  • A basic improvised acid techno track. The goal was to "play" the RD-9 live, as much as possible, so only the cymbal crash was pattern-chained. Effects provided by Yamaha A4000 sampler.

somewhere out there is a dude with a 909 gathering dust who's very upset at Behringer for making the best clones yet and 'devaluing' his machine.
But yet without them, we wouldn't have sweet vids like this of people just messing around on hardware and having a great time. I'll probably snag one of their 9s soon to go with the '808' and '303' :D

Good job! Maybe add a proper distortion box to TD-3 and this setup will sound even better. 😎

Buy a used TR8 for 200 quid and a Behringer for just over a 100 and do it yourself.

Done the job. Just missing an underlying Bassline to drive it along. Good enuf though.

The RD9 kick is pretty much absent, no depth to it, it's all high frequencies. Recording is bad dude

@@tonybucks5709 no it still kicks ass, you're just being shitty and unwilling to overlook the flags to appreciate the overall composition. it is at least close to good.

@@vatnikmcgopnik4928 i have both the TR909 and RD9, also the TR-09 boutique, the 2 Roland sounds really close and actually the TR-09 having that internal compressor, sounds amazing. The Behringer RD9 sounds awful. You have no idea what you're talking about, your mom is shitty. Show some respect, otherwise stay alone in your lonely life

To be honest, the average listener of a dance music track wouldn't even know what a Roland TR-909 even is, and will only care about the overall song. I think the buttons and knobs on the RD-9 are way too stiff; a real 909 or din-sync/steda replica would have much nicer buttons. I compared my dry RD-9 to dry samples of TR-909s, and the difference in sound was too small to me to justify spending thousands of USD on it. All of them generally need heavy outboard effects (don't own any yet) to sound like your favorite famous artist, who is probably using 909 samples/plugins in a DAW anyway. Having a real 909 would be cooler, but every video I make with the RD-9 has a rating of 95% or better, so the general audience thinks the RD-9 sounds perfectly fine, together with other instruments, in a mix.
