I have one and equipped it with four AD5B and two ADB4. The advantage of this is that you can direct all power to the shields and compensate for the lower hp. Agile fighters are too nimble for you, but they also dont have the power to kill you quickly so you can just fly away. If they not get a good shot on your wings and make you spin lol.
I love this ship. It has good firepower, good durability, and good cargo capacity. The only problem is the maneuverability. This ship flys like a rocket powered brick. While it maneuvers decently in general but the fine adjustments to pointing the nose and guns is truly horrible. Without gimbles its VERY frustrating to keep the weapons on target or make slight adjustments if you are landing somewhere tight. I would give it an overall 7.5/10 . If there was a way to fix the maneuverability issues this would be my absolute favorite ship. One weird thing with it is the elevator goes to the roof of the ship, there is nothing up there though. And you can buy it in game, thats how i got mine. Can be bought from New Deal on Hurston, Lorville. Was about 6 or 7 million aUEC.
When it first came out it was annoying as hell to fly in atmo. Now that they have fixed that, it is much better and flies like any other large brick like the connie. They also fixed the elevator and added an extra button outside. I have since gone back to it as my daily driver and do everything ship. Maybe after they redo the connie interior I will consider changing back, but 80% of the reason I came here from ED was for immersion. Corsair kills the Connie in immersion. Connie is just a boring hollow shell inside. Great for people who don't want immersion though I guess. Sad life tbh lol.
I think it needs a few tweaks to go from mildly annoying to use to a great ship. Most notably, those wings cant take a single hit without causing a bunch of torque imbalances. This could be from missiles you cant dodge or from knocking the top wing coming out of a hangar - since the corsair just fits through somehow.
I’ve honestly gotten hitting with missiles quite a few times and wings never detached lol. Ik it happens to some people but I swear I’ve never had problems apart from when someone rammed me
@@bray8949 just to be clear, the wings themselves don't get removed, but they get that torque imbalance none the less and the Corsair gets really hard to fly
@@MichaelDBruce oh ok I think I understand. I rarely get a torque imbalance and I’ve manages to do quite a lot of consecutive erts in 3.17 with corsair. After rep wipe I didn’t have time to grind up rep again soo

Also one thing that i have experienced a few times when i got the corsair is that after you have been hit a bit with torpedos you cant fly faster than 40 without getting MASSIVE right steering.
Yeah I think they may definitely need to have a fix for that the wings are massive and will most likely take a hit at some point so definitely need to lower the amount they impact the steering when damaged
I've had that happen in a lot of ships. When I first bought the Corsair a few months ago it didn't take much to throw into just spinning when you hit the trust. I almost traded it in. Now that I'm doing Group VHRT's I been running missions with it and no longer experience this. Before it was almost every time. The Corsair has taken some beating as I generally go straight for the bounty and take it out while tanking what I can't dodge from the other 3 ships. Taking a size 5 Torp is never a good idea with any size 3 ship. A size 9 and it's over. I will say it takes more flairs to shake missiles in the Corsair than a Connie with both running about the same components though. Will be loading up those gatlings and testing them on HH's soon for for. Tally will still be my main bounty hunter when it comes to Valk's, Reclaimers, and HH's. Problem is there seems to be no soft death with a size 9 torp.
@@tacticoolsteve I was too. And yeah I did a couple runs no problem but she's too big to trade illegals and too small for bulk. The Corsair is definitely a beautiful ship. I just think the Vulcan will be better for my game style. I'm gonna fix ships, maybe refuel, prob not rearm, keep the cargo free for shady deals and live on her for large amounts of time maybe with a 2 or 3 man crew but usually solo.
I almost melted mine as well, but last night I was doing group vhrts in it with a buddy in his Scorpius, he was taking out the smaller ships and I went for the bigger ones, we were destroying everything, he ended up blowing up on a invisible asteroid, so he jumped in the copilot's seat, and we kept going and destroying everything we came across, the only thing I don't like about having someone in the copilot's seat is now the pilot doesn't have control of the triangle... But he was doing pretty good at diverting power to where it was needed, and he was shooting missiles and controlling the remote turret, it was a good time

I've owned the Taurus and Andromeda - the Andro has S1 missiles, but the snub was a bomb in 3.17.x that would explode when you take ballistic hits to the rear - friend of mine lost two nacelles from this. Corsair has better pilot DPS (4x S5 and 2xS4) and three turrets to the Taurus single (the bottom turret on the Andro can't fire 85% downwards anyway) - all turrets on a Corsair can fire directly forward, adding 6 x s2 guns to the fight. Biggest issue with the Corsair is that its fragile, ballistic hits to the rear will cause asymmetrical thrust, and the wings can rip off. But against a laser armed opponent, you can just facetank like a Connie
Pirating😂 there's no such thing in SC, all you can do is blow a ship up when they leave hyper space as everyone just jumps from location to location. Until they get rid of location jumping pirating will never happen
Well currently now with jump town going pirating is most definitely a thing we often wait for a squad to load up there larger carriers and leave for a trading point before we attack often a larger ship takes a long time to leave atmosphere making this a leather weapon against them
