@@MikeTrachtenberg no worries! I will need to do the XL version. My husband is 6’4” so he definitely needs the extra space. We have a trailer he is going to put a box frame over so we will have plenty of mounting room 😁
I'm glad you found it helpful. Yes, we haven't really been using it this winter cause we have nowhere to air it out when it gets wet but I'm excited for some more use out of it soon!
@@amateurbiggamehunter7691 - Hey I'm sorry - I didn't see this comment. I couldn't figure it out either. It just seemed to always stay inflated. I switched to the Lost Horizon mattress - ua-cam.com/video/krE3bB7zs1o/v-deo.html
I just got mine installed on my Power Wagon. I put in the Lost Horizon 4.5 mattress inside along with 2 zero degree XL sleeping bags. I am glad I got the long tent for my 6' 3" frame.
I've been waiting a long time for video like this, thanks so much. Just One thing, Can you show in another video if two large people (6 feet) can sleep comfortably in the tent?
Thank you! That means a lot! One thing I can't believe I forgot to mention in the video (it still haunts me) is that this is the short version. I'm 5'7". You'll definitely want the long version!
I'm not sure if you already did this, but you can loosen the bolts on the latches to account for the extra bedding you have stored in the tent. It will make opening and closing the tent a lot easier for you!
Hey hey - this is a 5.5 foot bed. The overhang in this was not a problem functionally (just doesn't look as good), however, I now have it on a Jeep Gladiator (5' bed) but it's sitting on top of a bed cap.
Im the description you mentioned this is their SHORT model. I’m a hair over 6ft tall married so sleeping 2. Would you say the short is enough room? I’d also be mounting in on a short bed Tundra. Thanks for the review
The short one would definitely be tight. I'm only 5'7" so it's great for me. But if you're mounting it inside of the short bed, the long one would definitely stick out a lot. My F150 was a 5.5' bed and it stuck out over the back about 10".
I'm going to make a follow up video in June but I won't make you wait till then for my answer... It's everything I could have asked for in a rooftop tent. My ikamper was my "starter home" and the Evo V2 is my "dream home"
That's a fantastic question. I looked at every brand I could find and I narrowed it down to CVT & FSR. I ruled out the CVT Mt Hood when I decided I didn't want a clamshell tent. I didn't feel the roofnest sparrow was of as good quality as FSR. I was also thinking about getting the FSR Aspen but again, didn't want clamshell. The Evo V2 looked like it would be one of the fastest to set up while also allowing you to keep bedding in tn the tent. I still love it. (Year later video coming soon)
I haven't seen anyone talk about it, so I assume the Evo V2 doesn't have one, but I was wondering if the rear (secondary) door had a rain fly with rods or any other sort of rain protection. Guess if it rains it's a must to fully close that side.
@@MikeTrachtenberg Thanks for the info. I suppose with all the rtt parts out there, I could rig something up easily. I wonder how the overhang on the main door does in the rain. Seems a bit scant.
1 year later video now live - ua-cam.com/video/t74TukQ7nuw/v-deo.html
This was such a great first impression/review. It helped me finalize my decision! Thank you so much!!
I really appreciate that! I can't believe I forgot to put that it was the short version lol. If this is what you went with, I hope you love it! 😊

I sure like the looks of that tent. I'm really thinking about getting one. Thanks for your quick review.
Thank you for the comment. 2 months in and I still love it.
Thanks this is an awesome clip…and yes, I looked to see how you liked it in hopes of buying one of these tents 😁👍
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad to know it was helpful. Still loving the tent

Yes, it was a debate between short and long but I'm only 5'8" so I'm glad we went with the short!
What a wonderful ad for campers! What a super job you did! The Company who makes these FRV's should hire you for their ads!
Aw thank you very much!!
That’s so informative
Thank you!

Got one and love it. Very helpful video
Thank you for that! I've used my once more since making the video. When rain pools on top, be careful when you close it! Haha
Tent looks amazing, just curious what size bed is your pickup? Mine is 5.5ft and I'm concerned about how much is going to overhang.

This is the setup I’m looking for. What brand and what size bed rails are you using?
Thanks! The bars are the Yakima HD XL. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Looks great!
Thanks! I'm a happy camper 😆
For the locking it to the truck I just run a few cables through the slats underneath and it has actually held up to someone trying to steal it
That's great advice. Thank you!
Mike does this tent come in different 'sizes'? ...( Cost? ).....i currently have a 2010 Tundra Crewmax.. cheers
Hey, yes. It looks like they now have a "standard", an "XL short", and the XL.
Wondering how you are liking it after a season of using it? I am getting ready to pick one up.

lol! Perfectly named
What other tents did you consider and why did this one become the winner?

Great question. It does not. You will need to close the window if it's gonna rain and you don't wanna get wet!
@@MikeTrachtenberg Thanks for the info. I suppose with all the rtt parts out there, I could rig something up easily. I wonder how the overhang on the main door does in the rain. Seems a bit scant.
Did you mount the tent on a 5.5 foot bed?

Update coming soon! 👀 👀
Was this the long or short version of the Evo V2?
