That is astronomically insane that you found your lost trowel.Ellie. Wow!! I’m pretty sure that is something that has never happened before. Oh! And I’m less than 2 weeks away from Londinium! My air bnb is right on the river, ohh it’s a juicy place, with a balcony view of the Cutty Sark,on the south bank!!!!!
Lovely to chat with you both today at Detectival and thanks for letting me film your finds, congrats on your super weekend! New sub here 👍🤗 All the very best, Julie 🙋♀️
Fantastic video girls excellent quality! Really interesting seeing and hearing about the Roman coins 🙂 glad Ellie found her trowel Really enjoyed it thanks 👍😊
Thank you so much!! We we’re really excited to find a new coin design we haven’t found before!! Hahah we couldn’t believe it! The field is massive too! 😂💪🤎
A really good video girls! First I've heard of you, but glad to subscribe. It's great to come across metal detectorists who are genuinely interested in history, instead of those who either try too hard to impress, but fail miserably, or are as rough as rats!. I really like your style, and the way in which you provide great footage that incorporates a strong educational dimension. Another very good detectorist, in my opinion, is 'The Scottish Detectorist'. You two girls are easily on par with him, I think. Bravo indeed: from this old'n.
Hi ladies, late again watching. Brilliant haul of Roman coins and love the coin you found on the path going back to car just question have you ever found a NB early whole Roman vessel at all or us that on the bucket list. Look forward to your next trip
Thanks Dave! We certainly try our best and between us we seem to identify most finds! We do get the odd one that stumps us though and certainly design variations which might not have an exact reference match 🤎
some fantastic finds! Great research and informative information. Keep up the great videos ladies. Sometimes I just wish you could take a photo of the Roman coins a bit closer & incorporate it into the video. I know that would be more work & editing but it’s not always clear to see them.
The coin at @12:59 is a contemporary copy? Can you tell by the metal? Contemporary as in the 21st century? Then it was obviously created to deceive, but why? Sorry for all the questions. What a great day in the dirt! :-)
Great questions! Thanks for asking! It being a contemporary copy means that it was created at the time of the Roman Empire but not by official sources. This was very common and especially in Roman Britain and would have been created where there was a lack of official change. Really fascinatingly these coins would have been used alongside the official ones! So they are still Roman Coins made by a Roman just a local one and not a mint official. Quite a quirky part of Roman coin history 🤓🙌
Great 👍🏻 stuff all those tiny little pieces my goodness 😊what a day! Thank you for the history behind all of your finds ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Amazing finds in a beautiful location. Thanks for sharing your day.
Great to be able to relocate your trowel.
So glad you found your edge digger!! What a wonderful exploration of that field. Thank you so much.
Very glad to have our edge digger back! We can’t even tell its been out in the field after a visit to the repair shop! 😂🤎

Thank you that means a lot!! 🥹🤎🙌
Your researches are indefatigable, you both set a high standard there. Have you found finds that also dont crop up in researches yet ? Dave
Thanks Dave! We certainly try our best and between us we seem to identify most finds! We do get the odd one that stumps us though and certainly design variations which might not have an exact reference match 🤎
sorry I meant finds that have clearly identifiable generic countenance but don't occur in any on-line researches
Maybe the odd find, but nothings coming to mind at the moment.

Which detectors? your reply came in B4 I read it but it didn't need any elucidation in the end!
