Really like this new concept of showing both sides of the mill instead of one or the other ! Really lets you see the whole mill working at once ! Great team work !!

Congratulations on 60K!! Never thought I'd be so happy for a sawing video every week. Wish u guys had shirts for large men like 5xl. But going grab some stickers

Great video Mark and Eddie and ZZ Mark. Congratulations on reaching 60k subscriber's, well done everyone. Very nice Cherry board's off that log. Glad to hear ZZ Mark's feeling a bit better. Hope everyone's keeping well. Take care.
Thank you very much for an outstanding sawing video! That first cherry log was a dandy! Just absolutely beautiful cherry lumber. You were sawing nearly clear boards right down to a 4x4 heart can’t. That was indeed a nice stick of cherry! Really like the new camera angles that feature The Eddie and ZZ Mark. Those guys really know how to make a bundle of stickered grade lumber look beautiful!
loving the new camera angles ,winner all round greetings from down under its our summer here but its looking like your winter here strange times in deed
Boy you weren’t kidding. That was a beautiful cherry log. And so was that maple. Hard to find without ambrosia and to be that clear. Nice stuff. Thanks Mark.
Glad to see Eddie got him some new britches. I believe ZZ needs some good ole chicken nootle soup to nurse him past his cold. Great lloking cherry lumber. I wish I had some but I don't know what I'd do with it! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Mark and the gang I always enjoy your experiments with different camera placements, it's been cool to see what Eddie and Marks work on the other side of the blade looks like! Do you have a magnetic or clamp go pro mount? It could be fascinating to see some shots from maybe the last dog tower of a log giving through the blade and being turned by chewy, could call it Log Cam lol. Anyway keep safe, keep warm and keep on sawing

@@markgalicic7788 here in Ontario we are 2.20 a litre for road diesel, and coloured is only 10 cents less. What a scam. That’s probably around 5 dollars Canadian a gallon, which is what, about a dollar US. Just kidding. Congrats on .60k.
It is always good to see you guys working in the cold. To bad that you do not have a big building to run your operation in. I just ordered a couple of stickers for my brother.
10/4 on getting away from the micro-managing. All my draglining was by myself unless there was someone there hooking mats. Thye self-made millionaire here had a big Miller welder with a Kubota motor pulling it/ He was stopping up dump bed hooles and the welder got to sputtering and gagging and quit. It had a regular metal body fuel filter in nthe line. We took it off and beat it backwards and a pile of the off road red dye came out. Put it back on and BZZZZT it went. Might be that with the bus motor. Glad it's fixed. Happy week and God Bless!
That first log was a true gem. It's hard to understand why someone would let a log like that lay around long enough that it began to rot. But you got some primo boards.
Glad to see you using a metal detector. I use them myself. I find metal in logs more often if they were close to homes or out buildings. Lately I am finding a lot of bullets (lead and jacketed) in logs 50 to 100 yards from homes. I often leave them imbedded in the wood. Makes for interesting talking points in furniture. Have a wonderful day. Fr.Tim iistowanohpataakiiwa, blackfoot elder
Nice new camera angle. Have you ever considered mounting a camera on the log as it was being cut, or maybe on the carriage? It would take some extra work but would be a great shot. Keep up the good work.
@@markgalicic7788 It’s a solid built machine but has some flaws. The feed belts are notorious for not tracking, they always wander to one side or the other when you try to adjust them. The lock mechanism for the movable saw is a poor design that I gave up trying to fix and instead use a vise grip to lock the saw in place every time I change board width. Robert said they still use the same design which I can hardly believe. And we were sawing banana boards for a long time due to misalignments, we finally got that squared away with roberts help.
Mark I was wondering if maybe you couldn't do like a diesel engine oil warmer to keep you're hydraulics warm in the winter months? That way it'll go a little faster in the beginning of your cutting day.
Mark, I enjoy your videos! Just curious, I am sure that different woods take more horsepower to saw than others but as you were talking about diesel fuel and buying 100 gallons at a time it made me curious as to what kind of fuel burn per hour do you get on average with the bus motor? Keep up the great videos!
Mark: A few questions about the Cherry and Maple: Did you see any Curly wood in those boards that you sawed ? 2. Length of those boards ? 3. Are they going straight into a Kiln, or being air dried ?
I am not Mark. I worked in a retail store that sold all kinds of domestic wood and imported wood. I put away and milled thousands of board feet of cherry and maple. When naming the wood, curly and tiger were the same type of pattern in the wood. Curly or tiger in soft maple was common and much less common in the hard maple we sold. I never saw a tiger cherry board but I did see a few with the same pattern that is referred to as curly in white oak. The same pattern is common in yellow birch. The pattern is completely different than the tiger pattern.

If you ran the boards through the blade slower, would it decrease the saw marks, increase them, or make no difference?
if you go to slow the saw will heat up , saw marks don't matter they plane out.

I know that this question has probably been asked before, but what powerplant are you using to drive the sawmill?
Detroit Diesel iirc.
Australia it is $ 2;35 a liter. So for a gallon of diesel would be around $8.883 down under.
wow not good.
Fuel is so expensive in Aust. and so is electricity
Maybe you could install a oil warmer like they do for truck and car engines.
There would still be cold oil in the hundred feet of hydraulic lines.
