I am really liking the piano music, very fitting !I don't have a chain saw, I am not much at building things but I love the outdoors and Outdoors with the Morgans!
Beautiful wood, each slice you take off is like opening up a photo art book not knowing what you will see next, i have always loved beautiful wood and what can be done with it. Thanks i really enjoyed this video.
I love Cherry wood and love making things out of cherry wood too! The first thing that I ever made was in shop class back when I was in the 7th grade. I glued up some Cherry and then turned my mother a matching set of candle holders that have sit on her piano ever since. Great video!
Good video. I along with so many others enjoy your videos and know how much work there is to make and prepare a video but you are a lifeline to those of us who are required to stay at home stareing at the familiar walls. THANK YOU.
Hey Mike, Mike here..... I was a Shop Teacher for 33 yrs. when I started I taught Wood Shop and Mechanical Drafting/Architectural Drafting and I am like you. Not very artistic with my wood working .... more traditional... I am always amazed at some o the pieces of beautiful wood like your Cherry and what some people can do with it... Beautiful...
Good morning friends! Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Keep your heads up and press on. Thanks for the videos Mike, Melissa and family.
Mike & Melissa - Another great video. I have a pickup, and could come and get one of those cherry slabs, and bring it back here to Davenport, but I don't have the talent to work with it once I get it here. That is beautiful wood. I love the color and the grain. Thanks for sharing. Blessings to you both, and your family. Hi Hunter.
Good morning Mike and Melissa, boy it’s greening up really bright around there with all the cool temps and wet weather 👍👍. Thanks again for Ariat sharing with your channel ! They do have great looking clothes and cool models too! Thanks for sharing with us and keep them rolling, nice art inside that Cherry Tree. Fred.
Hi guys , just got home . I"m retiring for the day . So ya"ll are the first videos I watch , so relaxing , ya"ll are so humble . I love that about you. All my blessings to the Family. Stay Safe
Thanks for great videos !!! The cherry keep it damp to wet for the next month !!! This will help keep it from splitting !!! Thanks as always keep it up !!!
Greetings from No VT - These are great examples of the reality that some of the ugliest trees yield the most interesting grain and colors. I know a lot of the bigger saw mills won't fool with these logs but up here a lot of the individuals with mills and even some of the smaller sawmills stockpile these type logs and when they have a pause in the regular activity they mill up these live edge beauties. A number of years ago I had a miller tell me he was selling some of his most unusual and colorful slabs internationally for phenomenal amounts and the buyers were happily paying incredible shipping costs to get them.
I can't say good morning to ya's as it's11-30pm, Sat night here in Brisbane, Australia, so, good evening"Outdorgans". Wow, I wish I could get a slab of that sent here for my bar top, very pretty timber and grain, love the fork aswell. Cheers guys, keep em coming, love your channel, Have a day guys
Greetings from Ontario, Canada. Another great video. Not sure if you have had this suggested previously. A possible use for your slab wood would be to chip it where it sits into your dump trailer. Then spread it out on your walking trails especially on the really muddy parts.
Sawmill envy!!! Ahhhhh!!! Dude...I gotta get a bandsaw mill on our place! Many blessing for your family Mike..stay safe and be careful out there #stoneyridgefarmer
Great coffee table top or small kitchen table - Acrylic top w/ live edge both. Clean out the seam and again acrylic fill there. Love cherry, but do not have tools to work that slab with. That would do someone proud to have it. Happy to see you were curious enough what it would look like opened up.
Good morning to the Morgan family. Looks like you've been dealt some lemons. Nice lemonade! Blessings on you and yours. Oh, darn! I almost forgot: Top of the mornin' to you, Hunter. (Hunter has to be the shyest celebrity I've ever seen. That's to be admired.)
Its already been noted but there are a bunch of craftsmen salivating to get their hands on some of this stuff. The bark is different from what I see out here on the West Coast.
Mike after I watched today’s episode I went back tp your beginning and RE-watched your first. You guys have done so well in growing in this channel. Your original intro was awesome. I really would like to dive into it myself one day. I invite everyone to go back and see where the channel first started. You guys make my day every day. 😀
The Post Office trip is excitement at its finest. I spoke to my wife who is Posted in Rome, and her excitement was walking to the Glass Recycling Bell Bin down the Road. Small things are important during this Isolation.
A slab about 2 inches thick out of the middle of that cherry log would make a beautiful coffee table top. I would love a slab like that, but could never afford one.
The live-edge cherry slabs could easily be "book-matched" & made into a gorgeous cherry tabletop. Save the best looking 2 slabs that were cut back-to-back & you'll be able to have a fabulous table made out of "book-paged" slabs. What is book-paging or book-matching? It's a simple process. Just as you've sawn that cherry, open 2 of them like a pair of book-pages to expose two nearly identical mirror-image slab surfaces. Then cut the inner two edges straight and edge-glue those 2 pieces together in that "open-book" orientation. Some clear acrylic can be poured into any split crevices in the slabs. Those cherry slabs are genuinely worth A LOT of money(!)so don't give 'em away...you'd be throwing away MONEY if you did that. Any furniture maker would gladly buy it and make into tabletops! It's TRULY worth a BUNCH of money to you and will be able to provide many generations of deep enjoyment and family use.
Looks like you are getting the same weather we are experiencing in Southern Ohio ... cold, rainy , and windy to the point you just want to stay inside and watch Outdoors With The Morgan’s videos. 🤷🏼♂️. That Cherry log looks beautiful, hopefully someone will do it right and turn it into something beautiful. Hey Hunter! ✋🏻👴🏻
Good looking Log after it came off the saw mill
Beautiful stuff after opening the logs!!👍👊
I am really liking the piano music, very fitting !I don't have a chain saw, I am not much at building things but I love the outdoors and Outdoors with the Morgans!

Beautiful wood, each slice you take off is like opening up a photo art book not knowing what you will see next, i have always loved beautiful wood and what can be done with it. Thanks i really enjoyed this video.

Mike you are so right about how often wood like that is trashed and there are people who will pay big bucks for it to make furniture from
Good morning friends! Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Keep your heads up and press on. Thanks for the videos Mike, Melissa and family.
That live-edge stuff is TOTALLY my jam....now all I need is a hardwood forest and a saw mill!

Cherry is great wood. Pretty and durable. You can use all the scraps in the smoker. Makes fantastic pulled pork.
Good intro music! Your videos always get me motivated! Thanks for positive videos during a negative time.

Good morning Hunter. Mike, that's really nice of you guys to give out those gift cards.
Thank you for sharing your day.
Greetings from Ontario, Canada. Another great video. Not sure if you have had this suggested previously. A possible use for your slab wood would be to chip it where it sits into your dump trailer. Then spread it out on your walking trails especially on the really muddy parts.
Looks like you can make two or three sets of end tables and coffee tables absolutly awesome.
Would make a great table. The split can be stopped with a butterfly joint. God bless
Another great video from the Morgan’s!! Have a day!!
Nothing Ugly about Cherry. Plus the Scrap pieces can be used in the Smoker and it gives a Fantastic flavor. 👍
I think he was referring to how it looked when it was a tree, the ends don't look nice and the bark doesn't improve the appearance.
Whoa..... That cherry would make a beautiful rifle stock... Down here in Texas, you're right Mike. Don't get a chance to see a grain that nice
Wow!!! It takes a Tractor to do the work of Melissa when she is not there to manage lumber coming off the mill!!!💪💪💪👠👠👠
Sawmill envy!!! Ahhhhh!!! Dude...I gotta get a bandsaw mill on our place! Many blessing for your family Mike..stay safe and be careful out there #stoneyridgefarmer
If only I was able to do something with that cherry. I love cherry gun stocks.
Congratulations Roy!!

Beautiful piece of lumber!
That would make a nice coffee table.
Good morning Morgan's. Time to enjoy another fine video while drinkin' BRCC coffee with Mike N' Melissa, on this overcast morning.
CAF this AM. The Morgans seem to sweep out the cobwebs, as it were.
Love the look of cherry. Beautiful grain on that nasty log.
those slabs would make great live edge coffee tables
Beautiful wood. You should get a turkey call maker to make you a pot or box call out of some of it.
Great looking slabs 😉👍
To bad, I'm all the way out in Central Oregon...That log is Beautiful!!
Nice choices of music today. It went well with the video and breakfast.
Beautiful cherry wood. Enjoyed the video!
Beauty so much you could do with that slab have a day
Beautiful piece of wood!!
If you took two of those slabs and joined them together at the narrow ends you could have a really cool and rustic coffee table.
Really really nice cherry. I am baffled how big your cherry gets compared to upper most Wisconsin.
Nice cherry log!
Love the music at 9:20!
Its already been noted but there are a bunch of craftsmen salivating to get their hands on some of this stuff. The bark is different from what I see out here on the West Coast.
I thought that ugly log was useless, OMG, how beautiful the slab was after it was cut. Stay safe.
whole nother story after it dries, most cherry gets crooked during drying times
No Cherry actually dries pretty nice, much more stable than a lot of other woods around here
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans i mill in va, most cherry here is twisty
Those are great slabs.
I'd like a slab of that, Mike!

I, too, have had to go back and catch up on back episodes and declare that it's worth the effort.

Hey Mike it looks to me that you have the start to some beautiful benches !!

"What's the worst that could happen"... weren't those Custer's last words? Peace, love the channel. Hope your family are all safe and healthy.
I’m from mr. golski waynesburg high school wood shop class
Nice counter top material...
Melissa ALWAYS looks so elegant! Even in ripped jeans!!
With I lived closer to you. I'd love to have a piece of that cherry. Looks like it'd make nice live edge table. I'm in NC, that's a long ride for me.
Wow nice video friend stunning landscape 346 like
Nice slabs. Should have milled em 12/4. For when you go to flatten them after drying.
