see how it affects your gameplay
This is an awesome guide! I like how meticulous you are... A lot of the things you mention I probably would have overlooked in explaining the game to a new player. Great work! :)
Awesome, thank you!
Thanks, Capp I remember an earlier beginners guide you made that was really helpful when I was just starting out.
This is still a great refresher and is a great video to suggest to new players .
Glad I could help!
This is a well informed video, and should be a great start point for any fresh meat coming into the game
17:33 These rock structures take a long time to remove/harvest. So even for it's experience and rock that you get, you actually are doing yourself a disservice. The boulders that break up into 3 and deplete rapidly, give you a lot more stone, including other metals or nitrate, and give you experience faster for the rate that you take them out. So finding those are actually more time, xp, and harvest efficient than to beat on those rocks structures. Of course, if that is all that is nearby, it is your best option than taking the time to find those boulders on the horizon, especially if you've already taken them all out. Take these rock structures out when you have better tools to do it faster (even so, it means that the boulders are even faster to take out but at least the rock structures are less nuissance). Once you are at that level of harvesting, you can more likely dig down or even mine down from those rock structures to create your own mineshafts. It's still better to surface mine and loot but mineshafts can be safer alternatives at night.
Excellent presentation skills, Cap. Very organized and clear.
Much appreciated!
Hope to see the more advanced stuff in a future video, great first beginners guide episode could have used that when i started playing!
Could you also make a video about what skills are smart/good to use in the beginning to make it a bit more easy to survive the first few days?
Thanks keep up the good work!
Figured out most of what you said by myself right up to point 16 mark
What I haven't found is a guide how to find plenty of food in the beginning while you're levelling up,
As if you try to ride some houses to pending where you are on the map the zombies are extremely hard to kill with low level weapons
Find very small houses, single story or even the half blown-up houses. less zombies but still a chance for food. Also, killing animals like deer, chickens, snakes, pigs and wolves will give you meat you can cook.
Great Video, solid advice for starting! Thank you for doing this!
Glad it was helpful!
I just started playing, brand new to the game. Literally spawned in with 6 zombies around me, I didn't get any time to even make the bed roll before I was killed. I sure as heck didn't get a safe bubble to ease into the game. Literally writing this 7 minutes after I started my very first game on a brand new server day 1, just me playing. 5-8-21
You're really the best at these tutorials. I learn something every time. Thank you so much for making them!
Very helpful cheers , couldn’t work out how to upgrade blocks , bit of a senior moment I think 🧐 👍🏻
Great vid for beginners like me, some vids are too complicated or not very informative, this is just the ticket, thanks. I subscribed.
Awesome, thank you!
Idk why but i'm a sucker for beginner guides, doesn't matter how long i've played the game lol.
Great job Capp, I wish this type of guide was around for alpha 18 lol. What did I get, my friends talked me into spending the money on the game then join their server so they could "show" me how to play the game. I died so many times my first few days lmao.
I know this is a bit off topic, but, I thought it might be of interest.
In my current play through, I am near the boar thingy (Grace)...I'm upcoming onto horde night...I remember way back when animals/zombies used to fight...If that is still true...prior to the horde 21:50 hours...I would open all the cages...get a shot in to activate the boars...and get on the roof... Is that still a thing?
Thoughts?
As an experienced player, I can confirm that this is still helpful
Recommended viewing for any noob to the game. I got my crash course from watching Neebs Gaming back in A16.
13:35 also u can hit the nest and it will give u more feathers
Great guide Capp! I have a love/hate relationship with Day 1. Love it because everything is new, everything is needed, and there will be new cities to explore. Hate it because of no stamina, hoofing it all the time, crappy weapons, and all dude wants to do is eat. :)
And dogs, bears and dire wolves are a real threat
@@quietone748 They sure are. Cats too if you venture into the snow biome.
ahh I remember watching you since A16.4 , your electricity guide helped me a ton and many other guides too
Awesome to hear. Glad I could help!
Very clear and thorough... thank you, and stay well!
Thanks, you too!
@@capp00 You're welcome and thanx again!
I've played on the Xbox for years now but I just finally bit the bullet and bought it on my PC for 7 bucks during a sale. I was waiting it out hoping they'll update it but I haven't seen any news on that happening for a year now. Thanks for for video I'll need alot of help getting started learning about all the cool new stuff.
Happy to help, I have a ton of tutorials too.
3:05 I don't know why but as soon as I saw the rabbit my first thought was the rabbit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Sadly I don't have any Holy Hand Grenades.
Great work as always Capp - can't wait to see what the new year brings!!
Thanks! You too!
Wow, really well-made guide and excellent narration! I just bought the game, decided to prepare myself with some info ahead of time with a tutorial. Apparently, that's a good choice since I see people saying this isn't an easy game. I made a good choice on the tutorial! Thanks for this! Also, I understand there's Alpha 20 now, is this guide still adequate for a complete beginner or has Alpha 20 drastically changed anything?
Cool video, really enjoyed and will help me getting started
Fantastic beginners guide. Perfect information and very well delivered! Just started 7DTD and was feeling a bit lost... but this helped a lot, Thank-you! Subscribed! ;D
Glad you enjoyed it!
This looks so much brighter and better graphics than what I've been seeing in game. Did you adjust the brightness/contrast to get this quality of graphics?
Nope, default settings on both of them.
Lol! Now I know why I get so many screamers. Torches need to go. Thanks for all the great content! It has been gold on my 7dtd journey.
Glad to help
I watched this and failed to comment on it yesterday. I feel shame for not offering praise and gratitude for yet another awesome video steeped in fabulous. I'll try harder.
How dare you. lol. Kidding. I appreciate the support man, truly :)
Capp: you have failed me for the last time... *sounds of choking*
@@Плут-с2о it would not surprise me if, among Capp's other powers, he had full mastery of the Force.
Great guiding tips. And beware of dogs. Keep an eye out for dog houses, meaning dogs are probably nearby. My first playthrough I got seriously wrecked by a single dog early on.
I was thinking of buying the game, and this video got me pulling out my credit card. Thanks for helping me with the game growing pains!

Great video! I confess I did not know that if you clicked the icon itself, it would show you the appropriate stat buff or debuff. I always did it the long way of opening the menu, looking at the character, etc. Also, is there a reason you don't chop up the bird's nests after you loot them? Insofar as I have seen, it gives you extra feathers.
In regular gameplay, I do. I just didn't go into the "extras" for the Beginners Guide. :)
@@capp00 Ah! Well, that will teach me! LOL :)
I like it. Dont forget, if youre real desperate you can also wrench the birds nests for additional resourses....or have the FP changed that?
You don't have to wrench them, just hit them with the stone axe, or even your fist.
@@capp00 Oh hell ya, even better.
And they respawn after being hit too so no reason not to harvest them all the time unless you do not need feathers anymore!!
