Hej Todderbert, thanks for the review of the Xtar VC4 Visible Mixer Charger. I have a Vapcell S4+ Smart Charger, also with four slots, and I am very satisfied with that battery charger. So the Vapcell S4 Smart Charger can charge different types of batteries and in different sizes, and it also has a lot of other battery features like battery care, charging manually or automatically, and so on. Take care Todderbert and have a nice weekend.
Todderbert I thought ithe caption meant that it was an audio mixer that also charges your batteries…great for radio while hooked to your stereo…😂! Have a great day!
My old VC-2 is getting a bit wonky so it's good to see your review. I have not really kept up with this technology, and I need to begin figuring out which charger I'll go with.
Thanks for the thorough review. One question related to this specific AAA charging function ... At the beginning you showed the charging rate being able to be set to .25a. Wouldn't that solve the AAA .5A(default) charging issue? Perhaps that was only for Lion batteries? It is a nice looking and functioning charger but since I do use a lot of AAA nimh cells I would like this charging capability. Definitely interested in the Lion and lipo smaller batteries which furthers the interest in this charger. I have tried a couple of the self charging(built in micro USB) and have been happy with the higher voltage compared to the nimh...

I have had 2 of the VC4 models for over 10 years. XTAR makes good quality products.

I don't see it _replacing_ my Opus at the moment. The 0.5A fixed NiMH charge isn't great.
XTAR reads these comments, so hopefully that feature will be added in a future revision.

@@eandm8982 NiMH starts off slow, then will ramp up to .500ma no matter your choice.
@@eandm8982 If it terminates properly then 500mA isn't horrible for AAA. I use 400mA on an Opus BT-C700. Not much room for termination error, though.
I wonder using this charger instead of the standard Sony wall charger would damage Eneloop batteries
Should be ok, it charges them at .500mA The standard eneloops should have no trouble with that. The AAAs should use the wall charger though.
@@todderbertthanks for the info Boss
Just wish it had plugs for 9v on top
That would make sense.
