I lived in the flats in Bewley Drive shown @ 2min 29sec, we moved there spring 1963. Great memories of my teenage years, thanks for this trip down memory lane.
Thanks for putting this priceless footage up Jimmy. I wish you could have gotten a bit of the upper Broad Lane and Park Brow area where I grew up but what you did get is great.
Moved to Winsham rd in 1955 when the roads were just clay, Winsham was full of flats then which have since all been demolished. Went to St Joey's then St Kev's.
Great video, not a single pr*ck dressed in black with their hands down their fake North face tracky bottom's scratching their b*llocks or even a robbed trial bike or scooter, Try going past any shops or ale house today without seeing one or more of today's Scruff's, OK their not all bad because they dress in black I know that but it shows how time changes because all we got on this was a different era that wasn't as bad as it is today (personal opinion),if only we could Bring back the old days!
Yes, it was fairly quiet. A whole new generation who seemed intent on causing chaos hit their teens and started shitting all over the place. And it was not just Kirkby. It seemed to shift about 2000. By 2002 it was just gangs everywhere.
In sixty four we lived on Overton green and my uncle Fred and aunt sally were in south dene also in a maisonette over near the factory road that I think you showed Sally and Fred moved to Tower Hill in about 68 and we moved out to winsford in about 66 We made a lot of friends in Kirby and a lot of the kids who were in infant and junior school (holy angels)also moved to winsford so we had ready made friends My uncle Alan and aunt Sandra and family were on rowan drive
