I own the Genesis version and played the SNES version at a friend's house and later on emulation. Things I like about each: Genesis/Mega Drive 1) Each character has their own unique ability. Yakko has a paddle ball attack, Wakko smashes things with a giant mallet and Dot can blow kisses. There was a lot of puzzle-solving involved using each of the three siblings' unique abilities. 2) The boss fights against Ralph can be really tough if you don't know what to do, but I never get sick of paddling him/hitting him with bombs/launching pies at him all these years later. 3) You could take more than one hit before dying unless you fell into an abyss or the poisonous water in the "Deathscream" level SNES: 1) Superbly done music and sound; sounds just like out of the cartoon 2) The stacking ability of the siblings. I love the animation and the usefulness to reach new areas with it. The ability to dash is a nice thing, too. (But losing a sibling by getting caught by Ralph can make things tricky!) 3) While choosing levels, you have to avoid Ralph or he'll face off against you in a stage. This might be annoying to other people, but I found it a fun touch. Both versions have plenty of hilarious pop-culture references and funny dialogue and both are challenging games to play, with the MD/Genesis version emphasizing puzzles and the SNES version, platforming reflexes.
