Mahidevran sees the ring that Sultan made for her on Hürrem's finger but she can't get a chance to wreak her anger. She suddenly falls to the ground. The healer examines Mahidevran. The good news she's given makes everyone happy in harem. The only person who is upset about it is Hürrem. Mahidevran is pregnant. Hürrem wants to see Sultan Süleyman after she learns that but Mahidevaran is with him to give the news that she is pregnant. It becomes impossible for Hürrem to see the Sultan. Sultana wants to smooth the things between Mahidevran and Hürrem but it won't be easy to calm Mahidevran down. As the arrangements continues to be complited for the campaign, the gift of Hungarian King Lajos arrives to Topkapı Palace. Everyone gets shocked with the gift as it's opened. Sultan Süleyman determines a new route without even thinking, which is Belgrad.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

I could not imagine sharing my man with 300 other women. What a hard life
I have been thinking the same..i would die of jelousy😁😁😁😁😁
I would rather kill him, then myself, than share him with another woman
See d suituation of that 300 women..
So sad..

@@sunilpaul7464 mmmh
Imagine being kidnapped from your family, home, by force on a ship for months as a slave treated so horrible all the time and then you have to serve a man and then stay alive against other women's that hate's you ! It's not the slave's fault she didnt asked for it 😣
🥺
I honestly feel sad for all the women in this series, no matter their station. None of them have much choice in what happens to them.
I believe this is the saddest way to live, I feel so bad for the ladies in the harem/ dynasty. Living as a slave taught to pleasure your owner or sold off not having a say or even and voice. I think that's why I love Hurrem so much, she stood against the harem, dynasty members, Viziers and Agas and over came it all. She must've been a wonder to beheld.
That’s why I love Hurrem, instead of just accepting, she stood by wanting freedom, did everything she could to get it, including breaking traditions, by becoming the first Hurrem.
Mahidevran’s actress must’ve been exhausted after have to cry so much. Poor woman but she played the character very well
There was an interview and she sad she was really bored of crying😅
Mahidevran taught her son very very badly. He already has all the arrogance and pride of an boorish man. Badly done mahidevran ,you down the seeds of his destruction and yours
Mustafa was the one best raised
@@marijajuresic2157 lol no. He was a traitor and a rebel to the Sultan. How can you say that he is the one best raised? Mehmet was the best among them.
Clearly! This episode shows foreshadowing 😢
@@lanalane6838 I felt like that was one of the many flaws, Mustafa was never shown as a traitor in the show. They made him look innocent and Hurrem like the monster who lied and caused father to kill son.

Here we go again ❤
It's raining outside and I'm cuddled up watching my favorite show. AGAIN.
The note passing and sneaky glances between Hatice and Ibrahim were adorable lol The beginnings of there love story was the best. Pity it changed later on in the series.
By the way, Nigar has such a beautiful smile ☺️ Love her character
Nigar is one my favourites aswell
I love her too. She's so beautiful no bad angle..
I LOVE the romance between Ibrahim and Hatice, especially because she's so sweet and beautiful and he's gorgeous too. It would be great if they ended up together ❤️. BTW, is Hatice the Sultan's sister, and is there any reason why she can't marry Ibrahim?
@@amandajones6481no there is not because sultana’s have the right to choose her spouse or divorce them (she can divorce him his wife too to marry him)
@@amandajones6481they ended up being a couple but Ibrahim cheated on her
Mahidevaran is pregnant ..actually she must be very happy at this moment...but she is crying for a ring which belongs to someone else
She should know that Sultan does not want a crying lady but someone like hurrem . Smiling and entertaining him. That's why he named her Hurrem
Everytime you watch it you see something you didn't before
Yep I do.thats why I think sultan didn't protect his love against his own family and behaved like an alley cat,a Tom with his harem
So true
Very true
I feel terrible for the poor innocent girl who was blamed for the theft, and there was nothing she or anyone could do to fight the accusation.
Exactly. How many innocent people paid the price with their life for Mahideveran behaviours and plots.
Maidrevran looks like her son in her childish behavior, no wonder the Sultan got bored and tired of her
Like sis get it together lol when she told her she was acting like a concubine in the last episode I died laughing
I cant help but feel that if Mahidevran existed today, she'd likely be diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. She swings quite violently between her emotions and you can see the toll it takes on her mental health. Nur portrays her so well!
Mustafa is probably around 3 y.o. in this series. And Mahi is about 18 then.
Sultan has changed suddenly when he left Manisa for the throne. Even his mother seems surprised with the change. Mahi is like old costume for him, its not fit him anymore and its hard to accept for her.
For the suspicious scene at 1.15; I heard that Mahidevran lost her baby because of the sherbet that the Valide Sultan made her drink. because at that time, if a woman do something bad while she is pregnant, this thing will appear in her child, valide sultan insisted on drinking that sherbet because she was stealing ring and said that nothing can be more important than the health of the prince who will be born.. just a possibility
That's an interesting take. Especially since she just watched Mahi drink it
I came here for this comment! After watching this series 3 times it finally dawned on me that Valide more than likely caused Mahi to lose her unborn child!
Since mahidevran stole the ring, valide steals the fetus' life
Omg i never thought of this!!!!
Interesting..
idk, if this dramas costumes are authentic, but they really are absolutely ✨GORGEOUS✨. specially Suleiman's mom.
and the crown Suleiman's mom wears are so beautiful, i wish once in my life i can wear that.
Mahidevrin-the only Sultana miserable for 139 episodes..lol

WOW. She’s pregnant with Sulieman’s child and she’s sulking and crying over a ring. Mahi certainly had her values and priorities in order of what love is to her.

I willn't admir what he will do b/c he hurts yoo much by lonelyness ......
Mehdevran should have been happy to receive the necklace and instead focused on that ring and she spoiled every opportunity she had with Sulieman.
What did Mahidevran think she could do with a stolen ring?? She can't wear it in public!!
Its not about her wearing it, its about if she cant have it Hürrem shouldnt wear it at all.

😂😂
Something I find really ironic is that if Mahidevran had just acted with the grace and decorum fitting of her position as Haseki, Suleiman most likely would have eventually grown tired of Hurrem, and/or Hurrem would have done something immature out of jealousy and driven Suleiman away. Mahidevran sealed her own fate from the beginning. She had the first born Shezade and allowed jealousy to cloud her vision so that she couldn't see the clear advantage she had over Hurrem in the beginning.
she never had any real advantage. it wasn`t really such a big deal about her son, unlike what is portarayed here.
and she definitely was never a "haseki" - this title Suleyman created specifically for Hurrem! :)
@@svetlankam8223what does Haseki means
@@svetlankam8223 At least in the show, Mahidevran's advantage was that she had the support of Valide and Ibrahim and they were both inclined to favor her over Hurrem. She really did herself a disservice by getting into Sulieman's bad books because she could have positioned herself as a more presentable option when Hurrem started acting up. I'd also wager that Sulieman may have tired of Hurrem earlier on if Mahidevran hadn't given Sulieman reason to think that Hurrem was being mistreated, because that mistreatment always drove him closer to her.
@@vsbdjdnsgevdndibd-jf3le Haseki means the favourite and it's a title created only for Hurrem
@@vsbdjdnsgevdndibd-jf3le Haseki Sultan is the title used for the chief consort of an Ottoman Sultan. In later years, the meaning of the title changed to "imperial consort". The Ottoman title Haseki Sultan is an equivalent european title of Queen consort. The Queen consort is the wife of a reigning king, and usually shares her spouse's social rank and status. She holds the feminine equivalent of the king's monarchical titles and may be crowned and anointed, but historically she does not formally share the king's political and military powers, unless on occasion acting as regent.
When the position of Valide sultan is vacant, a Haseki could take Valide's role, have access to considerable economic resources, become chief of the imperial harem, sultan's advisor in political matters, and even have an influence on foreign policy and on international politics. These cases happened during Hürrem Sultan, Nurbanu Sultan, Safiye Sultan and Kösem Sultan's eras.
Basically Haseki means that Hürrem is almost an equal to Sultan Suleiman, and only Hafsa Valide Sultan (Queen mother, title only given to the living mother of a reigning Sultan, and Hafsa was the first to have this title), and the Sultan himself, outrank her. All of the rest bow down to her.
I love Hurrem sultan . She is a mature one not like that witchy mahidevran . But I feel pity for her .
Hurrem has agenda and she is walking that path, jealousy doesn't matter to her nor insecurity as she already knows her life is in dumps,
Other lady may look like wimp or immature is having real emotions on surface •
How will you feel if your live in relationship partner has 1000 plus concubines and you are anyway on Mercy of your partner•
not Mahidevran it’s Mahi-devil
@@carrad123456 Hurrem agenda is to live and be happy... As of now she doesn't care about power, she just wants to enjoy the Sultan and the life his attention affords her. Mahidevran had been on the harem for how long? She knows the rule and chooses to lie and bend the rule to fit her agenda. mahidevran agenda is to be the only woman for the Sultan, she start this narrative and Hurrem keeps it going. had mahidevran minded her business and left Hurrem alone her circumstances would've been different. Instead she chose to bully, blame others and cry!!!
The romance between hatice and Ibrahim was so cute in the beginning 😍
I despise Ibrahim, but my heart hurt for him. Mahidevran has taught Mustafa to be a snob.
Why you despise Ibrahim?
@@mementomori327 he's arrogant and abusive. Dude has no trouble abusing his power and constantly hurts those he believes are beneath him.
@@GrinMonister yea I understand after watching more of the episodes. He is loyal to the Sultan but he is abusive and unfair to those ranked lower than him.
@@mementomori327 What do you expect from Ibrahim? To be kind toward those who antagonize him? The guy spent 7 years as the Crown Prince sworn brother, he sleep at the room next to the Sultan, he walk the palace as he wish (except the harem). Omg 😮I never noticed this before- is it even possible that Valide punished Mahi when giving her “sherbet”- could it have caused her to lose her baby?? 😮

Sherbet is a non alcoholic fruit drink. I don't think it would have posted any danger.
No most likely it was stress too much stress can cause a miscarriage. And she was overstressed the night before
Yeah she Valide didn't drink it. This is my third time watch and I guess may be she did it cause she knew if Mahi gave a shehzade then she will not be in control.

I watch the series again and again! Having read the history, I'm very angry that, creators didn't keep the real documents and destroy some very important parts, because of the drama! I don't understand why all these changes!
Its just a show …. Relax
I guess real history wouldn't be as interesting as this disturbing series.
@@Pashasmom1 yeah disturbing-ly attention grabbing.
Exactly for that reason: drama. Don't learn history from this series. Only some main events, like the Rhodes campaign, the Battle of Mohacs, the siege of Vienna in 1529, are authentic. The rest is falsification, invention, conjecture. Especially regarding Hürrem, not much is known about her in terms of historical facts. Not even her original name is ascertained and who her parents were. What is known, however, is that she was a very intelligent woman and had great political influence. The sultan regarded her as his intellectual equal. A person like that would have attracted jealousy, resentment and malicious gossip. Unfortunately, the creators of this series have paid too much attention to the gossip mongers. The series should actually have had a subtitle: The Vilification of Hürrem. Having said that, the series is brilliant as all the dialogues had to be invented, the scenery, Topkapı Palace, the gardens, costumes (albeit a nod to an international modern audience) and especially the acting talent of Halit Ergenç playing the sultan throughout the ages, from a very young man to the ageing sultan, is superb. I am watching the series for the second time, hopefully all 139 episodes have English subtitles now, and am enjoying it very much. Thank you to the creators of this series and to the actors and the supporting staff members. ❤️

0:22 Suleiman laughing with Hurrem! 🥰🔥❤️
I just want to add that this proves that listening to advisors and getting other people's input before you make a decision is better all around for the country/empire/state
If we don't know what happened in the harem in reality, we know what didn't happen for sure. These scenes where Ibrahim talks privately and meets with women in his office never happened in reality.- except for the eunuchs and the sultan, no one could see the face or meet privately with any of the women of the harem, not even the sultan's sisters. Sultan's mother and members of his family communicated with the outside world through intermediaries called kira.

Honestly, i really think ibrahim loved hatice at first cos all i see is so genuine between them but in the middle everything changed. Also i think Ibrahim at first he craved for suleiman's love and attention but then it changed to power that suleiman has. Its my idk 5th time watching it and even tho he was not really great man i do understand his pov. Men born greedy. He got blinded by greed, power, women, attention, everything.
