- (Tripping words below)
Tripping to the moon last night, and baby it was out of site,
I couldn't find my way back home,.. you know it's just too far,
floating around in space like a superstar,
And when the bubble finally burst, I came crashing down to Earth,
were I couldn't get a word in edgeways if I tried,
no I couldn't get a word in edgeways if I tried,
Ooooo Oooo
So I had to take a look outside, to the bubble flying in the sky,
the moon was turning blue, like a naked eye,
I couldn't find my way back home,.. you know it's just too high,
And when the bubble finally burst, I came crashing down to Earth,
were I couldn't get a word in edgeways if I tried,
no I couldn't get a word in edgeways if I tried,
Ooooo Oooo
I couldn't get a word in edgeways if I tried,
Ooooo Oooo Ooooo Oooo

Oh, such memories 👍
My mum grew up in Sir Thomas White gardens, I remember going there in the mid 70s, I had loads of friends there.
Mally Nero, Boss songs! Give Thanks 🙏🏽❤️💛💚👊🏼👊🏼
Please can someone plz bring back them days
I used to get the bus home from school at Gerard Gardens. I lived in Portland Gardens & loved it.
My nan lived in Portland Gardens. I remember going in the Green Man when my dad was in there. My aunt also lived in Portland Gardens. I loved playing about around there. I could smell the glue factory as well as Tate & Lyles 😊
That was about 1980 until she moved when they were pulling it down. I remember a few names. It was fairly quiet and safe to me as a kid.
My mate lived in one of these 1980s...4th floor...it was quite a big flat, can you imagine these refurbished...they would have been worth a bomb......my missus used to live in one similar in the south end...only a few of these type of flats left in Liverpool now
my mum grew up in gerard gardens, when she was a baby a german bomb landed near the gardens & the blast blew her out of her cot🫣, she was totally unharmed, still going strong 84 years young next month, she loved it there every family was friends for life😍
There is a old film called dangerous playground and it's in Gerrard gardens I remember seeing it when I was a kid
My family grew up in Gerard gardens

Our Mums talked about these places like it were Heaven on Earth. Despite, the war, they had so many happy memories from the Dingle. They’re all dead and buried now, but in sue this is what Heaven looks like to them.
Leslie Khanna 🙌🙌🙌
Leslie I grew up in The Dingle, Caryl Gardens. They were the happiest days of my life, we had nowt but people took a real pride in their community. I can remember my Mum scrubbing the step, on her hands and knees in the middle of winter. Everyone had a real sense of belonging and was only too happy to help a neighbour out. We left in 1980, when they were getting ready to be demolished. If they would have Modernised them, I would have been more than happy to stay. Happy days😊😊.
I'm from and still currently live in the Dingle, proud to say so too
@@jimskiuk305 Growing up, it was the best mate. My family still live down there and like you, I am proud to say that that`s where I came from, Born and bred.
Wow!
im obsessed 😎👌
My Nan and dad where from Gerrard Crescent. I used to go as a kid.
They look proper clean back then. Kids in them days would not dare say boo to a ghost cause in them days ohh boy you would be done for. I think the problem with old swan today is under investment yeah you got tescos but that's it adds and farmfoods too but the farmfoods is a mess with like 3 staff. If I had a choice of going back or staying here now id love to go back in time to them days. At least I can walk the streets and not be in fear of these gangs of youths today
What wonderful times , noticed Longview shops and arches acroos road my mate lives in one of the houses where you walked under the arch, innocent times with days without gun toting drug dealers and stabbings
king gardens i lived in 1978 to 1985 in L8
the song's boss
There was a little nursery , on Albany Square, if anyone remembers, I haven't been round that area for a long time, was the street near it called Oswald street
Some of those very short bits from other parts of the city include the library in Norris Gren and the shops at Longview in Huyton, when the surrounding estates had just been built by LCC. I lived there for most of my childhood and even spent a few years living above the shops themselves. Lovely flats, but the place had become a problematic shithole by the mid 70s'.
Sort of ties in with the benefit generations.
Most of Litterpool is a problematic shithouse.
2:10 is muirhead avenue tenements still there today.
Ye but been upgraded now still the same to look at though.
Great stuff,,
at 1.18 thats "myrtle gardens" the shop you see was a cake shop sold bread cakes were lovely
Thank you for the information I've updated the title of the video , thanks for watching
I remember St.Andrews Gardens here...my Italian roots.
The bullring …..special memories
Weren't they in Birkenhead ?
@@joanmatchett8100 stop it.😂
@@anthonyo.6084 It was At Andrew's square, l got that mixed up , it was along Claughton Road in Birkenhead, l knew it was St Andrew's something.
Saint, not at
Are these tenements near Old Swan, I was trying to look for tenements on Vauxhall Rd,
These at the time were off Scottie road, and got demolished in 1987 I think the tenements your looking for were called Blackstock Gardens.
Or, could be Vauxhall Gardens. My Nanna and Auntie lived there. My Nanna was the first tenant in 1949. She moved out in 1989 shortly before they were demolished.
Who sings this song brilliant 👏let me know ..toshy Liverpool
Thanks Toshy for the feedback all the songs on this site are my own cheers Mal
Did you live there I use to hang round there.ps do you still play .I play bass
@@antonywalker3582 I used to live off Mill lane in Dunham road and the old swan, but used to hang around everywhere.. I still play and do some recording at home mostly .. cheers Mal
Them flats is where tesco is now in old swan liverpool, they were built I think 21/6/35. I was born on the same day 34 years later.
Wow, built in one day.
Gerrard Gardens were in L3 off Shaw Street Everton ways
@@catherineevans6809 it was the city centre known as Holy cross off Hunter Street near the Churchill flyover.
Everything is shite now. It was better then when I went to the grammar school and got my degree.
😮
