While very similar in appearance, shrimp and prawns are two distinct species. Prawns tend to be larger than shrimp, and often taste sweeter. There are more varieties of shrimp, too. Both animals have 10 legs, but prawns have pincers on three pairs of legs, while shrimp just have one clawed duo.
Just said f it and ordered an SEI Edition with a BIG early Black Friday discount AND your coupon code for $1,895 total! So stoked to go on camping trips! Great content as always, much love from Texas! Update 2/26/2024: FINALLY installed this tent on my 2021 F-150 SuperCab with a set of 5” height Billie Bars. Even had enough room to scoot it over slightly toward the passenger side and install a bike mount on the driver side. Can’t wait to take it out for a maiden voyage mountain bike camping trip. I’ll also be using it to camp at Kalash Bash in April. So excited!
4:14 - 4:24 I have the Aspen lite XL! you did mention the mounting point you can mount other things if you wanted to. What can we mount on there? Also how much weight can it hold? Awning? Yakima road shower?
oooooo air mattress standard?! I was on the fence before, but now you've changed things. That is a vital detail! 🤣🤣 I now have a ynab category, "SEI Tent" - I never thought I'd see your name in my budget bro, but here we are LMAO!! 🤣🤣
Wish I would have made it to the FreeSpirit event on the 18th. Could have shown off my 1st gen FreeSpirit tent and tried to convince them to get me one of them nice new mattresses for it.
GOOGLE DEFINITION: 🔴Shrimp have one pair of legs that include claws at the end, but prawns have three pairs with claws. Prawns also tend to have legs that are a bit longer in relation to the size of the body than shrimp of similar size.
I know you’re not using it, but any insight on the ladder design? Does it have the section at the top that allows for angling the top attachment portion to offset the ladder away from the tent for more clearance like I see on the Aspen model?
I travel full time working on towers and get paid $1750 weekly in Per Diem, I'm sick and tired of over paying for crummy hotels and AirB&Bs this tent caught my eye but I would be living in it full-time while on the road my main concern is durability during repeated use and its water tight integrity, anyone with experience please weigh in!
Just bought FSR aspen lite SEI version for pickup locally (live in Breckenridge). I have an F150 5'7" bed with ARE topper and yakima corebars installed. Any gotchas on installing on the Yak rack that you are aware of? Can i shunt the box forward a few inches off center to get even with rear of topper? Can the ladder be installed on the rear door edge with the ladder resting on open tailgate? Thx!
Thanks for showing the tent . I have an SEI version on order . My question , will it come with those spring type poles to hold the back door awning open ? thanks
@@TalonSei OK thanks . I think there is a company that sells a kit to add them . And like you said ,with the tracks around the frame it will be easy to add options . Maybe its not needed ,I will try it out first .Thanks
When I called FSR they said they were prototyping crossbars. Let us know if you hear anything. I'm not trying to put a bunch of weight up there, but I definitely need the ability to mount a solar panel on top.
They do have prototypes for testing but we still don’t know if they will be good enough to offer. If they are they will be for a relatively light weight load.
I asked fsr the same question, they told me the aspen lite is not capable of holding a solar panel on top and that the tent is not designed to open with weight on top. Solar panel for me is a must so I am not buying this tent. (Hint FSR, make it happen)
I remember you saying the ladder was going to be optional to save cost. But when I bought the lite didn’t see any add on options for the ladder? Is the ladder included or sold separate?
The mini was heavy, took awhile to set up properly, wasn’t insulated, hard mattress, no lights, no diesel hose pass through, couldn’t store bags and pillows, etc… and also costs $3,700
@@TalonSei I saw your video on the wind storm on way to overland expo in AZ. What do you think was the wind gusts speeds? Also do the panels flap much? Appeared to be minimal. One thing I couldn't stand on prior tents was "loose fabric" and the awning/pole attachments with wind noise they created. Granted that wind storm was extreme you seemed to be in but seemed to hold up well. I plan on putting in a sleeping bag, ladder, and some pillows for storage in the tent.

This is what we needed 😂
The more you know 🌈⭐
I almost think Mike left early to solve the shrimp dilemma. Are stairs and babies really a priority?! (Ya, they are).
The more you know... lol
Dat is some goooood google-fu
A video overview of the air core mattress and your preferred method for inflation and deflation would be great!

Also, 10:00 the propane heater was so bright that I needed the sunglasses, okay!
Ahhh that explains it 😎
@@TalonSei Ready for Emo night!!!!
Man I wish someday I could camp with you guys! Tent and setup looks awesome 🤩

Sick food b roll with the shrimp 🍤 📹 The tent looks crazy nice ✌️
Got my Aspen Lite on order! Can’t wait!!! 🍻
Good stuff man! I've got my Aspen Lite on order. Hoping they come out with crossbars for it and maybe an awning mounting solution.
Wish I would have made it to the FreeSpirit event on the 18th. Could have shown off my 1st gen FreeSpirit tent and tried to convince them to get me one of them nice new mattresses for it.
What about fitting a solar panel on top of the tent? Where can we get your tents in Australia and does your tent come standard with an air mattress?
Bad ass video all around. Living vicariously through you guys. 🤙🏼

Also, shorter trimmed beard is a cleannnnn look brother. Keep up the grind
Loved dropping knowledge podcast
Glad the tent is workin great T!

Nice work with the tent!
New Orleans BBQ Shrimp. Hell yeah

Have any bedding recs for the aircore mattress? (fitted sheet sizing specifically)
Check out my latest camping video with the trailer
What's the major difference between the Aspen and Aspen Lite? They look similar but the Aspen closed dimensions are slightly smaller.

Will aspen offer a drop in moon roof to replace the current roof section?
Yes, different species.
You covered this but would mountain an awning to the slots be alright?
You would want to upgrade to the Aspen V2 for mounting an awning.
Dang. You’re quick. Appreciate the help very much
I try man! Thanks for watching 👊🏼
Thanks for showing the tent . I have an SEI version on order . My question , will it come with those spring type poles to hold the back door awning open ? thanks
The main door rolls up and cinches in place at the top

(Hint FSR Aspen) 😉
I wanted the aspen 49, BUT they told me it cannot fit beddings inside. That’s why I was hopping to get the aspen lite due to its perfect dimensions.
Are you able to attach an awning (such as a FSR 270 awning) to the tracks along the outer sides of the tent frame?
Like I mentioned, I’d recommend going up to the Aspen if you plan on mounting a lot of extra weight to your tent.
Is there an anti-condensation mat included?
I'm always jealous of these trips, but especially the ones that are just an hour down the road.
You guys ever see or hear any turkey up in that area?
I see turkeys all the time
@@TalonSei Up in this area? I'll have to go check it out! Thanks man.
What size is your truck bed?
6ft
Where are those overalls from🤙🏼😮
Did the top panel of the Aspen Lite end up staying fabric or did it change to a hard material? Thanks Talon!
Rip stop nylon fabric with tri layer on the inside. Lightweight and durable.
Nice tent, but the sei version is not available, do you know when more will available? Love to have one on my 2nd gen taco.
We sold out pretty quick but some more might become available at the end of this month.
Still showing on r4t, but I don't think you can use the set discount code
I remember you saying the ladder was going to be optional to save cost. But when I bought the lite didn’t see any add on options for the ladder? Is the ladder included or sold separate?
That was the original thought about a year ago but since these will be on a lot of different vehicles, it now comes included.
Good Video!
I have a short bed tacoma, will there be any over hang with this RTT once it's installed?
Depends what rack you mount it to. It is longer than a short bed 5.5ft tacoma.
Do you think 2 adults and a child can fit in?
What made you want to switch from the Ikamp Mini?
The mini was heavy, took awhile to set up properly, wasn’t insulated, hard mattress, no lights, no diesel hose pass through, couldn’t store bags and pillows, etc… and also costs $3,700
What are those overalls?
I have this tent in Sei version coming Tuesday. Can I fit bedding/ladder inside it when closed?
Also is there an anti condensation pad for this?
Simple answer yes, but it depends on how much bedding. And no it is not necessary with the EPE foam and air core mattress

Where you at Costco?

Is it necessary to have the cover on, or leave it off permanently?
Not necessary. You can leave it off, but if you won’t use the tent for some time it’s nice to put it on.
