    For good initial break-in: 10W30 (non-synthetic) for the first 8 hrs of run time --> Change the oil and put 10W30 Full synthetic for the next 50 hrs of run time --> Change the oil every 20 hours moving forward. This generator needs 1 quart plus 8.5 ounces. I had to do lots of research on this generator to find this info. I also keep a solar trickle charger on my battery at all times to make sure the batter remains in good health.

      So...if you need to run generator continuously due to power outage, you'd have to change oil daily?!

    • @thechuckster1971
      @thechuckster1971 2 роки тому +10

      I would do initial 15 minutes with no load, change oil. Then 15 minutes with small load, change oil. Another 30 to 60 minute change oil. I repeat the last break in of 30-60 minute w/load until I see no more aluminum flakes in the warm oil from change. Usually takes at least 4 oil changes to remove all the internal machining metal flakes. This will be the difference between years of service or a year of service.

      As this generator uses a beater do NOT use synthetic - foaming and cavitation will occur depriving engine from max oil.

    We have used the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!

    I bought the same model a few weeks ago. Ran it in for 5 hours, changed the oil, then used it to power our 42 ft RV for 4 straight nights. On gas, not propane. The weather was close to 100 degrees each day, lows around 90*, so both of the AC units ran basically non-stop each night. It would run out of fuel at exactly 10 hours, like clockwork. Performed flawlessly. That put the hour meter at 45, so it got another oil change to full synthetic. Next try will be on propane!

    • @Jimmy2Tech

      Fantastic! Glad to hear that it has worked flawlessly for you. It really is a great unit. Good to know the gas works great. We were excited that it runs both, especially with gas prices running so high. But who knows. Propane might be going up soon as well (-_-)

      $100 a day to run it? Or what do you mean by $100 a day

    • @danm400
      @danm400 Рік тому +1

      @@Plvltchick It was the outdoor temperature, which was hitting 100 degrees each day. I updated my post to clarify that. Cost per day varies, depending on generator run time and fuel prices (which still really suck). My unit would burn a 5 gallon jug each night, so if gas was $3 per gallon, that is $15.

    Couple of things you forgot.
    1. Even though there is documentation online that says this unit comes as a floating ground, it is in fact BONDED from the factory. If you open the horizontally vented side panel that you can see at 3:00. You will find a small yellow cable with a green line on it that travels from the neutral to ground bolt. If you are back feeding a residential property, make sure to remove the bonding cable.
    2. The unit does have a choke lever. I've never had to use it, but I believe you will need to use it if you have to pull start the unit. You can see the small metal lever at 15:22 just above the left latch on the fusebox.

    • @juansifuentes3917

      I have this exact model, but added natural gas conversion. I have only run it on propane and natural gas. I am concerned about running on gasoline due to the potential fuel selector issue. I recently bought an all electric house so I will give it a go on gasoline.
      Doing the natural gas conversion is not cheap, but it gives unlimited supply of fuel (it uses a LOT of natural gas). The proper 3/4” ID hoses are not cheap. I added a soft start to my downstairs 4 ton AC which draws just under 30 amps and it ran fine during testing.
      Cost for everything was just over $3,500. $1400 generator, $300 for plumber adding natural gas valve, $900 for electrician which included 50 amp exterior outlet, $400 for Micro Air soft start, around $400 for natural gas conversion kit and hose. $50 to make a 50 amp suicide cord (I was dual purposing my 50 amp outlet to be able to power my RV). Luckily, I had great help from my neighbor who is an electrical engineer. Don’t use a suicide cord if you don’t absolutely know what you’re doing! I only went this large of a generator to power the AC. I made it thru the Texas Snowmageddon fine using a HF Predator 3500 that ran 12 hours straight one night at -2 degrees!!

      Realistically it can run most of the things needed during a power outage. A 3 ton Ac unit uses about 10,500 watts to start up which is probably the largest item in your home as far as start up power but you could also install a soft start to lower the required power. Not sure if you are going to use it in the event of a power outage but you could.

You won’t be able to run much else since natural gas has less power than propane. I was also using a Microair soft start on my AC. 3/4” ID natural gas hose is expensive. I moved recently so I can’t use natural gas now😢

The hot water and refrig are switched to propane when off grid and we don't use the microwave or hair blower unless we shut off the AC first. I converted it to Tri-fuel but on gasoline it will run 10 hours on 1.25 gallons. Why would I want a huge 13000 watt gas hog generator when I can run my whole house on 4200 watts.

    I just purchased the 12000EH for my 50amp camper but the outlets won’t work when I run it…. Everything else in the camper works just not the outlets.
    It’s has a 120V / 120V/240V switch, which I had set to the 120V setting.
    My outlets work without the generator hooked up, but once it’s hooked up they aren’t working.
    Any tips or suggestions? Going crazy trying to figure it out lol. Would greatly appreciate some feedback

      Hello Nick,
      That is a hard one to answer due to each rig having different setups. I would say check the circuit breaker on the generator first. Has your rig been set up for a generator, if so maybe check the transfer switch if it has one. Make sure you have power coming out of the generator also. Can't be 100 percent sure. Please let us know when you figure it out, I am curious. Sorry could not be more help.

      @@Jimmy2Tech I appreciate the fast reply! My Go Power inverter was reading that it was receiving 50amps so I’m confident there was power coming out. I’m going to play with it some more tomorrow and if I find a solution I will let you know. Thank you for the response!

      Have not tried it but I would say no. Only because it does not mention it anywhere in the book.

      Yes with natural gas conversion kit connected directly to existing propane hose that goes to carburetor. Do your research, not all kits work. There is a popular video showing how to convert with a plastic piece that goes in front of carburetor, but I never could get it to work and I got zero support from them after multiple calls! No wonder the video’s comments are turned off. Simpler the better!!

    Necesito un generador para conectar dos rotomartillos cada uno requiere 3.000 watts de potencia y sierras eléctricas? total 9.000 watts de potencia este generador me sirve para conectar todas estas máquinas simultáneamente???

    • @Jimmy2Tech
      @Jimmy2Tech  Рік тому

      If your total wattage is only 9000 watts then this generator will handle the load.

And what is with of voila hand movements and all the music and production value? Just look at the camera, point at the right stuff, say the damned words.
