That small tree is too small to hold your weight.in a freeze with a storm, I think that tree would snap. Also that’s why although you have it set up correctly, it bows too much and dips too low because that tree moves about 6-10 inches, giving you that too low a seat.

Bud you need to learn you some knots, like a bowline for example. Takes you two seconds to tie, secure enough to hold an elephant, comes undone in short order. All your loops and dips and roundie-rounds are wasted effort, and make the knots much harder to untie after. Once you learn the bowline you'll kick yourself for all the times you could've used it to great effect, and it's not terribly complex.
I do that because that is what Hennessy recommends

+Heath R Thanks ! Yes the snake skins make it so nice to put away and to set back up. I always look for the tree limbs, I was deer hunting one time and a limb came down right beside me. Now I look first. I can't wait to take the hammock on a big adventure camp trip.

Thanks for mentioning the webbing straps that protect the trees. I feel strongly that all hammock manufacturers should take responsibility for the damage they cause when they do not include some form of protection for the trees.

This hammock is awesome !
There is an ongoing debate as to which is better: Tent or hammock camping. I have a free-standing REI "Passage 2" two person tent with rain fly. I also have a Hennessy "Safari Asym Zip" hammock with rain fly and "Snake Skins." I'm very experience at set-up/break-down in both wet and dry conditions. I feel the tent is generally faster and more versatile than the hammock. The only situation where the hammock wins any comparison is where the terrain is so irregular and angled that laying horizontal in the tent for sleep is impossible. And of course, you can't set up your hammock in the desert or above the tree line - - no trees. And if you can't find appropriately spaced trees of sufficient strength, you're still not going to be able to set up your hammock even in a wooded area. I can't tell you how many times I've been unable to fly my hammock in an ideal location due to the lack of appropriate trees. Very frustrating. The best way to deal with the shortcomings of hammock camping is to remember places for future reference while tent camping. I'm always saying to myself that I'd love to return to a particular place with my hammock. I love my Hennessy hammock because it's constructed of the very best quality materials and is loaded with features, but it cannot take the place of a good technical tent. I wouldn't bet my life on a hammock in extreme conditions.
+James Brennan I agree there are some advantages and disadvantages to both. One thing I like about the hammock is your not on the ground and that is especially nice when it is raining a lot. In the dessert it wouldn't work to good for sure !

Can you adjust the sag or is it always the same? The hennessy website says something about „exceptional comfort every time“ and that that is reached through the ridgeline. Does that mean Hennessy sews the end of the hammock to the ridgeline without any possibility of adjusting sag?
The ridge line is adjustable and so is the sag,

yes on the seat all it has on it is 600r it dosent have the xr on it at all. tool bag is blue. bump stating it? in a high gear? possible?

It’s an extra option, I would recommend it if you are using the hammock on cold weather

+allen Henry The wort part of it is starting it. It is kick start and extremely hard to start at times. When it's running it's a tractor. I think it is to heavy for the woods but it is ok on the dirt roads. You are talking about the dirt only version right ?
