Coach. I love this because I want my Jiu-Jitsu not to get me kicked in the face while passing. How do you recommend to get them flattened when they're in seated guard.

If they're in seated guard u dont really have to worry about a kick to the face

What makes the guard player from going to deep half? It’s nice but won’t work for good half guard players

Maybe some of your black belts don't default to this because they don't see it as rock solid technique. Just a guess.

Your "grilled chicken" argument is invalid if the person does not play it correctly, your points are not necessarily wrong in that scenario but against the proper guard it would be a different story.

Great movement but could be taught without 15 minutes of explanation or invoking the mysticism of Rickson Gracie :D. Interesting how alot of Rickson bb don't understand what rickson does firsthand and have to have it explained by others and dissect it decades later. Good movements nonetheless

Don’t buy into this bullshit. JiuJitsu has evolved tremendously from the days of Rickson. Just so everyone knows, the two concepts of Rickson’s guard passing is 1) Pressure 2) Angle shifting. One of Ricksons BB using the analogy of an avalanche. Unfortunately, these people fail to realize that the guard has evolved also. Guard play has evolved in a way where it nullifies this concept of just pressure and angles. High percentage guard passing today not only requires pressure and angle shifts, but also proper grips, strategy and knowledge of modern day guards to know how to decipher them. Not to say these two concepts don’t work, because they do, but only on low level/ skill guys. People use examples of Rickson going through high level guys...well Rickson was beyond his time! No way in HELL, even in his prime would he go through the guards of Keenan, Lo, Miyao, Musumeci, Meregali etc.
Fun fact: One of Rickson’s best black belts declined to roll with a modern day high level ibjjf black belt for fear of being embarrassed and tooled with.
