I have one non Rothco canteen cup that the Rothco lid fits on as is!!!! Before anyone gasps aloud at this improbable event it fits so well that the posibility of getting the lid off again when the cup is hot without burning or scalding is about as improbable as the Rothco lid fitting any non Rothco canteen cup in the first place. Now I can't adjust my lid like yours or no one will believe this unlikely thing ever happened!
Thanks brother, it was easy to do too. I used a pair of 10" channel locks and just bent the lip outward to about a 45* angle. It took less than 5 minutes and they are so cheap it def worth it
That's cool, I've seen people flatten them out all the way and it seemed to work very well. I do you have a vid using it that I could watch? I really like to see what everyone else is using
I don't have many videos but I have the one lid I modded and a Pathfinder canteen lid and I just bought 2 Heavy Cover Boil Lids. Maybe I'll make a video on them sometime.
Do you have the aluminium cup? I do and I also have the same lid that doesn't fit. Looks like this will fix the issue without having to return it and find another. Thanks for the tip!
+AdventureCamping I think it's a gov issue steel cup but if you have the $4 lid it might be more trouble than it's worth to return it. I just took som big pliers and started widening the outer lip on the lid until it sort of fit. Thanks for watching

Dang.... That was a simple solution. I've avoided buying that lid because I know it won't fit my cup. Might have to re-think that now!!!
