  • Derby Warehouse reviews the Moxi Panther Skates.
    Available at www.derbywareh...
    The Moxi Panther Skates are the beautiful result of combining the stiff reinforcements of the well-loved Jack boots with more recreational plates and wheels that are exactly the same as the Beach Bunny or Jungle Skates from Moxi. This would be a perfect skate for a recreational skater that is curious about getting into the skate park because they have strong reinforcements and a solid foundation to build off of and grow with.

    Just bought the panther already own a jack boot and previously owned the beach bunny I just love how affordable they are and I feel less terrible destroying them at the skatepark!

    I lovvvve love LOVE the panther skate! Everything u mentioned is correct 😍 the only downfall is these skates don’t fit size 65mm wheels. YOU WILL get wheel bite. I usually skate on 62’s or less so it’s not a problem but some may want to kno this. Regardless this skate is amazing and I def recommend getting these!!

      They're great skates! And that's so interesting, the kingpins are quite long but I've put some tiny wheels on them with no issues!

    They are really nice skates, I have had mine for about 3 years, super comfortable (but it took about 10 hours to brake them.. painful, but after that, they were like gloves). Now I just bought jacks ONE. Will see. I also have the OG 172! Amazing skates, but I only use them indoors.

    My Beachbunnys (they use the same Marvel Plate) got an little extra change: I was always „grinding“ on the kingpins at every edge I rolled above. So I change the kingpins into shorter ones. Then the cushions were to big, so I also changed them with the powerdyne ones that were on the Lolly. Now there are working pretty well 😅

    I got these a while back. They don't make Lolly's small enough for my feet ( I take a size 2 mens) and I wanted suede. They are very heavy. I switched the plates to a Powerdyne Thrust, and Powerdyne soft (red) cushions and Im gliding with ease...so much lighter

    Hi so I have the panthers and love the boot and was wondering if up grading to Radar Energy Wheels - 57MM would make a difference? I skate outside 5-7 days a week and when I attempt to skate on sidewalks or asphalt it's really bumpy; outside of that its fine. I am a beginner so not sure if I should keep the wheels or upgrade...thoughts? thanks

    • @DerbyWarehouse
      @DerbyWarehouse  Рік тому +3

      Hey there! The Radar energy wheels are super smooth and very enjoyable but they have very similar properties to the wheels that come on your skates at 78A and 57mm (panthers are 58mm) The road may feel more responsive to you as the plates are made of metal. This is common and most get used to it but it is a bigger learning curve than plastic plates although they will last much longer! Softer cushions may help make the experience better on your trucks and also larger wheels with a good softness. The larger the wheel the easier it is to get over cracks and bumps but they may be harder to manage. So I would recommend changing your cushions to the soft version of these first www.derbywarehouse.com/PowerDyne_Universal_Magic_Cushions_8pk/descpage-MAGICUN.html

    I just received mine today. I allready love them. I'm interested in using them at the skating rink as well. I noticed there are so many sizes and the current wheels say 58mm. Can you recommend any or at least the sizing? Thanks

    • @DerbyWarehouse
      @DerbyWarehouse  2 роки тому +1

      Absolutely! All of these wheels here will fit your skates: www.derbywarehouse.com/Dance_Wheels/catpage-ARTRYTHYM.html They are all dance wheels, they're the perfect shape and hardness for the rinks if you're trying to get fancy. I just checked for compatibility and all of them will fit your Panthers. Even the smallest, the Radar Crush Wheels will fit but with very small clearance to your kingpins and you probably won't want those because they are intended for outdoor dance skating. I would stay around 55mm or 57mm for your first rink wheels just because smaller wheels mean less speed but the hardness will make them feel faster!

      @@DerbyWarehouse thankyou. Do magic cushions come with the cushion retainers?
      I also have a question about wheels, I'm looking for an _excellent_ outdoor wheel that's good for trail skating as well as a bit of jam/artistic skating too, what do you recommend?
      (I have moxi BB's) I was looking at the radar energy wheels, would I notice a big difference between the moxi BB stock wheels and the radar energys?
      would you recommend using different wheels for trail and artistic/jam and swapping them out depending on what I was doing or are there any that you recommend is good for _both?_
      I like the 58mm size wheels on the BB's for artistic/jam so I'd like to stick with that size even though I know it's not ideal for speed when trail skating

      @@Feg1989 Hey so first, the retainers are available separately here: www.derbywarehouse.com/PowerDyne_Cushion_Retainers/descpage-PDCR.html and I would certainly feel the difference between the Moxi stock wheels and the Radar Energy's but not every skater would, they are quite similar as they have 78A but the sizes would be fun to experiment with.
      If you're going into rinks I do recommend having artistic wheels for the rink: www.derbywarehouse.com/Dance_Wheels/catpage-ARTRYTHYM.html because they are quite different.
      Here is a video we have about wheel durometer: ua-cam.com/video/U716SiZHbUU/v-deo.html&t
      The Moxi Fundae are a hybrid wheel made for multi-use and they sound like everything you're looking for to me: www.derbywarehouse.com/Moxi_Fundae/descpage-MOXIFD.html and so are the Moxi Trick Wheels but these are a bit better of a profile for park skating www.derbywarehouse.com/Moxi_Trick/descpage-122931.html and one more that is dance-specific but you can use as you'd like is the Piper Lucky Wheels www.derbywarehouse.com/Piper_Lucky/descpage-PPLY.html
      Lastly I would just like to say that all of this is going to come down to your preferences. Finding the best wheel for you is just like finding the right boot for you because everyone is different 💜 Please let us know if we can help with anything else!

    • @DerbyWarehouse
      @DerbyWarehouse  2 роки тому +4

      They will, but they will be slow as they are softer and intended for outdoor use (which is nice for beginners). Try them indoors and see how they feel, if and when you feel like they are holding you back and rolling too slowly, update your wheels with dance wheels or wheels with a higher hardness 😊

      Hey Brigitta! Thank you for asking us, here is our sizing guide www.derbywarehouse.com/learningcenter/bootskatesizingguide.html we recommend going off of your foot measurement rather than by shoe size because skates usually have very different sizing. Also, the Panther's are Moxi's widest skate so you should be good!

      What size did you ended up buying? I am size 7.5 and I bought 7. They were hard in the beginning, took about 15 hrs to break in. Thrse sizes are so ify. For example I have the OG 172 Riedell size 6 men, D. Perfect, I even put a sole inside. But get this, I bought Jack 1 size 6 men, they are too small. Since I custom made them, I couldn't return 😒.
      Now thinking of my panthers, they must be men's so they fit 8 size women, but they fit me just right me being size 7.5.
      I am curious what size you bought.

  • @Sky_moondance
    @Sky_moondance Рік тому +1

    They aren't perfect outdoor wheels ...maybe if you're not from the sh*city but for me waaay to slow, stick to every pot hole and mos def feel it in your knees and back, plus they are super heavy.. cushions def need to be changed. Still, that being said, a sweet ride when adjusting is made better stability and construction then the lollies. 🎉

    • @DerbyWarehouse
      @DerbyWarehouse  Рік тому

      The wheels are outdoor wheels, at 78A they should make debris feel better but it's normal for them to feel sticky on certain terrains (potholes definitely do not help). The wheels aren't for everyone but they are a nice size and hardness for most beginners and most outdoor skaters. The cushions aren't so awesome but they're easy to upgrade once you know what kind you'd like! I agree with you on the construction, highly durable and very stable, I always recommend these to people that are looking for a durable skate! 😊

    Hey, so I just got some Panthers. The padding on the tongue really presses on my toes in the front. Can someone maybe tell me, whether this stops After breaking in?🥲

    • @DerbyWarehouse
      @DerbyWarehouse  2 роки тому +6

      Try pulling the tongue up more before lacing, also perhaps a different lacing technique could help, or stretchy laces. The laces that come on them are very strong and don't stretch very easily. They will mold to your foot eventually because they are suede and you can lightly heat mold the toe box if you'd like. Another tip is to lace your skates while standing, your feet change their shape when you stand on them so lacing while you're standing or putting pressure on your feet can help you find those pressure points that are uncomfortable.

    • @Sky_moondance
      @Sky_moondance Рік тому +2

      I had the same issue but after lacing them up properly/ standing up with the right socks, all good... just like leather boots, worth the time put in. That being said I did go a half size up because my big toe flexes when I skate and your feet swell... skate to freedom ❤
