Longplay of Ardy Lightfoot, a platform game released on the Super Nintendo in 1993 in Japan and 1994 in Europe and USA. It was developed by ASCII and published by Titus in North America.
The protagonist Ardy Lightfoot is an anthropomorphic creature resembling a fox or cat. He is accompanied by his best friend Pec, a blue penguin. The attacks of Ardy consists of using your friend Pec as support (throwing it or using it to fly) or use a mirror curtain to defend.
The story of the game is that the sacred rainbow has shattered into seven pieces (in form of crystals) and it's up to Ardy to obtain them all again. Whoever collects all seven pieces will receive one wish. An evil king named Visconti has already gotten one piece and is searching for the others and Ardy need to prevent that from happening! Ardy is assisted by friends along the way like the elder (unknown name), Nina and a mysterious adventurer named Don Jacoby (a "Indiana Jones" of game). Very simple but fun game! Wink -

Man, the story and cinematics of this game are surpisingly good. I wonder why it's not very well known.
+Fra Fre
It got lost because they were too many mascot games, but yeah it is awesome and it didn't need excessive dialogue to tell it's tale
+Fra Fre It came very late in the SNES' lifespan (like most Titus games on the Super Nintendo) so it's pretty uncommon.
+Invidente7 It was like coming up with your own story, which made it interesting when I was a kid.
Hi I am Ardy. I know alot of this game. Titus was in financial problems. The last game they made and also development hell during the new gen console of that time was ROBOCOP.
Also the game was never Release. Just few made in stores but it was still a prototype.
This game was so fun, yet interesting. Great memories of being at my Grandma's house spending hours playing this game.
A friend of mine had this game back in the 90s and I used to be scared of the eaten scene for some reason. I couldn't remember the bloody name of the game for all these years until this moment, when I accidentally saw its cover on LaunchBox. Can't believe I found it! I was starting to think I was imagining the game as a kid, that it did not exist.
Same here. For ages I've been trying to find this
@@ciromauriciodecristo1517 Good luck, this game fetches a small fortune these days.
A very fun and solid platform game. I rented and beat it in the same weekend, but every minute was entertaining.
Now at the age of 33 I do understand why I didn't complete it when I was 10. 😅 This game is so difficult and at the same time extremely beautiful! Love it ❤️
The best games are hard AF, imo.
This game deserves alot of attention!
agreed
TheMazzken wish that this game was a series and the developers of this game were still around for today.
same here
@@TheOswards306 Titus wasn't known as a great developer, if anything this game was an anomoly for them. But then again, ASCII made the game, Titus just published it.
While there are tons of SNES games that are so great (Super Mario World 1 & 2, Earthbound, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Castlevania IV, Super Metroid, Kirby’s Dream Land 3, Mega Man 7, the Actraiser duology, the Donkey Kong Country trilogy, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, Toy Story 1 (great movie, great home console/PC game), The Lion King (another great movie that is also an equally good game except for the NES version which is also one of the latest official NES games), Super Mario All-Stars, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy IV - VI, Mega Man & Bass 1 (aka Rockman & Forte Ichi ) Terranigma, Earthworm Jim 1 & 2, Pac-in Time, StarFox 1
(Yes, StarFox 2 exists), The Smurfs 1 & 2 (not the movie duology, the definitive duology), Spider-Man & Venom: Maximum Carnage, Mega Man X1 - X3, Mario Paint, Mr. Nutz (the prototype of Conker that is so underrated like Pac-Man World home console games and Andy Lightfoot), Aladdin (another awesome games based on one of the best Disney movies of the mid-1990s), Dragon Quest I - VI, etc.
i always love the music of this game which has that classic snes jrpg orchestral vibe which is a refreshing change of pace from the typical jazzy or rocken soundtracks like most 2-d platformers at the time like say mario, sonic, mega man etc and it wouldnt sound out of place in a square-soft snes jrpg soundtrack if you guys catch my drift and its a real shame not only not alot of people knew about about this game but its criminal not alot of people know about the soundtrack of ardy lightfoot i always loved the boss battle theme as well as the lumberjack forest theme and that sad song which nina died from visconti lighting bolt powers i think i used to cry when i first played the game and hear that song when i first rented this game from blockbuster back i think in the spring of 1994 when i was 8 years old too bad that ASCII went default :( and such a shame it would unluckly see the light of day on the wii u virtual console sigh hello emulation ^_^ wink wink
19:27 He's surprisingly cheerful considering what's happening :P
Wow, i played through this game a lot when I was around 10 but I didn't realised it was this short! Felt a lot longer and more adventurous at the time.
Um dos games favoritos para SNES. SHOW MUITO BOM !!!!
Cool! An old childhood favorite for me. Thanks for uploading this game.
I can't believe I finally found this game. I thought it was some fever dream.
I had a friend who would rent it and we'd play it at her house. I totally missed this game. Not sure if I'd play it again but it's good to see it.
Now I know what it's called.
Never knew of this game. Looks very nice!
Boa dica aí do Ardy Lightfoot. Nunca tinha ouvido falar desse jogo... 😄

This game is my life. He is so hard with no continue, but I finished it with most of entertainment... my first experience of try hard. .. and the feelings when you finally won... beautiful
This looks so fun/awesome. I wish I got to play it.
Im not sure if this is the game ive been searching for from my childhood.. but its very similar at least.
Wait, so you have to hunt down seven hard-to-find magic stones that can grant wishes... Never heard of that one before!
One of best platformers ever besides that rocket knight adventure and ristar
Take that rocket Knight adventures and ristar
Never heard of this game but it looks fun
It's hard as hell !!! I'm warning you.
Really? I found it pretty easy
@@03Blackwaltz is easy

I own this game, awesome development in every level. It was one of my favorites
Hey man, you should play it again soon
😂@@jorjais1916
Ardy is such a cute character. 🙂
At first I was like: "Oh nice, another game I have not heard of before. :)"... then, just some seconds into the video, the Titus logo happened. :(
Not developed by Titus, though. I see. It looks quite good?!
andersdenkend
For something cranked out in the thick of the mascot craze, I suppose so.
Prehistorik Man was great though >:(
andersdenkend It was made by the japanese c ompany ASCII, and they didn't publish SNES games in the west themselves.
This is a pretty good looking charming game, I will play this a bit on the emulator and try to hunt a copy of this game for a reasonable price.
Yeah I checked online auction sites and the full package is going for nearly £100 here... no thanks I've learned my lesson with buying expensive items and games.
i have this game on Wii U (through homebrew). i tried to inject it as a Virtual Console title but i had a hard time so i decided to play it through a emulator on the homebrew.
This game needs to be on the Nintendo Switch. And it should have a sequel and have it be similar to Hitman: Contracts, how it was a sequel to Silent Assassin but also a remake of the first game Codename 47.
Ardy The Aardvark. My favorite Sonic character.
This game had a lot of potential. I just feel like it wasn’t used correctly
Great playthrough. I wonder though: Where did the red gem come from? I played this game years ago and never worked that out. 🤔
"To Be Continued?" This game came out 20 years ago. A sequel would have been nice. But the publisher Titus is now Defunct.
ASCII was the one who made the game though, Titus just published it in the US.
I would like to see a remake/sequel at the same time. Similar to Super Castlevania 4 and Street Fighter Alpha 2. The next game can take place before the original game leading up to the events on how he ended up in the cave to get the letter and play the game originally again but with better graphics remastered music and more stages and bosses. I would even like to see events after the "To Be Continued".
An animal that runs fast and is dressed like Mario? Dear God Nintendo, what were you thinking?
Except this wasn't made by Nintendo, so why blame them? Besides, the game is rather good.
Back then I remember playing this game with my brother on the emulator during elementary school days. This ardy footlight the graphics and everything in this game kinda reminds of a Disney game like Capcom's license title Disney called mickey's magical quest that's also for the super nes but I understand this game was made by a different Japanese video game company like ascii corporation while titus software [who's now defunct and didn't have nothing to do with game] published it for our oversea version. But anyway this game was my childhood and everything and enjoy a lot. While growing up I just found out the Japanese version looks completely different which had something to due to censorship like stage 4 lumberjack forest the crying hostile animals being tired up against the tree removed, Don jacoby who inspired by the Indiana jones smokes a pot in the Japanese version while the oversea removes the cigarette, and finally stage 6 eaten catry's death caused by acid stomach drop leaving her fleshless non living body into dust and bones while the oversea version replace her death animation to just being knocked unconscious which a good thing or otherwise this game would be scary or just bad but any this game was very enjoyable the music, graphics and etc was the best game ever made and I like the rpg elements. And FACT ALERT: the beta is completely different between the final of this video is playing like Nina and beecroft faces are different in the beta version and grounder has a different death animation when defeated in stage 3 tunnel chase like he was supposed to laid down on his back but instead laid on his belly with hallucinating stars cycling around his head in the final version while in the beta version didn't have cycling stars when grounder was defeated but other then that this game was memorial to me so thank for uploading this video yea.
i played all... and i have a question... where are the red jewel from??? i don't remeber i have collected.
My question is… if it’s to be continue, where’s the continuation? Never seen it after this one. 🤷🏻♂️🤔
Hard isn't the appropriate word to describe this game... Very hard are the appropriate words. Nice animation, story, music, and concept though. Typical for the Early-mid 1990's.
Damn, could the text on the screen scroll up any faster? Sheesh. You about have to be a damn speed reader.
Please help me!
When he enters the pyramid, 14:30..OMG that mucis. I swear it so much like another game, but I just cannot remember what one. Its very very similar.
could be a Magical Quest like track or Goof Troop, but i know what you mean!
This Game deserved a secuel.
I agreed with you!
Based on a true story.
It´s Lightfoot, not Lightbody! O0
Andy lightfoot andy is back coming 24 may 2024
we're already in 2024 and we still don't hear any news about him, why didn't the forgotten mascots have the chance to return?😢😢😢
first game with a Porg
To be NEVER continued!
This has a pretty dark tone for a platformer.
very good
esse cara joga muito
Wish someone would hack this epic game and insert the japanese uncensored sprites into the english one.
One of the most poorly coded games I've played. Still beat it but goddamn that was painful. Shame because it's great in all the other departments.
That is one misleading surname.
SNES furry game owo
Please play Duke Nukem Forever! :)
One of the easiest shortest games I have ever played. It got boring very quickly, still a good game though.
Easy? Ok...
Did you forget about the spear and mirror gauntlets?
