The "Kull the King...Kull the fool" bit is quite beautifully read.
In a film it ought to be set against the "Late Lament" part of "Nights In White Satin" by The Moody Blues.
You're the best for putting this out. REH was a mfing legend. I feel like his fanbase is small.. but enduring.

In my opinion, this is Robert E. Howard's all-time greatest work, and the single finest story ever in all the genre of sword and sorcery.

It seems to me that this is where the Conan animated series of the early 90s drew the inspiration for the snake-men concept from. I loved that show as a kid and the production team did a great job of making a fantasy show for a younger audience while keeping the spirit of the REH fictional universe.

And I was going to ask on your new updated video but the comments are turned off but my question is would you guys ever consider doing a narration for Ursula K Le Guin’s Earthsea series’s? Even if you had to do them in parts. Also for shorter stories all in one go works for me cause I listen to hour long story’s while I work. Also in the order that you do playlist for stories I think chronological order in terms of original release is how they should be organized!

Could we get an audio rendition of the short story where Kull is explored the Easter of Thuria to the edge of the known world? Is it true he encounter a supernatural being there? I don't have the short stories but seems a fascinating story
we'll keep an eye out for them, but unfortunately most of them aren't public domain as the were finished and release by other authors after REHs lifetime

@@habibikebabtheiii2037 currently we aren't sure. we'll proceed with Kull and Conan and Solomon Kane with a look to expanding into Howards cthulhu stories as a bridge to possibly doing Lovecraft in the future. but it is very possible as we have had requests for the El Borak stories.
@@TheCybrarian definitely do el borak that would be great you should also check out Harold Lamb. He is most famous for history books but he also wrote pulps and his character Khlit the Cossack was big influence on Conan. The university of Kyiv made an article called the Ukrainian grandfather of Conan the barbarian.

we reckon the earth probably used to be run by lizard people, like David Icke said, but they all left a few years ago and that's why no-one seems to have a clue what they're doing or what's going on coz there's no-one in charge anymore, haha

IIRC, Howard himself said that Shadow Kingdom was inspired by the story of Sampson in the bible. But the idea of shapeshifting serpent people is no too unique in myth and folklore. Makes sense, snakes flare up a number of human fears, and it is likely, as with any type fear mongering, the conspiracy theory likely comes from a place of dehumanizing those who are found to be disagreeable.
@jewLUBEkneegahRsWHINE no no, I mean Robert E Howard from Cross Plains, Texas, the author most known for writing the Conan stories between 1932 and 1936, in a letter very specifically named Samson from the Bible as an influence on his writing, by name and by specific story from the Bible. Robert E Howard has also written another story about that idea the classic story of hero slays reptilian creature. But in regards to the Shadow Kingdom, this very specific story, Robert E Howard cited the story of Samson from the Bible.

The author is still alive and still writing and seems like a swell guy , If you want to cross all your t and dot all your is I’s maybe try contacting him ? I can definitely see you doing a marvelous job and it’s a lot of contact , I for one would pledge a patreon if you did so as would many others I bet.
@@brotherhec2403 thats great, and we've said before in reference to 'hour of the dragon' that we'd probably meed to some kind of patreon or something if we were doing novel length works (the longest story we've managed so far is still under 4 hours, hour of the dragon and dnd books are 8-10+)
