3 Things You Can Make From 9v Batteries

  • What to do with 9v batteries when they run out of juice?
    In this video, I share 3 ideas about 9v battery reuse.
    It's amazing how handy an old 9v battery can be.
    You can make key holders, snap buttons and battery connectors etc.
    Warning: Don't keep the batteries together in a bucket like I showed in the video.
    I used to do it as that's what a lot of recycling points do, but there have been cases where batteries have caught the fire, so it's not safe.

    1:10 I've done that myself, but the soldered connections weren't very durable. After some use they broke apart.

    I never thought about prying off the 9V battery terminals to make a snap-clip for a new project or a repair job...that's an amazing idea! And while you can find button snaps in stores, making one from a 9V shows everyone that you're a true "MacGyver". And that goes double for the clip-on key holder.

      +jerzyk007 Now wonder if there would be 3 great ideas to do something with the rest (like the metal shield could be easy, Afrika has showed us many nice toys, but the chemicals ;) )

    • @jerzyk007
      @jerzyk007 8 років тому

      ***** acid - you can use for etching, metal you can use for survivor kit (emergency fire) ;)

    • @CodeAsm
      @CodeAsm 8 років тому

      +jerzyk007 first I was like, "No way"... but its acid alright, and one could probably use it to etch boards indeed. But ill probably buy some proper etching stuff if im going to buy copper plated boards. maybe some electro etching logos or text in metal forks and knifes is a great idea (but you could use vinegar aswell).

    • @jerzyk007

      +jerzyk007 Well, I just wondered. But you took it a great way. Now we dont have to trow batteries away, we can use them for all kinds of purposes. Or recycle them properly ;) Maybe you can start your own channel with ideas ?

      I actually wrote down the pronunciation of the word to say it correctly, but I automatically said it wrong :)
      I noticed the mistake when I was editing the video. There are more mistakes in the video. Pretty much in every video I say something wrong. Well, I learn as I go. Hopefully the next time I will pronounce it correctly.
      Thank you for pointing it out.
