Mahidevran blames Hürrem that she have a miscarriage. The hallways af the harem echoes with shoutings. Gülşah could barely save Hürrem from Mahidevran. Hürrem doesn't look healty at all. Poeple gets Mahidevran away from Hürrem. Sultana finds out what happened between two women in very short time and she ends up in Mahidevran's room. She puts Mahidevran in her place. However, she gets shocked with what Mahidevran says. In the mean time, Hürrem's health gets worse. The kalfas decide to hide what happened to her. Everyone wonders about where Hürrem is. Sultan Süleyman gets very angry that Hungarian King Lajos disrespects him. He sets his route to Belgrade for the campaign. People becomes so happy about the campaign decision. Hürrem gets even worse. Things get complicated when Sultan Süleyman wants to see her.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Hurrem also realised that Sultan likes intelligent women with brains. Its not all physical alone. She learnt more, had intelligent conversations with him. making him want and like her more.

I love the scene where maria and hurrem discussing about hurrem become a sultana and Maria will become her daye hatun .. they laugh like crazy best friends in high school 😂

But there are two problems concerning this plan: a) Daye Hatun had heard them when they had their discussion about this non-possible-to-happen issue and she had said their plan to Valide Hafsa Ayse Sultana and b) Hurrem said that "I will be Valide Sultana and you will be my Daye Hatun". Hurrem had not succeeded to be Valide Sultana, because she never watched even a single one of her sons embracing the throne. Selim II became Sultan after his father's death at 7 September 1566. Hurrem died before Syleiman, at 1558, 8 years before Syleiman, so the title of "Valide Sultana" never been achieved by Hurrem for herself, so this plan hadn't so much succeed. If that day, at 7 September 1566, Hurrem would still be alive and saw her son Selim becoming the Sultan, then yes, she would be Valide Sultana. Shw would be Valide Haseki Hurrem Sultana. But she was only Haseki Hurrem Sultana. Valide Sultana was above Haseki Sultana or only Sultana.

And what's more, she started the Sultanate of Women - an era that would give birth to many powerful and dominant sultanas in a period in which it was virtually unimaginable for Muslim women to have power.
Sultan is totally into Hürrem even if he saw the ugly face being beaten he is still caring and loving her. I like Sultan pure love to Hürrem.

Worst in chinese dynasty, I watched Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace, the Emperor married 3 women, ranking the Empress(1st wife), the side chamber(2nd wife), the Noble Consort (3rd wife) plus concubines, who do frontal competition with each other, killing secretly the princes potential to the throne, killing concubines with sons.
The truth is every powerful Sultana fought hard for her position with a Valide Sultana. Hurrem fought with Ayse Hafsa. Nurbanu with Hurrem, Safiye with Nurbanu, Kossem with Safiye and Turhan with Kossem. But Hurrem was the one who opened the path.Thumbs up!

incorrect? hurrem sultan never fought with valide hafsa sultan. hurrem wasn’t even alive when nurbanu became a haseki sultan. mihrimah sultan who was kind of a de facto valide sultan to selim ii also didn’t have any rivalry with haseki nurbanu sultan. it’s true that valide nurbanu sultan & haseki safiye sultan had a short rivalry but nurbanu died and their rivalry stopped. safiye sultan was extremely powerful as valide and didn’t let any concubine be a haseki. kosem sultan didn’t have to fight anyone because valide handan sultan died early. turhan sultan didn’t have power as a haseki and there was no rivalry between her & valide kosem sultan. however, once she became valide sultan & kosem became buyuk valide sultan, their rivalry started. don’t believe everything the show says, most of it is fictional.

Mustafa's curse was his mother. He grew up in all of that sorrow and weeping. No wonder he didn't seem to have happiness in his life. Mahidevran is the cause of her own downfall. I do not think she really loved the sultan. She loved the position of power. She didn't melt him with her stare, nor warm up in his presence. Her personality drove him away. She did not make him laugh and forget his sorrows. Her relationship with the sultan was boring. No wonder he said, "You killed us Mahidevran." Now I do not agree with the promiscuous lifestyle of the sultan though that was the tradition at the time, but that's history. She should have adjusted to the changes. He was no longer a prince but a sultan. Shower him with affection. Make it impossible for him to forget you. Valida should have given her some tips instead of always cover up for her wrongs. Noboy wants to be around someone who is always sulking. In addition, she seemed fake most of the times. The sultan was seeking happiness. Unfortunately, she couldn't give it to him. It wouldn't be fair to blame it on Hurrem. If it weren't Hurrem, someone else would have still taken Mahidevran's place in the sultan's life. That's a fact! No bias!

That`s the way the filmmakers wanted it to be, I suppose. To make the story irresistible to watch :).
And the problem was that Mahi just COULDN`T do what Hurrem could. It`s impossible to become a different person. And it`s not that easy to be LIKE Hurrem, - those are not some things that you can quickly learn :).
And it`s not about blaming anyone. It`s a wonderfully told STORY (in which many things were imaginary) about how it COULD nave been, - history plus imagination plus maybe some silly impossible things (like that murdering of Hurrem`s painting friend/lover) :).

I hate how they're covering for Mahidevran. Hurrem did what she had to in order to survive. Her only chance was to catch the Sultan's eye and make him fall in love with her. The TV Show isn't accurate. The show has been heavily fictionalized by the immense dramatization for entertainment purposes. Historically speaking, Hürrem wasn't as hated by the others as the show depicts.

The one thing Ibrahim disliked the most was the fact that he was constantly reminded that he was no more than a slave. He didn't like that Hatice had power over him, that's why he fell for Nigar but then out of fear went back to Hatice. In the end, his own pride and his words about how he is "the only one who can tame the lion (Suleiman)" were the reason for his downfall.

Suleiman was never in love with mahidevran, she was his second concubine after Gülfem, who was also the mother of his children who unfortunately died very young, that's when mahidevran came in the picture. Mahidevran was the mother of prince Mustafa, so he probably liked her a lot, and she also was the chief consort of the harem, but not his Haseki. The title Haseki was created by Suleiman to elevate hurrem's status in the harem. Also, mahidevran was only addressed as " Mahidevran hatun" not " Mahidevran sultana ", mahidevran was not a sultana. In real life, mahidevran did beat up hurrem, but putting this fight aside, their relationship was always cordial and they always respected each other in public events.
In this series MC, you could see suleiman call madidevran Haseki maldidevran sultan in ep 125 or 126 when he gave his order to punished her and that was the only time in whole this series

I guess they tried to follow history.real names, children etc..historical controversy .. ie no one really knows if that beat down happened.. Mehmet died of smallpox but there is controversy as to if Mahedevran had a hand in it (arguments on both sides) then the stuff they added for drama .. there was no Firuze, no Izabella, and Ibrahim did not marry Hatice..

I watch this series again and again I just love it.. but I also realize something. There are so many people who defend Mahidevran and while I understand the pain of losing the man you loved to someone else but I also think that Mahidevran lost something els as well. And that is the respect Sultan had for her. And I believe this is her fault only. As bad and painful it’s sound you can do nothing when the man you love falls in love with another person ( specially in this period ). That is what Hurrem understands and never tried to disrespect the Sultan. And that is why I love her and her character and absolutely hate Mahidevran… this is my humble opinion, please don’t rip me apart 🙏🙏😅😅

So secretly she asked help from Sumbul to become muslim because she thought becoming a muslim is sulaiman like. She let sumbul taught her the ethics in serving the sultan, so she aimed to compete hurrem. Which ibrahim saw as an opportunity using maria to stop sulaiman demanding for hurrem, if maria can win sulaiman's love, he will reject hurrem. Thats what i see why ibrahim used maria to destroy hurrem and sulaiman

I have never cried so much in so little time over someone. Especially from a show of all things.
Besides that, I admire how the Sultan talks about how love could make people attempt to destroy their rivals and that he doesn't want that. True love is not that toxic. As much as Hurrem flaunted the ring, her new name, and cursed the unborn child of the Sultan's wife, she didn't bring physical harm to her and had already been through so much. The way she looked at the Sultan's child wasn't malicious even if it wasn't hers. Needless to say, she does love the Sultan (even though it's also obsessive as she doesn't like the Sultan hanging around with his best friend instead of her) and treated him like a person and made him laugh (something the Sultan's wife didn't do). She was real unlike his wife. I did feel upset for his wife though after she lost her unborn. It's a terrible thing, but she was obsessed. If you love someone and see that they're happy with another person, you may feel envious and spiteful. It's a part of human nature, but true love doesn't make you try to tear them apart and claim the person you love as your own. It's a human being, not a possession. Obviously, cheating isn't okay, but they really could have been the best of friends rather than make matters worse for themselves with such obsessions with power and attention.

Mahidevran is a classic narcissist. They project onto other people often calling them liars. Hurrem didn't say a single word to her but now Mahidevran is making up lies that she did. She is always accusing Hurrem of being a liar when she is the one who is actually lying. That's why I always hesitate to believe a person who is so quick to accuse another of being a liar. Often, the only liar in the situation is the accuser. Sad but true. The whole situation is to be pitied though. The women are pitted against one another and must rip each other to shreds merely to survive if only for another day.

Time reveals truths about people. Narscisst are also very convincing. I've learned in maturity to not be reactive, not attempt to argue with them and to keep my thoughts private about them......they also gaslight, have minions and are character asassans that will do evil sneaky things to set up their victims to cause harm. It's actually more dangerous if they know that you're aware of what they truly are. If it's a relationship, I gracefully move away. But take my time getting to know people and pay attention to details.
These women were stuck in their positions and I'm sure behind the scenes did ruthless things.

Mahidavran was very ungrateful. That's the time they lived in. The Harrem was there literally to please the Sultan. The women were doing their job. It's an unfortunate position to be in but it's the position they were in after all. Hurrem was following orders. Mahidavran made things harder for herself by being cruel to someone who is favored by the Sultan.

I still keep repeating it, had she joined forces with Ibrahim instead of making an enemy out of him, would have been glorious. And Ibrahim would have gained a lot, the only thing that would remain the same is 'Mustapha still wouldn't have been Sultan' but he would have lived at least. And Hurrems sons wouldn't have died. Mehmet would have been Sultan and he was a good man.

Suleyman was ambitious and had a huge agenda. Mahidevron couldn't be the strong woman behind Suleyman, she was a weak woman who couldn't fight her own battles. Suleyman needed a woman commensurate with his own greatness.

I am glad that Hurrem ended up with the Sultan! However if Mahidevran would have played her cards right she could have actually ended up on top not Hurrem. I find it interesting that they use “Haseki Sultana” for Mahidevran but that title did not exist until Sultan Suleiman married Hurrem and only given to Hurrem by Sultan Suleiman.
Mahidevran started all the fights. Mahidevran must have known better than Hurrem of how their tradition works.
