All of these Kitfox build videos are giving me the urge to jump on the bandwagon. Will likely wait another 18 months or so to see how everyones STI’s turn out. Interested to see how you manage the fabric!
Go for it! I was planning on taking a fabric covering course, but they've all been canceled until further notice... Probably have to just try it out and hope for the best 😬 haha.
@@SpectreFox There are a lot of good tutorials on here. It just think it seems intimidating because even as a general aviation mechanic, working with fabric is a rarity.
@@SpectreFox Hey brother. have heard anything from you in a while and wasn't sure how to get in touch with you. How goes the build? I have started mine. Just the horizontal stab. and elevator, but at least I'm started. Are you on the team site? Hope all is well.
@@tman3587 Thanks for reaching out brother! Sorry I've been MIA for a while. Was in the process of searching/buying a house and moving in so that's been taking up much of my time. I'm all settled in now though and getting back to it! Will have more on my next "monthly" update video.Glad to see you've started on yours! I'm on the team site, but not been very active on there. I just went on there to ask a question about the bushings. Feel free to reach out anytime! I'm usually pretty responsive to UA-cam comments, but just been busy.
I love the Kitfox and thinking of ordering the kit in 6-12 months. Love the channel and seeing what's ahead for me as a new prospective builder. Keep up the good work. Subbed!
Awesome! Nothing has been hard, just time and elbow grease. Awesome community of people that are happy to help with anything you run in to (feel free to reach out to me anytime as well). Glad you're enjoying the videos and thanks for the sub!!
Excellent job. Im hoping next year i can place an order for the speedster. Keep the videos coming. I am just learning along and taking all the good feedbacks.
Nice video. I reamed the bearings or bushings with the 3/16 reamer to fit the elevator bolts to the horizontal stabilizer. I assumed they were not suppose to fit like all the rest of the parts. lol
Your videos are helpful, you and 7KF are ahead of me and its good to see what you guys are doing. The belt sander is nice, but be careful, it's easy to over do it...
Howard. Are you building a SS7 as well? I've just started my build. Are you on the team site. Those of us building at the same time should work together. Safety in numbers.
@@howardlentz6047 How far along are you? I'm really just starting. I'm starting with the tail to get me feet wet. The previous builder did some of the fuselage but I'm not happy with the control column, so I'm going take it apart next.
Good choice! They are really great planes and you will enjoy building it! It was about 9 months for mine, but I believe it's gotten longer since then. Kitfox should be able to tell you if you reach out to them.
Once you get around to it, Project Kitfox has a number of detailed videos on laying the fabric and sewing them on his channel. Could be a good reference for some tips and tricks when it comes time for you.
Thanks for the tip Dan! I'll check out his videos. I was hoping to take the class from the EAA, but they've all been cancelled until further notice. Glad there's good reference videos for me to go off of.
It can seem complex when you look at the project as a whole, but if you just focus on it by section, it's not bad. There will be things that you run in to that you'll have to research, but there's a great community out there of people who have already gone through the process and are willing to help out. The forums at TeamKitfox.com are a great resource. As far as pricing, I'm building the STi and have just purchased the firewall back ($35,995.00) and some additional options (video on that coming soon). Still have to purchase the firewall forward, engine, avionics, etc... When it's all done, I'm thinking I will be around $90k - $100k, but I'm getting the nice avionics, autopilot, etc.. It all depends on the options you select. If you want to go with an inexpensive build, you can build one for around $45,000.
@@SpectreFox I took all the covering off (was started by some one else) and am correcting the errors according to the manual and painting the fuse tubes. I also put on the nose wheel plate and support tubes.
Not sure what happened to the video quality of the intro there...

Will definitely be new to me... but it all is haha. You'll probably get your build done in no time since you're a mechanic!
Great videos. Please keep them coming. Pick up my SS7 kit this week and will be starting soon.
Thanks and will do! Congrats!! Feel free to reach out with any questions!

I'm Dreaming about flying and making a kitfox but still just a broke college student. So I basically live my dream through watching your videos
Just got my SS7 two weeks ago, planning on doing similar update videos. Thank for all the tips! Keep it up
Congrats on the arrival of your kit! 🙌 Feel free to reach out with any questions!
Love your channel. I’m looking at building my own design, probably jet powered. Thanks for the motivation. Keep the videos coming
Thanks! Jet powered would be awesome and would love to see it!
SpectreFox thanks. Look forward to seeing more of your content please
Nice job, love the tips, your video’s are great in both content and quality, thanks. My SS7 kit will be ready for delivery in November.
Thank you Steve! Hope the videos help when your kit arrives! Feel free to reach out with any questions.

I tried reaming one... Did not go well.. lol.. I was unable to fit the reamer to pull through though
Looking good! Thanks for the update.
Thanks Mark!

Nice one! Good progress 👍 Can't wait for the next one!
Thanks Rhys!
My Man! Great to see it moving along! Jealous of the belt sander!
Definitely glad I picked one up!
Nice progress on your Kitfox. Does the Kitfox have an adjustable horizontal stabilizer for trim?
Yes kitfox does.
Thanks Juergen! Yes, it does as Harlan mentioned.
It's electricily driven as well, which is a bit different from the cubs I fly
Nice one I want to build one. Is there a long wait currently for kit delivery?

What is the complexity of building a kitfox and how much did the kit cost.

I want to build one in accouple years once I have the money to
