Hey, that's awesome! It takes a little tinkering but you got it. I would love to see it. Stay tuned. Going out to look for Sand Bass this weekend, If all's good I'll make a video. Your welcome and thanks for joining in.
Can you safely use the trolling motor attached to the handle with just the stock bolts screwed on tight or is bolting the motor into the kayak a must? I’m wanting to do a similar set up but also want to be able to take the motor off when I travel from place to place. If anyone has attached a motor to the front of a pelican catch 100 let me know any tips that would be much appreciated!
Yeah, You got to bolt them on because the transom screws wont stay on the handle and its not strong enough on its own. I travel with it attached no problem. Thanks for tuning in
I hear ya. Here's what you do, match the numbers on your trolling motor wires to wires your gonna need to buy at your local hardware store. Don't forget shrink sleeves or wire nuts to connect. I appreciate you joining in. Don't forget to check out the channel for more.
@@johnmcneal2411 You might have to try and find the closest match. These trolling motors run different wires sometimes. I know you'll get it going! Its took me a day or two.
@@OscarOutdoors lol thats what I was doing there. Brilliant mods you made on yours. Do you belong to any clubs for kayak fishing? I am in the Waco Area Kayak Fishing Club and we have a tournament on lake Whitney next month you would probably have a blast and get great content for your channel
@@beardzerofishing nah I'm in not in any clubs bro, but sound interesting. Can you send me the info to my email on my channel descrip? I'd appreciate it it.
How much does your battery weigh? I'm actually doing pretty much the same setup and came across your video. Im a bigger guy, 235, and just looking at everyones weight on theyre catch 100's
The premium catch 100s' hull is made using the Ram-X material that is more durable and stronger. The yak holds about 350lbs. I surely appreciate the view and comment, please check out my Kayaking fishing videos!
@@OscarOutdoors thank you. I thought they we both made out the same material and both were ram-x. The classics are about $550 now and the premium version is about $720. Just want to be sure since returning them is not an easy option.the classic states 350lbs as does the premium. But the premium also says weight capacity is 300-399lbs. If they were essentially the same I would go with the classic.
@@OscarOutdoors Thank you again for the reviews. I ended up getting the Classic. It seems almost identical. Even has the template holes for the stand assist strap and the forward staging rod holders. It is a nice kayak. I guess 300lbs is too much though. I could just be able to use scuppers. There was quite a bit of water in the rear tank well. And some under my seat. Luckily I had the seat up on the higher setting. I do like it but think I need to go with the Catch 120. But for testing I bought this for my son, 170lb, it is perfect for him. He loves it and stands and fished fine. Catching was good too. We are not returning it. He has plans for it. Pros for me: Looks great, seat is comfy, the rear tank well makes a great live well. Kept a small bass that did not want to go back in the lake alive. Cons: Held too much water for me. I fish lite. Small tackle bag and one rod. Maybe scuppers would change my mind. Given - Definitely needs a skeg.
@@IamSonoma Yeah no prob. I might do more reviews in the future of different yaks from time to time. I use the scuppers since I weigh a little more the skeg does help, I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do. Thank you very much for your all your attention!

Hey man are you in the Texas area ?
I’m trying to make a similar build with the same kayay but I don’t know how to extend the wires from the trolling motor to the control
Nice setup like to see your mount for the trolling motor
Yeah I should have got a close up. It's just three bolts holding it in place.
