A common misconception when choosing a fragrance I've noticed (myself included) is when a person, regardless of their gender, tries to choose a fragrance solely on whether it smells good (or not) on its own. When you apply the fragrance on yourself, the "end result" people around you are going to smell is a mixture of your own body odor and the given fragrance. Just because it smells good on the little paper tester (idk what to call it), doesn't mean it is THE fragrance for you. Always apply it on your body and let it "soak in" and mix with your own body odor. That's when you're going to see how the fragrance really smells on you.
I've been hoping you would bring up fragrances! For men looking for a new fragrance, spray a sample at your local fragrance department and ask a female(or male) how it smells! All fragrances have different oils that may react to your skin and this is also an easy way to spark a conversation! Personally, I have a set for different seasons/events; summer, winter and a signature scent. Winter: YSL La Nuit de L'Homme; smoky, cinnamon scent that resembles a bit of masculinity. I tend to use this on date nights as well. Summer: Bleu de Chanel; light, citrusy(Grapefruit) scent that is very refreshing. Signature: Aventus by Creed; another light, citrusy(Pineapple) scent that last most of the day. I use this when I go out to the bars, weddings, etc. I also use this for date nights depending on which one I prefer for the night. Not so in your face but still very powerful and women love it!

Cool water is what I wear when I’m not doing anything particularly special. Running errands and doing odd jobs. Funnily enough it’s the one that gets the most positive comments. It’s not one I’m overly fond of and I don’t think it’s too popular overall but women that do like it REALLY DO like it.

Bleu de Chanel Parfum is one of my favorites,has a lime zest and pineapple vibe. Jazz club is perhaps my favorite fragrance that I have smelled this far
Somewhat implied but I highly recommend testing out the fragrance you’re considering for the day. (Ask for a spray or worst case buy a small sample.) Sometimes our skin or sense of smell react to products differently. Something could smell great but not be compatible to our body.
Damn, and I thought my ex-wife to a long time to get ready! Wow, hours in a bath tub! 😂 In all honesty, I use Drakar Noir immediately before and after sports (like racquetball) and general exercise in small amounts which really is an excellent casual scent. I prefer other colognes for business or slightly more formal occasions.
I love that Courtney enjoys and has gotten into fragrances. Fierce is an absolute modern masterpiece, despite its nostalgia, and recognizability. It also works around most of the year and it’s something I’ll be going back to often. It is still very unique despite those two things, scent-wise. It’s such a beautiful citrusy, somewhat aromatic musk and floral, and real masculine. Good taste, Courtney.
For the last 30 years my signature scent has been Open by Roger et Gallet. Two different girlfriends bought me bottles back in the day and said it smelt great on me. It's been discontinued now for many years but you can still find it on Ebay and at very reasonable prices. R&G are a traditional Paris parfumier as opposed to a "designer" brand. Hats off to Teddy for Floris btw. Very smooth. The preferred scent of a certain British secret agent with a License to Kill, at least in the original Fleming novels.
All these frags will make you smell like someone's ex. They're all great, but I smell them too often in my area. On the other hand, finding a good and unique signature scent for yourself is really hard.

JPG Ultra Male gives me much more compliments then Le Male. A&F First Instinct Together is also a very good compliment getter and sometimes can be found at places like TJ Maxx or Burlington for under $25 for a 1.7oz bottle. Love this video!

Judging from your scent description in what you like in men’s fragrance. A few choices I think you’ll like are… 1. Hermes - Ambre Narguile 2. Guerlain - Tonka Imperiale and Spiriteuse Double Vanille 3. Cartier - L’envol De Cartier (both edt and edp) 4. - (Bonus cheapie) Rasasi - Daarej
I’d also suggest checking out the brand Diptyque. Particularly Eau Duelle edp, Volutes edp, and 34 Boulevard Saint Germaine edt and edp are a few that sound like scents that are right up your alley. All three of those are unisex and could work well on both you and your partner.

For someone getting into fragrances, please take my advice! I have so many and only reach for the quality ones. My advice, quality over quantity. Simple and effective. Save money for the more expensive ones and skip out on the ‘cheapies’. My top 3 Designer fragrances for reference are: 1. Bleu de Chanel EDP or Parfum 2. Acqua Di Gio Profumo 3. Terre D’Hermes (highly recommend trying first) - I prefer the eau intense vetiver EDP

I'm not a big cologne person myself, but I do like the Jean Paul Gaultier cologne. I always though you should smell fresh and clean. I'm probably dating myself, but I remember when the most popular colognes were Cool Water, Drakkar Noir, Obsession, Eternity, and Polo Sport. What do you think of the homemade soaps and deodorants made with activated charcoal, coconut oil and essential oils? I thought they were bogus before I tried some of them, but they actually smell nice and do wonders for my skin.
It's true, there is a huge difference between designer and niche. For anyone who loves tobacco like me, then I highly recommend another from Parfums de marly called Herod! Perfect blend of tobacco and vanilla, it's beautiful

Hi Courtney, A better alternative to Dior Sauvage is Prada Luna Rosa "Carbon". It is not as "metallic" as Dior Sauvage and is much smoother with just as many compliments. Love Ya!
Nice video Courtney. When i first purchased Sauvage back when it came out i had no idea what i was in for. Honestly in my life i have never come close to the amount of compliments of a cologne like with this. I am not even kidding it sends you on a compliment journey. These are nice suggestions. However there are problems with fragrances at work. In many companies, HR bans the use of colognes in the workplace. My church banned the use of men's cologne and hair product like pomade. But on the weekend men's fragrances are good idea, especially if the wife or girlfriend likes them. I would also suggest Chanel For Men. It has a slight vanilla scent and women tend to like it.
Stopped wearing cologne back when Nautica was still popular haha! The most compliments I ever got on how I smelled were when I used a 'Cool blue' after shave product by Gillette - for some reason that one just seemed to work for me. Lately it's been the Alaffia deodorant, lemograss & turmeric (I think?). The key is to find what works for you, even the soap you use can affect your scent, and your personal chemistry has a lot to do with it too, something that works on one person may not on someone else because it doesn't work with their body chemistry. Find what works for you, but even so make sure you stay clean, work on your style and social skills and get them girls to want to be close enough to you to get a good sniff in the first place.

Strong list. 540 is one of my favorite high-end cologne's. You won't be disappointed with 540. In addition, the list should have included some of the Tom Ford colognes which are top notch!!! Their oud scents are amazing!
I love Fahrenheit by Christian Dior, which you disliked in the first fragrance video. I was so excited when I saw MY cologne on the shortlist, patiently waiting for the moment and then you have said it. I was baffled. Fantastic list Courtney! Love the Maison Margiela and Maison Francis Kurkdjian mentions. Those two fragrances are absolutely beautiful. I’d recommend checking out Navitus “Vivamor” if you haven’t already - it’s an incredible scent that smells like a blend of Creed Aventus & MFK Bacarat Rouge 540. Guarantee you’ll love it!

Nice selection there Courtney. Personally I have Dior Sauvage Elixir as a daily scent, which hasn't been available that long here in the UK. As a signature scent I've gone for the Baccarat Rouge 540 recently. It is expensive but is worth it!
well done. layton is great, although on my skin not as beastly as i hoped, still a solid 6 hours. bvlgari man in black is overlooked often, and it is a sleeper, with great performance on my skin.

One of my favorite colognes ever is Creed Aventus....dammm is it good! I get so many compliments on it! A bit on the pricier side, but the scent lasts for a long time, plus the bottle is big...I got it a couple years and still have plenty left. I even take it with me anytime I travel.
My wife's favourite was a Star Trek inspired fragrance call 'Red Shirt' that was made for the modern man of the galaxy that lives for today, because tomorrow may never come. Sadly it was discontinued and when it came back it was reformulated with completely different notes
Courtney, try old school scents of original Lagerfeld as well as Safari (usually at cologne specialty places lately); women usually are pleasantly surprised. As for women's perfume, Ysatis is excellent and a bit rare to see on women. Strong vetos for all forms of Polo as well as Poison (from Elizabeth Taylor) as these are way to pungently strong.
Fierce is arguably the goat. Timeless. Masculine. Super citrus and woody. Balanced. Reformulations due to regulations but still the same scent, maybe not as strong but that could be a good thing. I think people’s nostalgia gets the best of them, the old “back in my day!!!”. All of the copies including percival (which is amazing don’t get me wrong) don’t stack up. Legend edp does stand on its own however as a gorgeous woody violet leaf.

Spicebomb Extreme and PDM Herod are my fav cold weather frags. Prada Lhomme, Versace Por Homme and Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme are my fav hot weather frags. PDM Layton is always amazing. My wife absolutely loves Le Male. And a random wild card I'd throw in is Armani Code Absolu.
I have many scents myself and couple inexpensive ones and are crowd pleasers are Kenneth Cole's Black and one called Dior it's from bath and body works it's their only men scent. I've also had Dolce Gabbana blue is a fav. I think maybe you should include application advise on a video. Include points of where to apply. And how scents can slightly change due to body chemistry with colognes. Also the differences between.. say an EAU and an EAP and so on... I believe there's an art to wearing a scent rather than a scent wearing us. Lol
I would start small by first putting yourself in lots of every day social situations and say "hi" to people in general and be friendly. Work your way up to a date, don't start with a date if you have been at all socially isolated.
I use an off-brand version of Euphoria for men by Calvin Klein, and I get tons of compliments about it. It smells very clean and is not super potent. I have a sensitive nose, so strong perfumes make me nauseous and give be a headache. This works perfectly for me! I'm going to have to try Baccarat Rouge though!
Love your list Courtney. I am sure you know Penhaligon’s as well but I had to throw it out there to make sure. They are a venerable English brand just like Floris. Maybe my favorite from them is Sartorial, but they have so many classics!
I feel like Versace Eros is not very strong when you put it on. I like it, but it's not strong enough in my opinion. I remember one of the colognes from Abercrombie & Fitch that I used in my teens had a similar scent and was stronger.

If you love dolce gabbanas the one, you'll love Tom Ford niors extreme . I normally will use dolce gabbanas but when I really want to smell even better , I choose Tom fords. I however use Tom ford's sparingly right now since I'm running out.

Drakkar Noir. Best applied by pouring a 50 gallon drum of it into a tub and bathing in it for 1-3 hours. Best scent ever.

Wow, hours in a bath tub! 😂 In all honesty, I use Drakar Noir immediately before and after sports (like racquetball) and general exercise in small amounts which really is an excellent casual scent. I prefer other colognes for business or slightly more formal occasions.

I love that Courtney enjoys and has gotten into fragrances. Fierce is an absolute modern masterpiece, despite its nostalgia, and recognizability. It also works around most of the year and it’s something I’ll be going back to often. It is still very unique despite those two things, scent-wise. It’s such a beautiful citrusy, somewhat aromatic musk and floral, and real masculine. Good taste, Courtney.

For the last 30 years my signature scent has been Open by Roger et Gallet. Two different girlfriends bought me bottles back in the day and said it smelt great on me. It's been discontinued now for many years but you can still find it on Ebay and at very reasonable prices. R&G are a traditional Paris parfumier as opposed to a "designer" brand.
Hats off to Teddy for Floris btw. Very smooth. The preferred scent of a certain British secret agent with a License to Kill, at least in the original Fleming novels.
All these frags will make you smell like someone's ex. They're all great, but I smell them too often in my area. On the other hand, finding a good and unique signature scent for yourself is really hard.
The majority of people, however, do not wear fragrances so even wearing one of these will make you stand out from the rest.

@@walkerb1734 If you’re looking for something that you won’t find in Macy’s, Sephora, or Ulta I would try brands like Xerjoff, Kilian, Tom Ford’s private blend, Penhaligon’s, Parfums de Marly, Initio, Amouage, etc.
I'm glad that you highlighted a Maison Margiela fragrance. A lot of youtubers skip over this brand. I like to wear Sailing Day from them.

JPG Ultra Male gives me much more compliments then Le Male. A&F First Instinct Together is also a very good compliment getter and sometimes can be found at places like TJ Maxx or Burlington for under $25 for a 1.7oz bottle. Love this video!

I don't do gum anymore. It's a little disgusting. IMO. I go with mints that are easily dissolved. Nothing over minty.
Judging from your scent description in what you like in men’s fragrance. A few choices I think you’ll like are…
1. Hermes - Ambre Narguile
2. Guerlain - Tonka Imperiale and Spiriteuse Double Vanille
3. Cartier - L’envol De Cartier (both edt and edp)
4. - (Bonus cheapie) Rasasi - Daarej
I’d also suggest checking out the brand Diptyque. Particularly Eau Duelle edp, Volutes edp, and 34 Boulevard Saint Germaine edt and edp are a few that sound like scents that are right up your alley. All three of those are unisex and could work well on both you and your partner.

They're saying Saint Julep is similar to Baccarat Rouge, but not nearly as expensive.
Just bought Dior Homme as my first. I’m just getting in fragrances, and it smells good. Hope to get some of these in the future!
I've been using that for the last few months. Hands down a too tier fragrance. I'm yet to find something since that tops this smell (for me personally). And I like much more than Suavage
Pre 2020 Dior homme especially the earlier versions were amazing.
For someone getting into fragrances, please take my advice! I have so many and only reach for the quality ones. My advice, quality over quantity. Simple and effective. Save money for the more expensive ones and skip out on the ‘cheapies’.
My top 3 Designer fragrances for reference are:
1. Bleu de Chanel EDP or Parfum
2. Acqua Di Gio Profumo
3. Terre D’Hermes (highly recommend trying first) - I prefer the eau intense vetiver EDP

My search ended the day Dior Sauvage was released. Went to Macy's and it was everything I imagined it would be.
Dior has my allegiance.

I'm not a big cologne person myself, but I do like the Jean Paul Gaultier cologne. I always though you should smell fresh and clean. I'm probably dating myself, but I remember when the most popular colognes were Cool Water, Drakkar Noir, Obsession, Eternity, and Polo Sport. What do you think of the homemade soaps and deodorants made with activated charcoal, coconut oil and essential oils? I thought they were bogus before I tried some of them, but they actually smell nice and do wonders for my skin.
It's true, there is a huge difference between designer and niche. For anyone who loves tobacco like me, then I highly recommend another from Parfums de marly called Herod! Perfect blend of tobacco and vanilla, it's beautiful

Hi Courtney, A better alternative to Dior Sauvage is Prada Luna Rosa "Carbon". It is not as "metallic" as Dior Sauvage and is much smoother with just as many compliments. Love Ya!

Nice video Courtney. When i first purchased Sauvage back when it came out i had no idea what i was in for. Honestly in my life i have never come close to the amount of compliments of a cologne like with this. I am not even kidding it sends you on a compliment journey. These are nice suggestions. However there are problems with fragrances at work. In many companies, HR bans the use of colognes in the workplace. My church banned the use of men's cologne and hair product like pomade. But on the weekend men's fragrances are good idea, especially if the wife or girlfriend likes them. I would also suggest Chanel For Men. It has a slight vanilla scent and women tend to like it.
If you live near a Nordstrom Rack store then you can get some of these for a good price. I bought the Le Male for just under $30.
Stopped wearing cologne back when Nautica was still popular haha! The most compliments I ever got on how I smelled were when I used a 'Cool blue' after shave product by Gillette - for some reason that one just seemed to work for me. Lately it's been the Alaffia deodorant, lemograss & turmeric (I think?). The key is to find what works for you, even the soap you use can affect your scent, and your personal chemistry has a lot to do with it too, something that works on one person may not on someone else because it doesn't work with their body chemistry. Find what works for you, but even so make sure you stay clean, work on your style and social skills and get them girls to want to be close enough to you to get a good sniff in the first place.

Strong list. 540 is one of my favorite high-end cologne's. You won't be disappointed with 540. In addition, the list should have included some of the Tom Ford colognes which are top notch!!! Their oud scents are amazing!
I love Fahrenheit by Christian Dior, which you disliked in the first fragrance video. I was so excited when I saw MY cologne on the shortlist, patiently waiting for the moment and then you have said it. I was baffled. I've never seen anyone saying it smells bad, so it was quite a shocker 😂 But my love still stands.
I tried a spray of Christian Dior in Nordstrom recently. A woman chased me off the escalator into the men’s shoes and said OMG you’re wearing Dior I love it! I went back and bought a bottle !

Fantastic list Courtney! Love the Maison Margiela and Maison Francis Kurkdjian mentions. Those two fragrances are absolutely beautiful. I’d recommend checking out Navitus “Vivamor” if you haven’t already - it’s an incredible scent that smells like a blend of Creed Aventus & MFK Bacarat Rouge 540. Guarantee you’ll love it!

Nice selection there Courtney. Personally I have Dior Sauvage Elixir as a daily scent, which hasn't been available that long here in the UK. As a signature scent I've gone for the Baccarat Rouge 540 recently. It is expensive but is worth it!
well done. layton is great, although on my skin not as beastly as i hoped, still a solid 6 hours. bvlgari man in black is overlooked often, and it is a sleeper, with great performance on my skin.

Try Herod by Parfums de Marly. Some say it's the best tobacco/vanilla fragrance ever.
One of my favorite colognes ever is Creed Aventus....dammm is it good! I get so many compliments on it! A bit on the pricier side, but the scent lasts for a long time, plus the bottle is big...I got it a couple years and still have plenty left. I even take it with me anytime I travel.
Sauvage gets me compliments all the time ! So weird . It's awesome even my uncle got it because I was wearing it one day.
My wife's favourite was a Star Trek inspired fragrance call 'Red Shirt' that was made for the modern man of the galaxy that lives for today, because tomorrow may never come. Sadly it was discontinued and when it came back it was reformulated with completely different notes
Nautica Voyage and Club De Nuit Intense Man are great fragrances! You had Intense Man in one of your fragrance videos you did back in Spring.
Armani Mania is the one I've used since 2005. It's the all timer for me.
Courtney, try old school scents of original Lagerfeld as well as Safari (usually at cologne specialty places lately); women usually are pleasantly surprised. As for women's perfume, Ysatis is excellent and a bit rare to see on women. Strong vetos for all forms of Polo as well as Poison (from Elizabeth Taylor) as these are way to pungently strong.
Fierce is arguably the goat. Timeless. Masculine. Super citrus and woody. Balanced. Reformulations due to regulations but still the same scent, maybe not as strong but that could be a good thing. I think people’s nostalgia gets the best of them, the old “back in my day!!!”. All of the copies including percival (which is amazing don’t get me wrong) don’t stack up. Legend edp does stand on its own however as a gorgeous woody violet leaf.
I haven't started yet, but if Drakkar Noir isn't on the list why I oughta...

Spicebomb Extreme and PDM Herod are my fav cold weather frags. Prada Lhomme, Versace Por Homme and Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme are my fav hot weather frags. PDM Layton is always amazing. My wife absolutely loves Le Male. And a random wild card I'd throw in is Armani Code Absolu.

I have many scents myself and couple inexpensive ones and are crowd pleasers are Kenneth Cole's Black and one called Dior it's from bath and body works it's their only men scent. I've also had Dolce Gabbana blue is a fav. I think maybe you should include application advise on a video. Include points of where to apply. And how scents can slightly change due to body chemistry with colognes. Also the differences between.. say an EAU and an EAP and so on... I believe there's an art to wearing a scent rather than a scent wearing us. Lol

I would start small by first putting yourself in lots of every day social situations and say "hi" to people in general and be friendly. Work your way up to a date, don't start with a date if you have been at all socially isolated.
I use an off-brand version of Euphoria for men by Calvin Klein, and I get tons of compliments about it. It smells very clean and is not super potent. I have a sensitive nose, so strong perfumes make me nauseous and give be a headache. This works perfectly for me!
I'm going to have to try Baccarat Rouge though!

But they don't last long .. i had Blenheim Bouquet and it smelled great but only for 2-3hrs
I feel like Versace Eros is not very strong when you put it on. I like it, but it's not strong enough in my opinion.
I remember one of the colognes from Abercrombie & Fitch that I used in my teens had a similar scent and was stronger.
Sweet dealio, one of mines made the cut...Jean Paul "Le Male", another one I use is BVLGARI "BLV Pour Homme Eau de Toilette"...that's one hell of a name 🤣
If you love dolce gabbanas the one, you'll love Tom Ford niors extreme . I normally will use dolce gabbanas but when I really want to smell even better , I choose Tom fords. I however use Tom ford's sparingly right now since I'm running out.
You should get your nose on these ….Reflection Man by Amouage, Oud Satin Mood by Maison Francis Kurkjian, & Truimph of Baccus by Argos. All phenomenal!!
