    So how would i use this to tell if some of my batteries need chucking ? I guess either if theyve been goin for hours and still on same bar or show up as fully charged then need partly charging again next day ? Some are fairly old and i struggle to know when to send them to the tip as my old charger has no display at all (its from the 80s lol) - still charges tho ! But i have a bunch of mismatched AA's so its hard to tell which ones are gasping their last when theres say four in one appliance. Hopefully the readouts on the Keenstone will help me have a cull ?

      Hi Claire! This charger only tells you if you're charging at 500mAh or 1000mAh. It doesn't give you a number to look at for the capacity of charge that it has. It does show you a digital bar meter according to how much charge it is holding. I think you're right about a battery not charging or discharges too quickly after charging, then it's time to replace. I would get a cheap multimeter to test batteries to determine if they should be thrown away. The cheap ones are about $15 on Amazon and are fine for basic readings like DC voltage. Thanks for asking and I hope I gave a good answer.

    Do you have know of any battery chargers that can run off of a USB connection? Basically I'm looking for something to be able to run off of a powerbank or mini solar panel

    In manuals in Amazon is written 21700 also possible. Is that true?

    • @BMonsterLaboratory
      @BMonsterLaboratory  Рік тому

      hi there! I don't have a physical manual at the moment. I have never owned a 21700 battery so I went on to Amazon and look at the reviews and found this -
      "My old Nitecore Intellicharger charger broke and I needed a replacement that was cheap and could be delivered overnight. This had good reviews, so I decided to give it try. It works very well and has a bright digital display. My only complaint is that 21700 batteries are a tight fit."
      It looks like you can charge them but it would be a snug fit. The Keenstone website lists that battery as one you can recharge, so the answer looks like yes, you can use the 21700 in this charger👍
      here's the website that lists the batteries www.keenstone.co/product/18650-battery-charger-keenstone-smart-universal-charger-lcd-display-for-rechargeable-batteries-ni-mh-ni-cd-aa-aaa-li-ion-lifepo4-imr-10440-14500-16340-rcr123a-26650/

    Do you know of a good charger for D cells?

    • @BMonsterLaboratory
      @BMonsterLaboratory  2 роки тому

      hello! I haven't owned rechargeable D cells in years but EBL seems to sell a lot of them on Amazon. I like Tenergy rechargeable batteries - I bet they make a decent charger, too. I would probably go with EBL or Tenergy, but I can tell you that from experience.

    I went through a few chargers and I started with an xtar v c4, and then I bought a xtar vc8plus because it grades the batteries. Does this keen stone model truly know the true milliamps from the time you put it in. And does it have an auto shut off feature because I noticed it had a timer. Grading: for example if it is depleted to zero and it's rated for 2000 will that number be accurate because I've bought really nice batteries and thought that the batteries aren't any good and it turns out I just found out tonight that my VC8 only charges correctly on the odd numbers of 1,3,5, and 7 which just make it a four battery charger but it does have a true grading process to where it completely charges the battery it completely discharges the battery and then it charges it again but that does no good when the bays are inconsistent. and I bought $60 worth of Fujitsu batteries and sent those back cuz I thought they were bad then I bought the ladda 1900s some of them graded it 2000-2100 while others would only grade to 900. ( Now I purchased the eneloop 2000 mah with 2100 recharges. And then for some reason these numbers would always change because I would label it with a little sharpie so I found out it's the charger that's my problem but just as long as the keen stone you recommend shows the true mah of the battery I would be fine with it.

    • @BMonsterLaboratory
      @BMonsterLaboratory  2 роки тому

      Hi Patrick. The Keenstone charger doesn't measure the mA of the battery but the mA output of the charge. There are two options, 500mA and 1000mA. I always slow charge at 500mA to get the most life out of my batteries. The time on the charger just tells you how long it has been charging. There is an over-charge protection feature - the battery charger stops charging when complete. Overall, it has been very reliable and I still use it regularly with NiMH and 18650 batteries. A battery charger that grades batteries would be convenient though. I do check my 18650 batteries periodically with a multimeter.

      @@BMonsterLaboratory I have a multimeter .I didn't realize you could check the mah of nimh bats, I'll try that. Does this unit include the wall adapter that plugs into the larger 110v input port on the back? I guess I will try to rephrase that when I saw your video you put each battery in that charger and individual numbers came up as to how much charge was already in the battery. Question number one. Is that an accurate representation? Question number two: after the automatic shut off is that an accurate representation of the batteries mah. I know it cannot grade the batteries. But I do have 2 slots that will accurately work for grading batteries on the vc8.. But most importantly I was wanting to know if it included a really good wall charger that would produce a true 500 mah across all four slots.at the end of the day for what I use the batteries for if this charger you're recommending is reliable I'm going to buy it. Thank you

    • @BMonsterLaboratory

      You can check the mah of batteries but you would have to put them in circuit and time their drain from full to empty....only way i could think of measure mah. It comes with wall plug and cigarette lighter plug for the car. I made a quick video check it out - ua-cam.com/video/4Bj-DMUSTFU/v-deo.html Thanks for the questions. I have the same charger and don't have the instructions anymore. I'm charging some 18650's. Is there a reason you changed yours at 500? I'm not sure which one to do. Thanks for any info you have.

    • @BMonsterLaboratory

      you can switch between charging at 500mA and 1000mA. I charge everything slow unless I really need it quick. 1000mA will get the job done faster...that's all. My charging unit is still going strong. I think this was a good buy.

      Hi Yukka! I don't see that listed in the manual. It says it's suitable for almost all lithium-ion batteries on the market and NiMH, NiCD, and LiFePO4.It may work though...I just don't know. Maybe there is a newer charger out there that includes NiZn? Great question...thank you for asking!

      I contacted the seller on Amazon, and they said those batteries are not suitable for this charger. The only NiZn chargers I see out there, are the basic ones with the dim LED indicators; which tells me nothing. High voltage rechargeable NiZns have been around for over a decade. You would think by now they would have smart chargers.

      Hi there Piers Taylor. I may be incorrect, but are you referring to LiPo remote control batteries? This charger is not for that kind of battery. You can recharge Li-ion, Ni-MH, Ni-CD, and LiFePO4 on this unit. Is the battery you want to charge have an adapter on the end?
