@@JediOfTheRepublic it's no more manipulation of the market than what the hedge fund company did. The hedge fund shorted over 100% of available shares, so the redditors knew that if they bought that there would be a buyer when the hedge fund bought back to cover their shorts. It was a smart buying opportunity based on publicly available data.
@@Andrew-it7fb Lets not forget that these hedge funds have "analysts" in their pocket that will downgrade the stock, and media that will release negative news to push the price down. In other words LITERALLY manipulating the market.
Originally, before anybody noticed the massive short interest, people were looking at the fundamentals of the company and potential upside and determined it was undervalued. Michael Burry invested for one reason, 'discs'. Next gen consoles are being make with disk drives still, which is when DFV YOLO'd then posted on WSB every month. Then their ecommerce sales were up over 500%, Ryan Cohen started heavily investing and sent a letter to the board, then when the price hit around $20 people realized that they were gonna get squeezed. Ryan Cohen and his time acquiring 1/3 of the board seats was the catalyst. At that point everyone knew the company was not going to 0 like the hedge funds were pushing for, so everyone knew they were going to have to cover their shorts. Did you know that not every slave liked being released? Slavery guarantees you food and shelter in return for being forced to do a job at gunpoint. When you're free, you're also responsible for obtaining your own food supply. The left wants the former for themselves. That's where "freedom is slavery" comes from. I have no interest in unity with people who've predictably created nations of slaves time and time again following the wonderful high-minded ideals of Karl Marx, and murdered over a hundred million people in the process.

@@GutsofEclipse a working-class uprising has yet to happen, so not a single nation has ever adopted Marxist ideology. I'm not saying it would or wouldn't work, but in both Soviet Russia and communist China, the government owns everything, including corporations. Meanwhile in capitalist systems, the corporations own everything. What's the difference? The United States has also brought great pain and loss around the world, though slavery in the hundreds of millions was their preference, and that's just the tip of the iceberg for both. Point is, both radical sides are terrible, but the closer we can get to that perfect balance, the middle point inbetween, taking the pros of both conservatism and liberalism, while leaving behind the cons, the better. We need both, and for a short while in the United States we had that balance, but I'm afraid that time has passed. But we should not stray from at least acknowledging and observing ideals opposing our own. Have an open mind, you don't at all need to agree with someone to at least hear them out.

They didnt “decide” hedge funds were shorting gamestop. They looked at the data and saw that it was in fact being shorted to an excessive degree. What WSB did was in no way a manipulation of the market. They saw an opportunity, banded together, and executed.
It is though.
Not to mention is wasn't a collective decision, everyone made their own choice based on risk assessment and the fundamentals and techincals.
@@evanluton4560 This. I was lurking WSB when DFV starting pointing these things out and it was all genuinely based on real fundamentals. Kicking myself now for not jumping in but at the time a lot of it was lost amongst the other WSB meme posts of other stocks.

I love that this whole thing happened. How dare "normal" people take advantage of the SAME ways these billionaires make money and screw people and companies over every single day.
It's still happening, they haven't closed their shorts yet, at the moment they lost 70+ billion dollars, if people keep holding their stocks these assholes will loose a hundred billion more. We are sqeezing the shit out of them!
HOLD!
They're all for the free market as long as it makes them rich, but as soon as the common folk start getting rich, that's where they draw the line. Makes you wonder whether they're actual capitalists or not. Whatever happened to the free market?
@@the_furry_inside_your_walls639 they are not capitalist, they are oligarchs and tyrants. They use capital to maintain their power but are not for a free market at all.
"normal people" are always involved in the market, who do you think sold all those shorts for a company that was going out of business? ... your 401k retirement and anyone they could con into thinking that was a good bet.
@boyplunger isn’t the source playing out in real time? I’ve also seen professional capitalist ideologists discuss this flaw in capitalism.
Hedge funds: “Why do I hear boss music?”

main boss... theme song.....

Where did that health bar come from?
Joe needs to revisit this... the situation has only gotten way worse for hedgefunds.
What happened?
@@mine7172 shorts never closed and GME investors are locking up the float via directly registered shares.
@@Sparklefart023what about now?
@user-yu2jm5ds2o even more relevant now!
AMC actually sold shares once they hit about $4, and I'm guessing sold more one it got around $20, so the redditors actually helped them gain liquidity to get through the pandemic. They've been struggling for months now, facing bankruptcy, and while the firms were betting on their demise, the redditors actually helped them out. Our system is so messed up.
Redditors didn’t do anything. Reddit does not have the capital to do this. There is so much misinformation going around. Other hedge funds are the ones making money
@@mathewburr2126 people are stupid they just listen to the hype.
@Serge Nativ you know who made the most profit from this. Fidelity investment, Ryan Cohen, Blackrock, vanguard and Susquehanna. Shorts have lost up to 30 billion on GameStop and if people honestly think redditors are taking home 30 billion I dont know what to say. These big guys are going to laugh their way to the bank while redditors are going to go broke
@@mathewburr2126 it was never about the money, it was about sending a message
@Serge Nativ what is it about then. I doubt you even understand how the market works. They lost 30 billion you can do 5 minutes of research. This is going to other hedge funds. All these morons that think they are sending a message are amazingly stupid. Hedge funds that trade in billions dont care about redditors holding onto a stock.
If they’re crying this much when they’re rich, imagine if they were broke
And the kicker would be they'd be powerless to change the system. No one would listen to them anymore. Our system ONLY follows the corrupt.
thats a wet dream
They will literally kill themselves!! Just like the small recession in 2008.
No survival skills just selling their assets to survive.
They couldn't hang being broke. Imagine these guys merely going from Starbucks to brewing at home? Forget it. Melt down lol
‘How dare they use our own tactics against us?!’
Exactly haha 😂
Nobody makes me bleed my own blood.

Excellent video. But you see trading just a primary knowledge of crypto. It is advisable to trade with an expert to avoid unnecessary losses.
Wow it’s nice seeing someone else boost of being financially buoyant because of the massive profits I made from trading with her.
Mrs Josephine is really an expert, I was able to revive my family’s financial status with her help. I started with $1000 and I can proudly say I’m financially fit now.
Pls what are her charges, i hope they are not very high?
Pls i would also like to learn her strategies, how can i reach her?

Thats her username on Telegram for those asking.
When I was 19, I bought 200 shares of GameStop because I was taught to buy stock in companies I liked. I made $80k profit thanks to people on Reddit. Power to the people!

I love that Joe immediately assumes its the guy in the interview who's the President of the Nasdaq, and paints him as an evil market manipulator, when he's actually just the CNBC host.

What's even funnier about this to me is there are people that don't understand that an 11,000% increase is completely normal.
