The opening of Going To The Sun Road to vehicles is dependent on the snow clearing effort by the NPS. The road has opened in early June on rare occasions and as late as the first week of July (also rarely) but usually in mid to late June for "normal" snow years. The opening dates for vehicles for past years is listed on the Glacier NP website. For us cyclists, you can cycle up the road sort of following the progress of the snowplowing on weekends and after the work day is complete. If you time it right, the entire road will be open to only cyclists and hikers all the way to Logan Pass for a few days before it opens to vehicles. I hope to time it right next June but coming from Georgia I'll enjoy it no matter how far up the mountain GtoTS will be open!
That’s great to know. Thank you very much for sharing. We appreciate the information. We’ll have to take that into consideration the next time we visit Glacier National Park.
Beautiful! I haven't been in the Glacier since I was a girl (I am in my 60's now). How were the crowds in May? It didn't look bad in your video. May might be a good time for us to go.
What beautiful views! Makes me miss my time in the black hills.
Beautiful run! Nothing like that crystal clear Montana water!

Not bad at all. We had an awesome time.
5We were their 2 years ago and the GTTS road was also closed in June. Next time.
I guess it’s a common occurrence. Hopefully, like us, you’ll be able to try again.
Great video! Can you give me map coordinates of the trail to the waterfall at 05:47? Thanks!
