Howard Kaylan had the nicest, sweetest, musical voice that when accompanied in harmony with the other Band members & splendid Productions created one of the finest sounds of Pop Bands anytime during the 60's....
The song depresses me but it's also beautiful. No need to explain myself, people that know, know what I'm talkin about. Howard Kaylan did an excellent job here.
A nostalgic throwback seeing Casey Kasem on "Shebang" with the Turtles. A little corny with the pseudo symphonic musicians. "Like the Seasons" was from the Turtles' "Happy Together" lp and was the b-side on two Turtles' singles -- "Can I Get to Know You Better" and "Happy Together".
Wow! Haven't heard this since 1967 or 1968! One of my brothers had the Happy Together album, and the two I remembered hearing over the years were Happy Together and She'd Rather Be With Me. Forgot all about this one. Thanks for posting. Too bad the quliaty is a bit off, but still great to hear it. Loved this song back then, still sounds good.
It's my guess this was videotaped back in 67 when the Turtles released their smash hit album Happy Together. So the quality is not going to be right where it should be in today's world.
"Shebang" sure could be a weird program at times. I'll ask the obvious question. What on earth is that thing that Volman is holding? It appears to be an ornament of some sort that would normally be hung on a wall.
It's not Shebang in particular that's being eccentric; it's the mere fact that the Turtles are the guests. :) It's just not a Turtles performance unless you find yourself thinking, "What on earth is that thing that Volman is holding?" In this case, I thought he was running a bow across an autoharp, but I could be wrong. :) Love these guys...

With Mark Volman’s virtuoso performance playing a piece of molding!
First time I’ve heard this one even though I grew up in the era.
I sang this song for a college play audition, and got the part! I love this song
How could you have gone wrong singing a Turtle song?
I did the same thing!
😌 i like this song
Barbata conducting! That's awesome!
Hiram "Bones" Howe did the Original Conducting on the 45-He wasn't available,so Barbata took his place.

And there you have it!! 😄
This reminds me of the girl I lost....Sharon K. My first true love 1967.
Bella historia
So awesome - I actually own this on the 45 RPM single....Zevonite from WA-ay back
LOL and they went "baroque". how Warren is that?
Warren was going by "Arthur Lyme" and was with Johnny Cymbell as "Lyme & Cymbell" recording on the Turtles' Label White Whale!
@@mrmjb1960 No, Cybelle was Violet Santangelo, who later used the stage name Laura Kenyon.
I love you Mark ❤️😘
Today is Mark Volman’s birthday. Happy birthday, Mark!
Nostalgic song from the past...remember Sharon?
Maybe you'll read this someday, I hope.
Did you ever hear from Sharon
@@pbailey232 Unfortunately no. But not giving up hope. Thank you.
Conductor John Barbata!
written by Warren Zevon
He took a long road to 'Laywers, guns and money'. But both are great songs!
