I was doing that exact thing the other night and as I'm looking at the orange ones like bettlejuice, I said to myself just how massive do some of these huge stars have to be if we can still see them even though they are 100s of trillions of miles away? Although tough to spot unless u have good eyes it's unreal the distance n more so the sheer mass of these things!!
@@bmac85north the vastness is what gets me. Makes me feel small in a good way. I should think about that more. It's easy for me to get caught up in human misery but in some way, it's a small thing.

@@bmac85north you ever look at a map of the visible universe and see how tiny the supercluster we reside in is? It's one of 10 million. And that's just the observable, universe, which is a tiny fraction of the entire universe.

I don’t like him because I think he’s developed a huge ego since he’s the main astronomer known by people, so I think he’s taken that as he’s the best astronomer and the smartest guy in America. Same thing for Bill Nye, any celebrity scientist seems to develop a sense of great importance, and treat themselves as the ultimate authority in these fields. If Neil just stuck to Astronomy I wouldn’t care as much, but he tries to interject himself into societal issues and act as if he has all the correct answers for those as well because he’s just so much smarter than everyone else, but then he just comes across as a condescending douche parroting existing talking points with an added dose of “intellectualism”.

Not everybody that's lived was a warrior and had a war mentality. Alot of what humans do is ego based. Wanting to be the best at whatever or I built the best most extravagant shrine to myself. I would like more people to speak and analyse that concept of rising to godly status athletes who use their muscle power to perform.
