FINALLY some legit mountain bike jumps that I can actually clear and take flight on. Jumping my bike has been a serious sticking point for so long, but I feel like I had a breakthrough at the Camp Murphy MTB trails at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Florida.
🇺🇸 50 State Shred MAP: 50stateshred.com (Updated as I post on Patreon)
SO MANY jumps that were SO SWEET along with a ton of actual flow in Florida, which is hard to come by in the flatlands. This place rules, I’ll be dreaming about riding these types of jumps for a long time.
The volunteers at Club Scrub are awesome!

Brian, this 50 state road trip has the right balance of riding and interesting history which really makes your channel stand out. Keep up the awesome work.
Great video, Brian! Thanks for showcasing the JD/Camp Murphy MTB Trails during your 50 State Shred. Dorsey Tennant and Club Scrub members have done a great job building a trail system that can be enjoyed by riders of all levels...including a 58 year-old novice/intermediate rider like me. My hat’s off to these volunteers for all their hard work. Glad you were able to experience the fun of JD, and hope you visit again in the future!
I felt in love with MTB riding there 2 years ago, and now, I ride every weekend the weather allows it. As always Brian, excellent video; and thanks for taking us with you on every video 🤘😎
Same here! Started riding there 3 years ago and couldn't stop thinking about biking since! PS: Club Scrub is awesome!
It's a great sport and I'm happy you are enjoying it. It never gets old.
Great video. I remember riding there 20 years ago when there were trees and before Club Scrub put down all the crushed shell. The sand was really bad and they used to use tree bark and mulch to mix with the sand to make it semi ride-able. Club Scrub deserves so much credit in making this park so much fun to ride today. I wish I lived closer and could ride it more often. Hopefully Brian is on to Markham, my home park.
Always fun to see my home trail ridden by really experienced MTB-ers. It helps me see how I can progress there. Glad you enjoyed!
At the end of the 50 state shred, I really want to see a re-cap video that explains all the different trail surfaces, riding conditions, etc encountered on the trip. Such a cool damn series
I knew this day would come! So dope to see you enjoy getting your wheels off the ground 🤘 Keep at it Brian
Great video Brian. Local trail for me and my friends. We love JD and Club Scrub. Thanks for visting us.
Always fun to see you riding in places that I'm actually familiar with!
“This place kicks serious butt hole!!!” - bkxc 2020
maybe he needs a better seat ? :O
That place sucked I rode there a couple years ago
Watching this video and you go through those little jump lines brought a smile to my face. Looks like a lot of fun.
Awesome series Brian. Your enthusiasm comes through loud and clear.
Loving the 50 stare shred. Living through your vids this past wee while. Started the gym in January and struggling with gym/ride balance. Time manage ment. But these vids been keeping the fire alive.
You picked a hell of a year for it. 🤦♂️
So good so far man! Can’t wait for Bentonville. You’re gonna be blown away at how much they’ve added since you were here last.
The light, the landscape. Looks amazing. Great fun.
Great trail BK! Keep up the great work and please stay safe out there bro !
My home trails. So awesome to see you enjoying them
Not sure where you are now but your videos have been a lifesaver during these times. Thank you and stay safe dude.
Looks awesome! Going to give it a go there for sure. Thanks for sharing your experiences with the van. Hope you'll upgrade it eventually.
This was an awesome video! Loved seeing you do the jumps. They seem like so much fun.
Love your vids man. So loving it. I'm doing a video marathon. Soooo therapeutic!
I ride those trails atleast 4 times a week I’m glad you had a great time
This place looks epic!! I'm loving the series so far!
I live close to the park its fun to go to in the winter but in the summer...
@@Man-kk3bn How is it on the weekends? I live near here, had no idea the trails were this big here
@@singletracksender9021 depends can be kind of busy some days in my experience its just luck, the trails themselves are great, very well maintained and fun to ride on, just don't go in the summer obviously
Really happy to see you enjoying our beautiful state!
Glad you enjoyed my local trail! It’s definitely a blast. Great flow and the jumps aren’t too crazy for folks that can’t send it too hard! Just rode it today on my Gravel Bike that was interesting.
Also Papichulos doesn’t disappoint
7:57 - When you tell yourself that you didn't case but the audio says something else! 😂🤣
Your channel is really good man. My wife and I love watching your content. Keep it up and be well!
@bkxc great riding with ya thanks hope to ride with you again someday keep up the awesome vids 😁👍👊
Love seeing your skills progress and love your honest reflection about it. You are a beast on those skinnies. Wow!
Dude, you’re on the no end vacation. Safe travels . Thanks for posting
Florida finds a way to make things work with what they have, I love it.
look'n like a natural in the air buddy! good job 🤘
Man, what a place! The best one so far.
Love the video Brian! Great to see you nailing jumps, as you say - commit or eat shit!
Hello Mr BKXC from the U.K. currently self isolating and the majority of our bike parks are closed until this whole thing blows over! Your videos are helping, keep it up!
Lol, we used to think It would blow over. Doesn't help with the way we Americans handle it either 😅
I love JD! My favorite home trail. Awesome video!
Can't help but admire that van, even though it's hard to sleep in, looks awesome!
Love seeing you riding my home trails!
Love the videos, keep them coming!
Dude you are KILLING IT! What an amazing set of trails down there! Never would have expected such fun jump lines in a place like Florida. Might want to consider a white vinyl wrap for the van to help cool things down?
Damn, I remember when your wheels almost never left the ground, now you're a natural. Nice mountain bike progression!
Love the series .
Love it. My home trail system. Woot Club Scrub!!
Great video again brian
It's pretty cool seeing how they keep the trail interesting with no elevation. These are totally different trails!
Awesome brother!! Glad you finally made it down here. Which I knew, would have loved to ride with you at JD or Markham!!
Glad the weathers holding up because England is so rainy and cold at the minute 🤣
Weather in FL is always nice this time of year but the trails in summer, brutal. Love to go ride England some day. Covered in snow here in Colorado but soon we'll begin to thaw!
Yeah I can imagine although If you ride England June time is best as the trails run perfect anytime before they are just rivers 🤣
Fantastic Brian such a lucky guy!
Hey bud that looked soooo fun, love the channel 😊
Awesome vid!
Hey Brian,
here in Italy it’s day 11 (I think) of the global lockdown. So it’s 11 days we cannot - and shouldn’t - ride outside. Your videos are oxygen to me. Thanks!
Sweet trails 👍🚵♂️
I used to go camping at JD as a kid with youth group in the early to mid 90s. We used to hike for hours and there was this old abandoned water treatment facility in the middle of nowhere!
Great Video!!
awesome trail!!! \m/
Pretty much by backyard...was gonna go gravel ride in Lox to markham tomorrow but after watch n this I feel the pull to go to JD....awesome van and series.
Best flow of MTB trails on the SE of FL for sure they have done an outstanding job at JD
Those look like pretty fun trails. Good way to get comfortable on jumps.
Cool ride!
Stay safe and well!
Florida definitely seems to have some gems 🤘
so glad you made it to SFL, JD is the best
Great video of great park!
If you make it up to northern Florida, I’d recommend checking out Graham Swamp in Palm Coast as well as Tom Brown Park in Tallahassee! Both super rad trails with some awesome features. Thanks for showcasing all the amazing work that the trail builders do here!
You picked the worst time to take a roadtrip around the country with this virus running rampant. Keep it up though man! Absolutely loving the content.
Traffic may be less though
Less people out, not the worst thing!
Great video, thank you!
Definitely look into the history of Trapper Nelson, too. There are some amazing trails in Florida.
That place is rad! Hoping to get back there for an episode on my channel as well. It’s definitely on the short list for revisits.
Wow.. Such a cool place.
Get an awning for the van and hang in the shade out doors!
Not sure if you have a roof fan but those paired with screened bed windows are magic!
GREAT series by the way!!
Your jumping is sooo much better! Glad you're enjoying it. Don't forget to wash your hands!
Awesome video Brian! If your still anywhere near central fla you should check out Turkey creek and if you like jumps check out Grapefruit trails. They are both in Palm bay fl. Turkey creek always gets passed up i love that place. Yellow, red, and blue trails wooden bridges tons of fun!
My first van was burgundy and, in the sun, it was hot as hell. My second van is white with AC front and rear plus good side and roof insulation. So much better! Key is keeping the sun from coming through the windows.
This is the best trails i ever seen
I bet sleeping in the van is a lot easier than those jumps lol just use the same commitment Brian...still a beast!!!
I rode here once years ago and it definitely wasn’t like that. Must check it out next time I’m over on the east coast.
When you get ready to shred in Kansas I recommend that you ride the best trails in Kansas which can be found at Wilson Lake in the western part of the state just off of I-70.
great to see you catch some air! you'll be ready for Crank it up next time you hit Whistler! ;-)
I wonder if Brian wouldn't benefit from a re-tune for a more "poppy" set-up for those trails with jumps? Maybe a volume-space or two? ;)
Maaaaaan Florida is beautiful 😍😍
This gotta be the biggest mtb joey channel on UA-cam, it’s hilarious haha
Great video! Hey where's the sampler been? I miss his videos.
Love this vid! I live 1hr away
Bk, in Southern Florida some of the better trail systems are markham park, and oleta river state park. Also Amelia Earhart park, though i haven't ridden there in a very long time. Nice vid.
I'm looking forward to seeing the shreds in the northern states...
Check out Boyette Scrub Preserve while in FL. It's not too far from Alafia. The North and South Abyss and Ridgeline are super fun! Enjoy the trip of a lifetime!
Shouldve come to Markham Trails and Virginia Key- its been rebuild / lots of new features trails since last time Seth (bike hacks) used to ride.
Yes! The jump line is freaking awesome now at Markham!
Right on! Looks like MIA is next! We were there last week as well (JD). Quiet Waters and West Delray are our local parks. I help with the trail team at Quiet Waters.
Hopefully he will hit QDUB before they close down a large chunk of the trails.
I camped there back in the mid-seventies. We would ride our bikes (we were 14 at the time) up from Miami Beach and camp at Johnathan Park on a long weekend.
cant wait till you get to Wisconsin
while your down that way you gotta go to Markham Park. its an awesome place to ride. then when you come back up to north florida, San Felasco is a really good place. its just north of gainesville. alot of hills.
Brian, you should have a little map shot at the beginning of the episode with a little pin drop to show where you're riding! That way, if someone wants to visit they can find it faster. Like, zoom into the map and drop a pin or something.
You should check out the Florida Keys. Good video. That ride looked fun for sure.
Really gotta get a fan that blows air across your body. I do that in my van in the summer and it really helps get my temperature down to a comfortable range.
In new hampshire you have to ride highland mtb park. It’s my favorite place to ride and there is a trail for everyone
Akira Ung lived in nh for 4.5 years and did not make it there once. Maybe someday if I feel like going back north again.
Brian, your in my backyard now. Looks like you're next stops could be Markham Park, Virginia Key or Amelia. Have fun Bro!
😁🤙🙌🙌🙌🚴🚴🚴🌴☀️
I'll have to go back there and see what is new
awesome
Sweet!!!!!
C’mon over to the best trail in SWFL! Caloosahatchee Regional Park in Alva, FL. 11 miles with plenty of fun features and punchy climbs! The groundwork was laid when the Army Corps of Engineers dredged and straightened the river, dumping Caloosahatchee clay on the north side. The Mudcutters have done the rest! There is a campground for your van.
That place is rad
