I stumbled across your channel about 2 months ago and haven’t stopped watching since. I think the reason why your channel is so compelling is that you’re not a professional hotel/restaurant reviewer and don’t bring along the standard snobbish commentary. You’re the everyday middle class guy and your perspective (previously incorrectly wrote prospective) could easily be mine. Especially your commentary on pricing (breakfast, mini bar, etc.). Great channel!
Exactly! Tim reviews hotels, restaurants, and other travel related things from the perspective of a regular person and not a professional reviewer. Also, his reviews aren’t bought and paid for in return for a comped meal, stay, or other considerations as is the case with other reviewers.

Flying internationally on Virgin from Atlanta to London was the single best experience flying of my entire life, and I'm 75-years old. Flew back via Delta and it was like taking a stagecoach.
To @tiffsaver, ..... a stagecoach? 😂 that's funny! Did Delta make you join their "Near Miss Program"? (A joke harkening back to when Delta had one "near miss" after another for a while, like coming way to close to another plane), although some of that might have been the fault of control tower workers, I don't know. I'm guessing that you didn't see Richard Branson serving drinks on the fliight on Virgin, wearing a leather jacket and his leather speedos. I think he only did that on the first/virgin flight. Good for you, that you flew ANYWHERE. Some of us in our 70's still like to have adventures! I am 71, and I flew on British Airways round trip from Seattle to London Heathrow five months ago, and stayed three weeks in the UK. I needed that trip, and it was great! Keep on traveling! Gwen in Washington state (the rainy part).
Experiencing staying in different hotels without being in them is amazing This is one of the best achievements of the virtual world, where we can experience unimaginable things
I'm not a huge fan of the Virgin brand per se, but I must admit that they've smashed it with that hotel. It's beautiful, looks spotless and is somewhere I'd love to stay. One of my favourites Tim and I'd definitely like to see more of their hotels.
You put the loose tea leaves in the teapot and then put the strainer over the cup to catch any leaves that come out the spout! I learnt the hard way too😂
OMG that room is better than the one at The Plaza. There is so much attention to detail its perfect. I've only ever been on a Virgin train and that looked better than British Rail.
I had no idea virgin hotels existed, I literally just thought they were a really unique cruise line. I watch a lot of cruise videos as well, and virgin cruise ships are definitely the most fun. Now I have to see all of the virgin hotels!!! I really love how they really try to push you to have fun at every opportunity.
As someone who never knew Virgin had hotels, I am VERY impressed with this particular hotel! The Church Suites look so unique and I am now curious to see what the other suites/chambers look like in this hotel. Definitely must stay there one day, thanks for showing it to us Tim.
Seems they’re not doing very well unfortunately, a recently opened hotel in the UK has already closed after a few months. I think their overseas hotels are doing ok, just VERY expensive
Virgin is doing things right in the travel/leisure field (along with their airline and cruises). This is how you give a modern touch to iconic buildings. Great video Tim! Thanks.
Thanks for this Tim! What a lovely hotel. Love how it’s kept some of its original charm from the church! Glad it smells nice as opposed to the smoke from the ritz which was much more expensive!
the prices of the mini bar were actually very affordable when I stayed in a virgin hotel! I thought that was such a nice touch! They even had a card stating why the prices were low. Hearing that now they are free is amazing!
Very interesting from a personal level as the one and only time I was in that building was my wedding day. 20 years ago, doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun☺️. Thanks for the video👍
Found your channel bcuz of your Iceland experience of fleeing the eruption. Love your easy way of showing things and you’re just doing this for all us regular ppl out here. Thanks and keep on.
What a lovely hotel and I think that it's so good to see an old building being preserved and put to good use like that church has been here. I have to say that the top you wore first was totally on point with the general decor of the place, you had to have done that on purpose! 😊
Brilliant vlog Tim. It actually was the Registry office before Virgin took it over. My brother got married there before having their wedding reception at Murrayfield Stadium.
Dear Tim, how to make a cup of tea with loose tea. Step 1, warm the pot. Step 2. Add 2 -3 heaped teaspoons of tea to pot, depending on taste, Step 3: wait 3 to 4 minutes, Step 4. pour into cup using strainer, Step 5. Add milk 😊! Looks like the Hotel's right next to the Grassmarket, in the Old Town, so good for pubs and restaurants, end of the Cowgate, if I'm not mistaken. I thought the hotel was really lovely, but the price....jings, crivens, help ma boab!

As someone who many centuries ago used to do Breakfast shift at a hotel, including meet and greet, take to seat, take order and serving everything including the full English Breakfast (I hated that shift so much, but I still cook my bacon in the oven), I will never understand why these hotels can never time manage breakfasts to include the bloody eggs at the same time as the rest of the plate!🤣

Pretty cool.Looks like they connected several buildings together into the hotel; They did a good job decorating and incorporating the lines and style/ feel of the old building.
Great review. I’ve stayed in the Edinburgh one - but just in a “normal” room 😂 It is an amazing hotel. The attention to detail is spot on. No expense has been spared in that refurb. So stylish. They have thought of absolutely everything. My only criticism was the kettle which was the same as the one in your suite. It dribbled when you tried to pour it. 😂 Plus, are you sure the mini bar was free? When I stayed they had exactly the same selection and the price list was on the TV! It’s certainly not obvious. The only things free in my room were water and crisps. Even in a suite, I can’t see them letting you have all that stuff for free 🤔🤔🤔
I love the church re-design of this particular hotel. They should have informed you about the mini bar and all the comp treats. Love that your in Edinburgh I am about an hour an half away it's a beautiful city so much to do and see what have you got planned ? Looking forward to you sharing with us 🙂
I spent 4 nights in the Virgin Hotel in New Orleans . The hotel itself was fun and very eclectic with great rooms and especially like the soap, shampoo, conditioner that they supply (Red Flower). Unfortunately the bars were severely understaffed ( it was just after lockdown) so service was terribly slow , bordering on non existent. I'd love to check out their other hotels in the US (Nashville , Las Vegas etc). Great review and def one to keep in mind if I ever travel to Edinburgh.
I have been binge watching your vlogs since I came across it a few weeks ago .. absolutely love them ..watching from south Africa ..awesome entertainment and love your family too 🥰
Hi Tim, what a wonderful hotel! I loved it. Decorated with excellent style. A few hours ago I watched the crane hotel in Amsterdam and hated it, this hotel was really uplifting after that. I thought that the price was reasonable for what you received., although a sign saying that the minibar was complementary would be a nice touch! Thank you for another very professional video. All the best from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Love the vlogs, as always. That room/church is absolutely gorgeous. Wrote this even before you told us the price. Looks like your using a GoPro, but which version is it, I wonder. As for the software you use on your edits is something I would love to know. Excellent editing too.

I can’t get enough I’ve been catching up watching all that I can. So much information on every video. I so enjoy traveling along with you. I come home from work and relax to your videos. I just had my brother as well as my 4 grown daughters watching now and has subscribed and agree. Thanks for such amazing videos I look forward to catching up on all your past videos as well as new ones.
Great video Tim never heard of a Virgin hotel. Keep the vlogs coming
I hope you said you'd left something in the room and went back to snaffle some minibar haha I felt your pain when you said it was included.
love the new production values.
new lol
Love the room, bet Eve loves it too, and so would Gabby given the chance! 😀Edinburgh is such a fabulous place...
I prefer the videos when you go with your wife. Great banter and connection
I come from Edinburgh ,and am so happy you love our architecture 😊 great review 🎉🎉🎉
I thoroughly enjoy watching your sojourns throughout different parts of the World. I live in Australia and haven't seen you visit here yet. And yes, I would like you to stay at more of the Virgin Hotels. By the way your wife Gabbie, and baby Jasper are delightful.
I needed your total transparency after watching the final of The Traitors. Fab Tim!
lol I have never seen that .. any good?
So impressive. They did such a beautiful job on that hotel.
Great video, as always, Tim.
The playing card keys are a very nice touch.
You have to put the loose tea in the teapot provided Tim then use the strainer to catch the tea leaves goodness me!! 😂😂😂
Love that your in Edinburgh I am about an hour an half away it's a beautiful city so much to do and see what have you got planned ? Looking forward to you sharing with us 🙂
Just came across your channel yesterday and im hooked! Love your conent
Yay! Thank you!
Well that beats the heck out of that crane hotel in Amsterdam, my friend. What a lovely place. Thanks for the trip!❤🎉
I have watched many, MANY of your excellent videos and IMO this is the best room thus far! So cool!!
Beautiful place...love the red white and gray immaculate attention to detail will have to stay there some evening
Interesting hotel, love the Bell Tower Room. ❤

Great to see you in Scotland, what a lovely hotel, apologies for the weather up here!
lol last time I was here it was lovely
One of my favorite Hotels so far ..
Gorgeous..
Your videos are on another level ..
Thanks so much
Absolutely love your videos Tim! This room aka chamber was BLOODY FABULOUS ❤❤❤❤❤ How cozy 🤩
Heyy that's a nice room. I love everything inside. Not too classy however, I like the simplicity it shows.
Love the vlogs, as always. That room/church is absolutely gorgeous. Wrote this even before you told us the price. Looks like your using a GoPro, but which version is it, I wonder. As for the software you use on your edits is something I would love to know. Excellent editing too.
It was a very good travel day blog today chilling out and relaxing staying in virgin hotels Edinburgh hotel for the holiday vibes tim
