Ottoman Empire's Belgrade campaign still goes on. People prays in Topkapı Palace for the army's victory. Sultan Süleyman is about to win his first victory. He wants to show his justice in Europe, as well. Sultan Süleyman comes back to Istanbul. The victory of Ottomans and return of the Sultan is celebrated with a sense of occasion. After Sultan Süleyman's return, Hürrem becomes the first one who can fulfill his longing. Mahidevran makes a deadly plan to get rid of Hürrem. The night Hürrem and Süleyman has ends unpleasently. Hürrem gets poisoned and meets the death. Sultan Süleyman intervenes without losing time. The first person that he wants to see is İbrahim. However, İbrahim goes to a secret meeting. Will Hürrem be able to survive? İbrahim doesn't lose time to find the person did this. In the mean time, Gülşah decides to destroy the traces she left behind. Even so, İbrahim understands it was Gülşah in a short time. He gets shocked by the truth he finds out. He needs to make a very diifficult decision.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Only after rewatching it for the third time, am i seeing how much Hurrem really tried to get along with Valide and everyone. And despite that, they tried their hardest to destroy her. Sure,she was dissobedient, but nothing in comparison to Mahidevran at that time. And near the end of the series,when she becomes better in their game, everyone hates her for it, and forgets what they put her through. Its really a shame 😅
Valide was on Mahi's side.

I am starting my first rewatch and I am amazed by how much development Hurrem goes through from right now to the very end. And I mean that as a massive compliment. Our girl really started to shine, learn the game, and secure her place. She to me feels like a great literary “grey” character. I know this is a historical drama and she was a real person, but from what I’ve read they really did dramatize a lot and create unfounded stories. So in the show she fits a “grey character” archetype. Love it and love her.

It's illogical and almost stupid how Valide Sultan buys that story of Hürrem being evil and starts fearing her like Mahidevran. Valide points out many times that Mahidevran acts childish and out of her status as a Şehzade's mother... but then she spoils her (Mahidevran, who has shown very unproper behaviors, considering she's not a newbie in palace manners and obviously, not a recent slave like Hürrem) and pleases her by "getting rid of Hürrem"? What? I don't understand the preference that Valide has over Mahidevran, even after she proves to be a bad influence to his son Mustafa from the beginning, a liar and a violent woman. And if it's about what Hürrem says about enslaving the people in the palace... come on! First, she has motives to say that, they stroke first by making her "property of Suleiman", she can say whatever she wants. Second, why would Valide sultan care about what this slave says? Hürrem is just a slave after all. No point of comparison. Words are just words. Daye could scold her for saying stupid things or simply be more elegant and ignore her. Still, if she fears Hürrem for her previous confrontation with Suleiman, she is the one exaggerating the punishment for a girl who doesn't know the rules and just lost her everything, only to defend an insecure sultan Mahidevran.
The only reason why they defend her is because of the Prince they could have kicked her out long time ago and punished her but they can't because of the Prince if hurrem gets to be pregnant then they wont touch her even if it's a princess or prince she has given birth n can't be touched but if she's 2 be favored then a Prince would help more.
@@dalvabrungaNot true Hafsa still tried to get rid of Hurrem after she'd had multiple children. She was banished when Muhamed was a toddler. If Suleyman had decided to eather banish or execute Mahidevran after she poisoned Hurrem being Mustafa's mother wouldn't have done anything to save her.

Is it just me or Kosem was more clever than Hurrem? Hurrem is just acting like a very annoying and spoiled child. She has not yet secure her position but she acts like she is above everyone.

Hurrem paved the way anyways, but the time was different their generation and age is different too so let’s not compare two different people to each other! In my opinion they both were strong & smart in their way the only difference that Hurrem didn’t figure it out earlier she thought she can go out and get back to her country so she fought for that instead of being a sultan and stay! She was young too that’s a hard situation, then she wanted to become powerful to get back to her country but in the end she just loved the sultan and stayed! It’s not exactly the same with kosem. Personality & time is too different! We all know that sultan suliman days were the strongest and the best so to survive is such a hard thing

@Magnificent Century. Can you please fix the episode numbers for the next viewers. Episode 5 is actually episode 2 and episode 2 and 3 are identical and are both episode 3. It was confusing when i watched your episode 2 and missed a whole episode cause it was actually episode 3.
Actually there are 2 playlists. One playlist has the 1 hour episodes , like this one. While the other one has 3 hour episodes (3 episodes are combined)
