In Usk puzzle shop ( Wales) they used to have those big bears and smaller really old bears . The shops been gone years now but seeing you with the bears gave me good memories of taking my sons to see them.😊🐻
Tim, you should have gone to the LINGERIE section and tried to pick up some rich lady, your a good looking bloke, im sure you would have been very successful in the lingerie department, you should have pretended to work there when making the approach and if she asks your name, you should have said, BOND, james bond to break the ice
As a teen at Uni in the 80s, I worked in Harrods Food Hall. My job at Easter was to unpack the Sainsbury Hot X buns, repack them in Harrods boxes and re-price them at treble what they cost on the supermarket shelf. All the snotty Sloanies snatched them up because "Darling, Harrods quality is so much better than the high street don't you know" bwa haha. 'Fools and their money' was a live action lesson.
Your comment reminded me of working in Waitrose! I was and still am sick of hearing about "WaItRoSe qUaLiTy!!" when in actual fact, they're the exact same ingredients that Tesco use and they are made in the same place- the only difference is the labels put onto the final product! We even had Tesco branded food items delivered to our store! The more you know!
The general rule of Harrods is if you have to ask the price you can't afford it, there is a tourist section which is a lot cheaper still expensive but within budget. The very first time I went to Harrods I walked around with me jaw on the ground I don't think I picked it back up of the ground till I left. I took my daughter when she was 8 she wanted to go to London for her birthday, we hit Harrods and I took her down to the café and we say at this exquisite bar, the men running it were so nice and friendly, she wanted a strawberry milk shake and pancakes, they made them right in front of her everything fresh, when they found out it was her birthday they pulled a cup cake out put a candle on it and sang happy birthday to her, the whole lot cost me 20 pounds but the birthday cake was free from them. There are two sections which are my absolute favourite one is the Jelly Belly Beans section and the other is the food court especially the macaroons
Just enjoy things, you sound little resentful, some people work very hard for thier money and enjoy something to aspire to.We all know what things are worth and how things are over priced, just enjoy the experience 😊
In the mid 80s my wife and I had decided on the sofa we wanted and it turned out the Harrods price was lower than anywhere else! So we went off to Harrods and found a large furniture section I think on the ground floor. We couldn't find the sofa we wanted so we asked an assistant. He said, 'You need to go to the furniture department'. We said we thought this was it, but he explained it was just a small (not small at all!!) display and we needed to go to the 3rd or 4th floor. There we discovered an entire floor dedicated to furniture that was massive - it seemed to go on for miles in all directions. We were mesmerised by the choice on offer. With help we found the sofa we were looking for and got it for the advertised lowest price with free delivery to our address 60 miles away. Harrods isn't always the most expensive place!
@@WalkWithMeTim He most likely meant how confident you are to go with camera in hand filming inside Harrods as people pass you by and you can clearly see them staring at you as you film. A lot of people would not have the confidence to do that in a store like Harrods but you seem to do it so easily (maybe with a little apprehension) but still, you did it all the same. Good on you for that, as we, your viewers get to experience what it is like to shop at Harrods.
Sensorially irresistible, financially intimidating. Yes, I remember the frequent trips to Harrods, more for sightseeing than anything. While it’s undeniably an Aladdin’s cave of wonderful items, I’m probably not alone in finding it all vaguely obscene. Quite frankly, I’d be too embarrassed to spend 75 grand on a bottle of whisky. Imagine how that amount could transform the life of someone on the streets, ironically turning to alcohol to blot out their troubles. Just goes to show that there are exotic tiers of life that most of us will never experience, other than rubber necking in places like Harrods. Great video thanks, just wish it was longer.
My gosh. Loved this video. Remember being told it is expensive. I was thinking, yeah right. Then I left realising why most people who visit Harrod’s leave with a shopping bag with the logo or a box of chocolates. I left with a Christmas tree decoration 😜
Agree with every point you made. I've been told many times to not give cash to homeless people, and my feelings are that, if I were in their situation, especially in winter, I too would want to spend what little cash I had on something to blot out my troubles. Many don't agree, but we all make choices. Whether they're right or wrong.
I wonder if they still do it. I was a student too in the ‘90s and used to go browsing inside Harrods. In fact after Xmas used to go perfume shopping with friends on Boxing sale. I remember how desperate some of those little European boys they used to hire at the bakeries to sell the stuff. Then years later when I revisited, I didn’t buy much except for some British souvenirs and this little Italian boy kept pushing me to buy stuff using the US dollars I had on me. They said they accepted US dollars at every department of Harrods…of course at triple the rate. I wasn’t born yesterday to purchase off using that currency to be ripped off.
I always feel like a rebel when I visit Harrods wearing jeans and trainers and putting whatever I've brought (something cheap from the food hall) into my Asda bag for life
I love your videos especially the 5 start hotel reviews! You crack me up when you say I've never had caviar, I've never had truffles, I've never had lobster....C'mon! We've all seen you eat truffles & caviar at least twice on the videos alone!!! Keep making us smile.
I've been in Harrod's 3 times. Each seemed to be on a holiday weekend and the place was packed with people. Everything is beautiful to look at. The only things I purchased were pastries.
I used to work there in the 90's during the Mohammed Al Fayed reign. Can't believe how much the store has changed since and they have done away with the Egyptian theme by the looks of it. Great vid! Thanks for the memories!
Love Harrods so absolutely loved this vlog. I recently purchased my first Christian Dior item from Harrods and I was treated like a Queen. They know how to do it!
Every time I fly to London for some days off, I can’t avoid getting some food to the hotel to have a Harrods meal with champagne before coming back home. Silly tradition but it’s really comforting. I love your video.
Harrods is not only for Millionaires, i visit on every trip to London and not once have I felt like I was being looked down on treat any different to one of there rich customers, unlike Fortnam And Masons in there i felt like i was being watched all the time, like i was there to rob the joint, i would never go back there, but love going to Harrods.
My ex used to work in Harrods. I found the staff friendly not snobbish. She then worked in Harvey Nichols. The staff were totally opposite. Very snobbish and stuck up. As a shopper you felt as if they were doing you a favour.
@@josephriley4460it is a bit of a laugh when youre feeling somewhat inferior after they've been snotty then you realize you make 4-5x more than they do
It's fine just keep checking highest prices and yes it can be expensive but, you have to also realise Harrods offer the best produce and some of the finest designer gear available and stays ahead of any competitor as the most famous store in the world... I had many a visit there years ago, I had the Harrods store-card when Al-Fayed owned it. Service is 2nd to none I was there often and never queued to pay if there was just one person in front they opened another till to save the wait....Thats quality!!
I work in the white hall at HARRODS. I am glad you enjoyed your visit. We sell some really expensive items but during our sale you can find some amazing bargains. X
I thought it was very ugly. Just a sign of why there is famine and poverty in the world. Even if I was to buy such goods, I'd rather buy them at an individual hat shop, or shoe shop, or Savile Row tailor.
This is like going to a Porsche dealership and complaining that the cars are too expensive 🙄. We go to Harrod’s whenever we visit London and we buy quite a few things at good prices , you can find lots of beautiful Christmas decorations at very good prices and the food at the marketplace is actually not that expensive considering you’re in one of the most expensive cities in the world. So yes, it’s mostly high end but you can definitely go and have a great time and buy a few things and not break the bank.
It’s a beautiful place I go about 3 times a year (pre Covid) - a lovely lunch or afternoon tea are not that overpriced - you cannot make comparisons to Harrods V Aldi - that would be laughable if if wasn’t such a stupid comparison. People who shop there weekly - have more money than they know what to do with - to go in fir “treats” etc is pretty normal if you live in London -
I agree. I find it a little rude to say out loud “this is ridiculous”. Me personally, I like to keep those comments to myself. I just say, “nice, lovely, wonderful” lol.
1n December 31st 1992 I took stop over on my way back to canada and visited with my uncle , it was really different than the stores inside the malls . Main floor was really beautiful and contained tons of bakery stuff and staff wearing beautiful uniforms which make u feel that you are really in a place where rich come to shop as you were showing the prices of the articles. Thanks for the tour and bringing back sweet memories as well
In 1989 I was working in London for a couple of months with a friend, and on a day off, we went to Harrods for the experience. I wanted a few cushion covers at the time and thought I'd get some quality one's from there. When I saw the price though, about £40 each, I thought better of it. Did however, have lunch in a cafe there and bought a souvenir wooden box of 3 soaps which I still have. Lovely memories.
I last went to London in 1990 when I was 19 and visited Harrods. I could only afford a pencil with Harrods on which I gave to my mum to put by her phone... Funny thing is, all these years later I don't think I could afford much more now 😀
25 years ago I visited harrods...the sales girl is very helpful...i told her im a student n 1 day when I have money I will buy a handbag from harrods....😁😁😁
I love the fact that there is a 'pick and mix' section. Clearly taking inspiration from the sadly departed and very much missed Woolworths stores, although many viewers here will not remember Woolworths. Great video Tim.
Shopping has certainly changed. As a child, the Thalhimers (Richmond, Virginia) wine department would spot my father in the mens department. They would gather up my father's standard order and a few new offerings. As Mom took care of the Dad's clothes purchases, my father would discuss his order with the wine staff. Then Mom would talk with the food court chefs to whip up something for a traveling dinner for the trip back home. One of the few times we were allowed to eat in the car. [Note: Dad maintained a separate Haberdasher back home, Mr. Lynch.]
Interesting seeing it now, as I haven't been in there for some years. My parents and I always used to go in early December for a bit of shopping, then lunch ( the 1970s ), it wasn't the full on luxury store that it has since become at that time. As someone said to me once ' It is a store where you could buy better quality versions of everyday things. ' and it isn't quite like that anymore.
Luxury in general has become over inflated . A lot of companies have found they make more money charging more. There’s a bunch of fashion brands I know that used to have affordable prices but became more successful by charging more without rally changing quality
I used to work opposite Harrods at ITA in the mid 1960's (Independent Television Authoirty) which was above Coopers the supermarket. Not sure if it is still there. We used to call Harrods our local shop as items were affordable, even for us plebs. I worked in Knightsbridge for over 6 years, so I knew my way around Harrods very well. and spent most lunch-breaks wandering around the store. This video bought back so many happy memories
I bought my old Roberts R737 radio here about 25 years ago. Having spent over £100, my receipt qualified me to jump the queue for the toilets (and they were free with the receipt). The toilet and washrooms were like those found in an exclusive club on Pall Mall. Pure Edwardian splendour! (And lots of very expensive soaps and colognes free to customers to try out.) Liveried attendants constantly busy making everything pleasant to use.
I worked around the corner from there in the early 2000's. Nice to spend my lunchtime occasionally having a mooch. Bought a Miele Dog & Cat vacuum from there, same price as anywhere else, and they delivered to my home in a green Harrods van 😂. Still going strong vacuuming up my labradors hair. They had a sit down food bar in the food area that served roasts etc, also an oyster bar...don't know if they still do.
I always loved the children's department. It's amazing the price the super-rich pay for a bassinet for their little darling to spit up on. Another treat is to see the women's "loo." Gorgeous. Can you imagine keeping up with the sell-by dates on all those food items?
The lift looks like the inside of a faberge egg! What an experience it must be to walk around picking what you want without a care in the world. A friend took me to fortune & Mason a few years back for lunch and it was an incredible experience. What a life others live.
Charles Harrod was originally an Essex boy, born in Lexden, Colchester, worked in Clacton then moved to London and created one of the worlds most well known dept stores.
Note: the difference between a lift and an escalator is monumental. And ah yes, the famous Harrods bear- so famous that no-one outside Harrods has ever heard of it.
I agree Tim, you almost feel like you have to dress up in your best clothes to go shopping in Harrods. Don't even think my best clothes would be good enough. Better go shopping in Harrods.
Thanks for giving me dreams of "sugar plums" Tim and all those fabulous things I could never buy. Your narration is so entertaining, your descriptions perfect. Walking alongside you in Harrods would be a great adventure but on video it is just as nice. Thank you and Joyous Christmas!
Amazing! I unfortunately was born in the other London, the one in Canada. We don’t have anything like this. I have wanted to go to London UK my entire life and Harrod’s has always been high on the list of places to visit. I hope I make it there someday.
If you look for a ticket off-season you can find one for under $400 from Toronto > London. Off-Season is October, Early November, Late January & February. Surprisingly London has a lot of budget hotels for under $60 a night. So you'll definitely go there someday.
I went into the perfume section of Harrods couple of years ago and watched a cashier ringing up purchases by some Arabs waiting in the line. £2k, £3k, etc spent one after another - my entire months salary - as if they were buying groceries in a shop.
Visited the store two yrs ago and it's really gorgeous Inside beautiful decors and displays of almost evrything I mean everything fr chocolates Clothes shoes etc
I LOVE shopping! Clearly I would lose my mind in here. I could just shop and eat a bit, then shop some more. I saw the Jo Malone section - one of my favorite fragrance designers. It's just mind-blowing how much stuff there is!
With much excitement and commotion a fortune cookie stand at Harrods was opened for Chinese new year, my daughter was kindly given one by a gentleman in the Cookery department, upon opening the fortune cookie a 20 fortnum and Mason voucher was discovered neatly folded up within the cookie. How kind and an example of fantastic customer service. My daughter was thrilled and we quickly found something to purchase with the voucher.
Nice video Tim and very informative. Every time you walked through those stacked-up aisles I closed my eyes and waited for the "crash" or sound of broken glass. It's not like a greasy-spoon where if you forget your wallet you could offer to wash up, is it. They'd have you chained up forever😱🤣🤣
On a smaller scale, Julius Garfinkel and Sons in Washington, D.C., was an experience not to be missed. Those high-end stores were NOT replaced by malls, as they were irreplaceable.
My maiden name is Harrod, so I have always wanted to visit England and especially Harrod's! Thanks for this video, this is the closest I probably get to going !!
@@WalkWithMeTim I don't know... Harrod isn't a very common name here in the US...I don't know if it is common there in England. We jumped the pond Waaay back ...Maybe a long distant cousin !
This is such a gorgeous video thanks so much for posting it. I live not much more than half an hour from Harrods and yet I haven't been in there in a while. I really love Harrods though. Back in the day I used to go in there for pens. I like to use real ink and fountain pens pretty much all the time and Harrods always had a great range. I've always lusted after a Montblanc Meistersück which was pen of choice for world leaders back in the 80s and the tradition, when signing East-West peace accords, always was for the great leaders to swap pens. So I always wanted a huge shiny Meistersück pen. They cost a bit more than £600, somewhere between £700-£900 last time I looked. I did use Montblanc ink though and that came in a bottle shaped like a shoe. The heel of the shoe contained an ink reservoir just big enough to poke the nib in without getting your pen too inky. They even used to make the old-fashioned Victorian blue-black ink, the type that goes on light and darkens as it oxidises. It's said to be ultra-permanent. I heard record offices use that type of ink. Blue-black iron-gall ink in a glass shoe. Now that's luxury!
thanks for the tour Tim - its a good few years since i was in harrods. i too felt like i couldn't afford anything even then. i wouldn't dare touch or use anything at those prices. nor eat the products !!
About 6 years ago my wife bought me two slices of pork pie at Harrods. I love pork pie and she wanted to say she had bought something at Harrods. It was delicious but we couldn't afford to eat for the rest of the week !!!
When I was at Uni in London, my halls of residence were just around the corner on Montpelier Street. Harrods is awesome though, yet weird! On one hand you’ve got stuff there for millionaires, but on the other hand there’s stuff for regular people at regular prices. I mean, a few of us did our weekly shop at the Harrods food halls as it was cheaper than shopping at Sainsbury’s on Gloucester Road when you took into account getting a taxi there and back (this was before online shopping btw! Lol). So there I was, an 18 year old student, in the middle of the winter, eating fresh strawberries flown in that very morning! I felt so posh! 😂😂 F’nar F’nar! 😂😂
The Harrods are similar to The Shangrila Mall of Manila, it has that eye catchy facade, with the glittery floor from the inside. The warm yellow, warm white light fixtures exudes that ambiance of refreshing, while the stores inside are similar to H.K and Macau, they have that scent of part wintergreen and lime at times. The indoor escalators all the way up are interconnected with one another. It also has plenty of the signatured brands these days, as Marks and spencers, almon Marina for dining experience, LVuitton, Yves SaintLauren. Some of the European products can also be found similar from Harrods, Rolex, DC Gabbana, name it, Shangrila Mall has it, exclusive shopping for the premier and Good shopping and exercise for all at the same time. The Comfort room is wide, spacious and it has the sheer of metal finish, fit also for the Finnish. SMEs.........respectively.
Not been in since 1980. I bought a writing pad simply so I could get the Harrods carrier bag that they put it in. From memory there were (are?) numerous restaurants which get posher the further up the building you go. I had a cuppa on the ground floor!
U definitely shared my sentiments when i visited Harrods, i felt like 'im the only person who couldnt buy anythin" lol Thanks for this tour and reminder of wht harrods is all about and where i belong still! lol😃
Harrods is for tourists, who only want the green plastic bag. It was spoiled years ago by Mohammed Fayed and is now owned by the Qataris. The best department store in London is now Selfridges on the much less fashionable Oxford Street. Fortnums is still a decent grocery.
Went to Harrods many, many, many years ago and wow the prices were like out of this world, they had these mushrooms in their grocery dept, some Moroccan variety or something and no word of a lie they were something like £57 per quarter (shows you how long ago it was, weighed items still sold by the pound), but OMG HOW MUCH 😱. PS they also had a dog bed for over £1000
Bless you Tim , you possibly have more class and morals than most . They have personal shoppers who go out and buy for them . Money does not buy brains or a good heart . You have those in spades . Happy new year to you and yours x
Which kind of reminds me of something once told to me, which was, "People are not stupid by nature, it takes years of education, the more educated, the more stupid!"
I love Harrods. I can’t afford anything but I love wandering about. The food halls, (always get a bit of cheese and a few chocolates) the bars, afternoon tea….its all so posh & beautiful. Thanks for the quick tour.
Went to London for a day out with my son about 5 years ago, had some time to kill before the bus home so we went to Harrods , blown away, saw a bunch of roses for sale and asked the price, the lady told me it was £1700, when I asked how long they would last she replied, about 5 days, I said for that price I’d want them to last 5 years 😂
Wonderful! Haven’t been in Harrods since the early 2000s, and it’s delightful to see how it’s changed! (The only thing I ever got from Harrods was a lovely pair of citrine earrings when we were there on my b’day! Great memories of London.
My gosh!! Never seen anything like that. The food looks great. Just wanted to jump in the video and eat some food. Can't even imagine what tea time is in there. Thanks for the tour. All the best to you. James Evans.
I shop there online form here in the states for my friend. They just carry the high end brands like every other store along that line. They do have plenty of not so higher brands and their chocolates are reasonably priced. I'm hoping to visit them soon in person. Thanks for the video its quite comprehensive.
Truly Dazzling shopping experience at Harrods. I do most if not all of my shopping there. It is so convenient and I get to meet all the other beautiful people from the social club. A long drink of Martell is just the thing to pick you up in between marketing in store
When I was at Harrods, a pet shop was on the premises, as were a lending library and an art gallery. Back then, high tea at Harrods was magnificent, with tiered tables laden with all manner of tempting gourmet treats.
I've been reading articles that say Harrod's has a dress code. I was eager to see from this video. I LOL'd when I saw the woman on the escalator with a big grey "Detroit" sweatshirt. I guess not!
Terrific tour of Harrods! Can't even imagine how rich I would need to be to do my weekly grocery shopping there! I did get a kick out of the pasta that was cooked. How lazy do you have to be to buy cooked pasta?? The elevators are gorgeous! Love from Vermont
Thanks so much for this vlog on Harrods Tim. I've always wondered what it was like & how expensive it really was. What a sight for sore eyes, the prices were enough to make eyes sore, Thousands of pounds for one Pen!😱 And Thousands of pounds for one bottle of Champagne! But what a beautiful amazing place on so many levels, the Food level looked incredible, I loved that Trumpet thing where you could puff it & get a whiff of the flavours of the Wine without getting squiffy 😂 All the staff looked very suave & debonair. I would of felt like the only person who couldn't afford to be there aswell! Tho I'm sure most alot of people were just there for the experience without being able to afford anything. In fact it does make you wonder how Harrods have carried on going making profits, how many people can afford to spend Thousands like they were just spending Tenners🤔??? That lift was fascinating it did look original but very very well looked after, I bet the maintenance of the lifts cost a fortune alone! Opulence in abundance I could of spent 2 days in there with you Tim checking out every nook & cranny! Just imagine being a Millionaire & being able to shop in every department with a personal shopper! And then supping Champagne in the Restaurant, I've never tried Caviar & never fancied it myself but lunch in Harrods must would be memorable I'm sure! Absolutely another world but what a beautiful world to be in exp at Christmas time when you went. Lovely to see what delights do exist on this planet even though its well out of my price range. Definitely worth a look, I'd go in without a doubt if I was ever lucky enough to get to London!

the saying "if you moan about the price, you obviously cant afford it", is very apt...leaving Harrods you realise where you are exactly on the materialism ladder...i love going to this place if only for the experience, most "average joes" head straight downstairs to the gift shop for the over priced carrier bag and pen set..one thing that makes me laugh is you can go around the food hall looking at the scrummy £10.00 each pork pies...then once built up an appetite walk down the road to either the Tesco Extra on the other side of the road for a meal deal or McDonalds on the next block...(where the toilets were flooded with piss by the way)...Harrods, the only shop where there are more shop assistants than customers.
Enjoyed the tour , I haven’t been there since they had that tacky tribute to Diana and Dodi . You have to be a high earning celebrity or criminal ( or both ! ) to shop there 😀. I guess you could treat yourself in the food hall to a few bits and bobs .

The saying goes something like 'if you have to worry about the price, you can't afford it.' These people don't even look at price tags, nor have they ever had to think "Can I afford to eat this week, or shall I but 8 more Louis Vuittons?..." What do u mean?
@@WalkWithMeTim He most likely meant how confident you are to go with camera in hand filming inside Harrods as people pass you by and you can clearly see them staring at you as you film. Great video thanks, just wish it was longer.
thanks! to be honest I couldn't film too much more as im sure someone would have stopped me lol
Peasants.
Thanks Tim, what a great shop is Harrods! In my wildest dreams I have won the lottery and done my Christmas shopping in Harrods! 😂❤️🇬🇧
Lol me too
you won the lottory? how much did you win
I went once when Absolutely Fabulous was popular and had my photo took outside Harvey Nicks 😂
I always feel like a rebel when I visit Harrods wearing jeans and trainers and putting whatever I've brought (something cheap from the food hall) into my Asda bag for life
lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love your videos especially the 5 start hotel reviews! You crack me up when you say I've never had caviar, I've never had truffles, I've never had lobster....C'mon! We've all seen you eat truffles & caviar at least twice on the videos alone!!! Keep making us smile.
75$ flat no tax😂
I've been in Harrod's 3 times. Each seemed to be on a holiday weekend and the place was packed with people. Everything is beautiful to look at. The only things I purchased were pastries.
Lol
Same here i purchase few items from the bakery
Lol 😂
I used to work there in the 90's during the Mohammed Al Fayed reign. Can't believe how much the store has changed since and they have done away with the Egyptian theme by the looks of it. Great vid! Thanks for the memories!
Yes they will probably get rid of it all some day
Who is the owner now?

As a child we were taken to London for a treat and always went to Harrods, we only ever came out of their with a Harrods carrier bag !😂
I went to Harrods years ago and fell in love with it. How I hope that I can go there again sometime soon. Thank you for the tour.
You are so welcome!
Love Harrods so absolutely loved this vlog. I recently purchased my first Christian Dior item from Harrods and I was treated like a Queen. They know how to do it!
they do!
You have way too much money to spare😂
Every time I fly to London for some days off, I can’t avoid getting some food to the hotel to have a Harrods meal with champagne before coming back home. Silly tradition but it’s really comforting. I love your video.
thank you
I do same thing!❤
I love Harrods, it’s the most tacky corner shop I know but it’s fabulous.
Lol
Harrods is not only for Millionaires, i visit on every trip to London and not once have I felt like I was being looked down on treat any different to one of there rich customers, unlike Fortnam And Masons in there i felt like i was being watched all the time, like i was there to rob the joint, i would never go back there, but love going to Harrods.
Yes I know what u mean
My ex used to work in Harrods. I found the staff friendly not snobbish. She then worked in Harvey Nichols. The staff were totally opposite. Very snobbish and stuck up. As a shopper you felt as if they were doing you a favour.
The stores around it are worse.
Biggest stuck up pricks work

Thanks
Its so nice to go to Harrods there are quite a few things that are affordable and if not you can dream
Thanks for the tips!
What a delightful department store, Harrods is something else, thanks for sharing Tim 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I work in the white hall at HARRODS. I am glad you enjoyed your visit. We sell some really expensive items but during our sale you can find some amazing bargains. X
I'll be bck soon I'll take a look
Lol
That’s true. I used to be a Manager at Harrods and I can confirm that not all items sold at Harrods are overpriced.
It’s a beautiful place I go about 3 times a year (pre Covid) - a lovely lunch or afternoon tea are not that overpriced - you cannot make comparisons to Harrods V Aldi - that would be laughable if if wasn’t such a stupid comparison. People who shop there weekly - have more money than they know what to do with - to go in fir “treats” etc is pretty normal if you live in London -
@@jackwatsonepic626 👍
Thanks for the tour and bringing back sweet memories as well
you are welcome
Love Harrods, can´t wait for December to go there for a bit of Xmas shopping. The Food court is amazing.
agree!
If I won the lottery I still wouldn’t pay those prices
Lol
Great job
I love the fact that there is a 'pick and mix' section. Clearly taking inspiration from the sadly departed and very much missed Woolworths stores, although many viewers here will not remember Woolworths.
Great video Tim.
Oh I do .. going in on a Saturday to get sweets
Oh I loved woolworths as a kid. Amazing place.
Ill work hard so.
I remember!! Our Daddy took us almost every Saturday for treats!!
Thanks for sharing
@@Nopi9 like Gucci, terrible quality products yet the mass majority stil buys crap from that brand
Visiting harrods is a dream throughout world people the way harrods mange the department is unbeliveable of every brand keep it up
I bought my old Roberts R737 radio here about 25 years ago.
They had a sit down food bar in the food area that served roasts etc, also an oyster bar...don't know if they still do.
they still do the roasts
Thanks for watching
Oh l didn't know that
WOW! Didn't know Harrods was so amazing or I'd have visited there on my trip to London a few years ago!! Darn it!
I lived 2 years in London and never heard Harrods. I'm really happy about that
Note: the difference between a lift and an escalator is monumental. And ah yes, the famous Harrods bear- so famous that no-one outside Harrods has ever heard of it.
Lol

Maybe one day
You will when you believe it. I used to be like that
If you look for a ticket off-season you can find one for under $400 from Toronto > London.
Off-Season is October, Early November, Late January & February.
Surprisingly London has a lot of budget hotels for under $60 a night. So you'll definitely go there someday.
Ontario here and bought a ticket to UK for 200$ CAD. will be here at Harrod's in 2 months! Can't wait! Aer Lingus tickets are well priced!
I went into the perfume section of Harrods couple of years ago and watched a cashier ringing up purchases by some Arabs waiting in the line. £2k, £3k, etc spent one after another - my entire months salary - as if they were buying groceries in a shop.
Visited the store two yrs ago and it's really gorgeous
Inside beautiful decors and displays of almost evrything
I mean everything fr chocolates Clothes shoes etc
indeed
great memories I had going to harrods in 2011 and 2009 costs were insane but amazing to see
and still are lol
I LOVE shopping! Clearly I would lose my mind in here. I could just shop and eat a bit, then shop some more. I saw the Jo Malone section - one of my favorite fragrance designers. It's just mind-blowing how much stuff there is!
It's so good!

We use to have beautiful stores like this, but it seems most have disappeared because of the malls!
Absolutely enjoyed this tour of Harrods. Definitely insane. Never ever seen a display of this sort of everything. A believe a great 👍🏽 place to visit

SMEs.........respectively.
thanks rod! intresting

PS they also had a dog bed for over £1000
Wow
I bought a luxury cotton penis holder for £90

Thanks so much for this vlog on Harrods Tim.
I've always wondered what it was like & how expensive it really was.
What a sight for sore eyes, the prices were enough to make eyes sore,
Thousands of pounds for one Pen!😱
And Thousands of pounds for one bottle of Champagne!
But what a beautiful amazing place on so many levels, the Food level looked incredible, I loved that Trumpet thing where you could puff it & get a whiff of the flavours of the Wine without getting squiffy 😂
All the staff looked very suave & debonair.

I remember going there in the 1980s, there was a 42” flat screen plasma tv for sale for something like 25,000 ! First flat screen tv I had seen, it was amazing !
Wow
That would have been a CRT projection TV with a fresnel lens. The first plasma TVs were not marketed until the late nineties.
the saying "if you moan about the price, you obviously cant afford it", is very apt...leaving Harrods you realise where you are exactly on the materialism ladder...i love going to this place if only for the experience, most "average joes" head straight downstairs to the gift shop for the over priced carrier bag and pen set..one thing that makes me laugh is you can go around the food hall looking at the scrummy £10.00 each pork pies...then once built up an appetite walk down the road to either the Tesco Extra on the other side of the road for a meal deal or McDonalds on the next block...(where the toilets were flooded with piss by the way)...Harrods, the only shop where there are more shop assistants than customers.
:-)
The elevator is the best thing about that building

The saying goes something like 'if you have to worry about the price, you can't afford it.' These people don't even look at price tags, nor have they ever had to think "Can I afford to eat this week, or shall I but 8 more Louis Vuittons?..."
