Yeah like holy shit. If they do buy ea out, the absolute best case scenario, where americans completely cut ties with EA, refuse to buy their products, etc. still involves tons of job loss here and a fairly big hit to a sector of the economy. @@marekjanik9962 because tencent is a Chinese company that is absolutely taking over the gaming market and buying out game companies and studios left and right. They are a massive player in the free to play space and their goal is strictly money. True, EA is greedy... but they still have a sliver (like really really small sliver) of decency. You see that peak through with games like Jedi fallen order and apex legends (although free to play) and Star Wars squadrons... they could do much better but if they are bought and controlled by tencent, you can certainly expect the worst monetization practices ever... along with the fact that freedom of expression is already dying in games due to the CCP getting offended by anything and everything. Hey it may happen, and THEN we will have to face a horrible future for most people. America’s greed has made China rich and created a monster. The worst collective decision by the west in the 90s was to move factories to China, and then let China copy and steal tech secrets for decades.
That’s put The US in a bad position, but it still has a lot going for it: it still controls most of the world organisations which it helped found. The worlds emergency currency is the dollar. Its army is second to none. It has the world’s leading tech companies which continue to grow and dominate. Most immigrants in the world, including scientists and students want to live in the US because they have more individual freedoms than in China. It’s has the world’s top universities which produce some of the leading minds. There are many more advantages I could list.

I mean Tencent is handling COD Mobile which fucking slaps, and despite being a F2P mobile game has many aspects that are better the 2 newest main games:
-Better Monitization (not sure if thats due Tencent being good or Activision just being monstrous POS by comparison)
      -Less hackers and bugs
-More frequent content updates which include 1 to 2 new guns and a new MAP each season as well as a variety of new events even when there aren't holidays.
      - Better community interaction with development team.
      -Better balancing of weapons.
And more small tweaks that make it the definitive COD experience until Activision GETS THEIR SHIT TOGETHER!!!

It's not just Tencent, people aren't paying attention. International conglomerates are taking over everything in every market. Massive American companies Anheuser-Busch was purchased by a Brazilian company InBev and merged to form another company. This merger made some of the largest American owned and made beer brands like Rolling Rock and Budweiser the property of an international conglomerate. R. J. Reynolds merged with British American Tobacco in 2004, R. J. Reynolds acquired Lorillard (Newport) in 2014 and in 2017 British American Tobacco completed the purchase buying the rest of R J Reynolds. There are more and more examples of this because it is often hidden in friendlier terms like merger to start and later end in complete acquisition. Except in every merger, one company becomes the parent company and holds the power and money. Later on leads to a complete take over like British American Tobacco did with R J Reynolds over the course of 13 years. Slow and deliberate gets by regulations easily. American made and owned is starting to disappear.
Get ready for assembled in America the story of how our brands were taken over by the rest of the world.

The assumption that geolocking is only done for "fairness" so that everyone pays an amount equivalent to their relative country's wealth unfortunately assumes that companies are being straight with us. They often aren't, and will deliberately overcharge in some regions where they think they can get away with it (then moan when people circumvent those restrictions). Never, ever trust a profit making company to decide what constitutes fairness.

Kreia is trying to rebalance the Force, but she knows she can't do it, so she threatens to destroy it hoping the Exile, the only personified scar in the Force, would stop her, which achieves her intended outcome. That's an incredibly over-simplified summary, but that basically is the story in a nutshell. Even without the fixes, it's a good game that was under-rated for its time.

@@remielpollard787 I’m not saying the main story was difficult to understand. The atmosphere, themes and overarching plot were great. It also subverted a lot of Star Wars tropes which was refreshing. However, presentation is still important. It’s a shame that they created such an ambitious project but were unable to give it the polish it deserved due to time constraints. Bugs, underdeveloped subplots and janky story progression just gives it such a stilted and sloppy feel at times. Nihlus was also incredibly anticlimactic, presumably for the same reasons. In short, I love the game and that’s why I’m so disappointed that it never got the year or so it would have needed to match the technical quality of the first as it surpassed it in many other ways.

So, everything else aside, because I agree on the technical problems, this one, no. Nihilus was anticlimactic on purpose, along with Sion, are meant to be defeated without direct combat. This is intended. The purpose is that fighting them is not how to beat them, because some fights can't be won. Sometimes, what you see as a fight is actually not a fight at all. Nihilus is an important one. The reason you can't fight him is because he has already lost. He is defeated. He is hanging on to existence by the threads of the existence of others, and is already doomed. The same is true for Sion, and the same is true for Traya, which is why you don't actually fight her, just her floating swords. This is intended, and part of the theme of the story.

I understand it’s difficult to “flesh out” a character such as Nihlus but- considering the devs were rushed and he’s more prominent towards the end of the game- I always felt this wasn’t originally intended. I’ll need to replay the game in full to see if I still feel this way, last few times I’ve tried to get back into it I’ve experienced game breaking bugs a few hours in which sort of kills my appetite to persist lol

I actually don't know if that is a thing but this is the same as it would be in the EU between Austria and Poland for example. And the pricing is not like: "Cheap for the less rich regions" it more like way more expensive to the "richer regions". So to me it is absolutely justified to block that geo-pricing within the EU.

If it hasn’t been done already, someone needs to develop a Civilization esque game with Star Wars as the theme. Troops, buildings, credit currency, real characters included in the diplomacy dialogues etc

The EU thing stops Valve from selling Bulgaria at one price while preventing France (due to region locking) from getting the same deal as Valve sells at a higher price in France.
Also how is it in the US? As their states are like countries.
