@@theoracle7463 Practically nothing works seamlessly with a daw. The best experience I’ve had were with Bitwig and Korg’s midi implementation (Monologue). With that I could literally make it change patch for each note without a hiccup. I haven’t done research but have you looked into a separate midi clock / din sync converter? Oh come to find out that Roland used 24 pulse per quarter note and Korg used 48 I wonder if Korg still has higher clock resolution… Elektron does it’s own thing and while I got it to work and the Digitakt is my favorite device of all time, it wasn’t in the way I thought it should be, and I spent liters of blood piss and tears f$cking around with that when I just wanted to make music when I turn my machines on. So now I’m basically dateless with the Daw being a glorified multi track recorder 😬

I knew that a really skilled artist could use a drum machine as an instrument for live performance (obviously), but I didn't realize that just a 909 by itself could do this live and on the fly. Jeff Mills is talented as fuck (and not just as a DJ or a producer). He's playing a 909 like a classical pianist performing on a Bosendorfer concert grand.

Jeff Mills is one of the originators of this style of Dance Music which all started in Detroit. Used to listen to this on late night radio until I was old enough to sneak in, if they weren't patting you down for guns or large knives, and they would let you in if you looked 18 . The places were PACKED ! And warm from everyones body heat cuz outside it was snow and ice plus - 10° below zero. . .Glad I don't live out there anymore. Too cold. ⛅🔥🎹🐒💡

Unfortunately, Roland focused more on the acoustic genres and produced too many pianos and keyboards and amplifiers for Rock, Pop, Soul, Jazz etc. Pioneer focused on electronic music and Djing, and now it has become the symbol of Guetta and all the other clowns producing and playing Big Room...
