If they remake KOTOR, or do a new one, I'd be happy to hear it was Obsidian doing it. They made the sequel, KOTOR II, and given the circumstances of its development, they did an excellent job.
A remake of KOTOR 2 where they actually got the chance to finish the game would be great. I know the Restored Content mod exists but it's still a bit of a mess all things considered.
@@mrgaudy1954 Even without the restored content mod, I had no trouble understanding the overarching story of KOTOR II, which is really what mattered the most there. Kreia is trying to rebalance the Force, but she knows she can't do it, so she threatens to destroy it hoping the Exile, the only personified scar in the Force, would stop her, which achieves her intended outcome. That's an incredibly over-simplified summary, but that basically is the story in a nutshell. Even without the fixes, it's a good game that was under-rated for its time.
@@remielpollard787 I’m not saying the main story was difficult to understand. The atmosphere, themes and overarching plot were great. It also subverted a lot of Star Wars tropes which was refreshing. However, presentation is still important. It’s a shame that they created such an ambitious project but were unable to give it the polish it deserved due to time constraints. Bugs, underdeveloped subplots and janky story progression just gives it such a stilted and sloppy feel at times. Nihlus was also incredibly anticlimactic, presumably for the same reasons. In short, I love the game and that’s why I’m so disappointed that it never got the year or so it would have needed to match the technical quality of the first as it surpassed it in many other ways.
@@mrgaudy1954 "Nihlus was also incredibly anticlimactic,..." So, everything else aside, because I agree on the technical problems, this one, no. Nihilus was anticlimactic on purpose, along with Sion, are meant to be defeated without direct combat. This is intended. The purpose is that fighting them is not how to beat them, because some fights can't be won. Sometimes, what you see as a fight is actually not a fight at all. Nihilus is an important one. The reason you can't fight him is because he has already lost. He is defeated. He is hanging on to existence by the threads of the existence of others, and is already doomed. The same is true for Sion, and the same is true for Traya, which is why you don't actually fight her, just her floating swords. This is intended, and part of the theme of the story.
@@remielpollard787 Wasn’t meaning the fight itself with Nihlus; I actually wouldn’t have been against eliminating it as a traditional boss fight entirely. I just felt he didn’t get as much attention character-wise as Sion. I understand it’s difficult to “flesh out” a character such as Nihlus but- considering the devs were rushed and he’s more prominent towards the end of the game- I always felt this wasn’t originally intended. I’ll need to replay the game in full to see if I still feel this way, last few times I’ve tried to get back into it I’ve experienced game breaking bugs a few hours in which sort of kills my appetite to persist lol

FYI it says Immediate access to max difficulty in RE Village, you can still play max difficulty but it needs to be unlocked by completing the game in standard edition, as they have done previously...
So you understand it, the EU says you can't restrict a game to a partial market. For example the game in Greece for 49,99 € has to be buyable by everybody in the Eu, like Germans who normally pay 69,99-79,99€ for the game. Different prices are ok, the point is that everybody can buy to the cheapest price.
About inside EU pricing, immagin you have to pay 15% more for a game in Texas as you would in Minnesota. I actually don't know if that is a thing but this is the same as it would be in the EU between Austria and Poland for example. And the pricing is not like: "Cheap for the less rich regions" it more like way more expensive to the "richer regions". So to me it is absolutely justified to block that geo-pricing within the EU.
To the question of "one marketplace"; would you allow the different (US) States to set different price-tags on the same item? It is sort of the same issue, there could be good intentioned reasons to do it, but I doubt that it would actually make a difference.
13:05 Thats the thing, if you are from eastern EU where avg income e is x2 or even x3 lower then in central EU, having both places the same price for same product is kinda unfair. But thats only for gaming. Other products do get price difference between regions.
Is'nt geolocking games also to respect each markets parental guidance laws and content? As in a game is edited for market X and not market Y? For example explicit content rated X in one contry and rated XX in an other or markets just not allowing certain content so it needs to be edited out? Therefore the companys are doing it to respect laws? I have no idea if this is the case, but it seems to me the EU fined a game companys for respecting each contrys laws?
Man, imagine hating High Republic while the first book has been incredibly solid while also getting good reviews, selling well, and having a ton of promise. Damn Joe, at least look into the setting itself before writing it off. It's an era that even Legends never touched on.
If it hasn’t been done already, someone needs to develop a Civilization esque game with Star Wars as the theme. Troops, buildings, credit currency, real characters included in the diplomacy dialogues etc
The best home for a new KOTOR game is hands down Obsidian. They most recently made Outer Worlds. They did a great job on KOTOR2 although it was famously not complete.
The EU thing stops Valve from selling Bulgaria at one price while preventing France (due to region locking) from getting the same deal as Valve sells at a higher price in France. Also how is it in the US? As their states are like countries.

@Fishy Vagina Nothing is wrong with being casual the issue is, is that they'll probably focus on money. Then more money then gameplay then story. Kotor was all about story Battlefront 1 and 2 from EA were all about money at first.

yeah even more evidence that the price surge has nothing to do with the actual company. IMO it's a mix of a middle finger to Wall Street and classic hopping on the bandwagon. And I think it's primarily the later. It took off because retail investors realized collectively they had the funds to actually pull off the short squeeze.

If you think the sec only has one law about who can sell what stocks under what conditions you are mistaken.
However yes insider trading is illegal. Thus if we take your example of sec violations, if they sold of a large amount of stocks, they would limit their ability to restructure. They cannot sell of large portions of stocks and then file bankruptcy or announce the company is closing. It would give the appearance of insider trading.

The new High Republic book was really good actually. It's kind of sad seeing how ignorant Joe is being towards star wars content like just because it's not "Old Republic"
The sad part is. CPP does not have to own anything. America already bows down to them because of money. NBA, Blizzard, Hollywood, etc.
@@mrgaudy1954 "Nihlus was also incredibly anticlimactic,..."
So, everything else aside, because I agree on the technical problems, this one, no.

Oh god.... In my country it costs 5 minimum wages. AND PEOPLE ARE BUYING IT.

“gaming browser” -_-
To the question of "one marketplace"; would you allow the different (US) States to set different price-tags on the same item?
It is sort of the same issue, there could be good intentioned reasons to do it, but I doubt that it would actually make a difference.
Everyone's excited about a new KOTOR, I'm over here just wanting a Parasite Eve remake.
That would be nice, such an underrated title.
13:05 Thats the thing, if you are from eastern EU where avg income e is x2 or even x3 lower then in central EU, having both places the same price for same product is kinda unfair. But thats only for gaming. Other products do get price difference between regions.
It's going to end up with a lot of people losing money and their life savings.
