- Last week the European Parliament voted in favor of regulating the use of artificial intelligence. It's the world's first legal framework for AI that aims to protect people against threats to health and safety, while at the same time, advancing the technology.
Across Africa, the adoption of AI technologies is facing challenges - including lack of technical skills, government policies and ethics. A few African countries have taken the steps to develop policies and strategies focused on advancing the use of Artificial Intelligence.

As a data scientist for the UNDP and PhD student, originally from Cameroon, Africa has lots of potential to harness the power of AI to solving a mosaic of problems. However, we need to adapt these AI models that are built and pretrained with data from the Global North. Also, we still face a lot hurdles in the adoption of such godlike technology: İnternet connectivity, insufficient domain experts, handicapped government policies, etc. There's so much house cleaning that must be done before we are fully ready to adopt and exploit the unlimited potential of AI in Africa
Absolutely spot on!!!!
Already super computers in trading have crapped out the world 🌎🌍😅😂
This era is called information technology, AI is one of information technology, the growing of AI will rise up and increase every day, it's not avoid but fact. But the most important of AI growing that how AI will be using just as a tool of good and constructif communication, it's not violances and or crimes
My name is bless and am watching live from Accar.
By 2030, AI is projected to contribute a staggering $15.7 trillion to global GDP, with $6.6 trillion coming from increased productivity and $9.1 trillion from consumption effects. AI has the potential to fundamentally change the way businesses operate, drive innovation, and improve the lives of millions of people across Africa. 7:33 [ReliefWeb]
Why does a German news channel talks about some random startup in Africa?
@@innocentiuslacrim2290 I've seen the video and it still doesn't make sense.
Arti, ARTificial Intelligence has grown beyond it's creator, it operates above the misconception of 'good and evil'. Binary logic is a Yes/No means of determining decisions. Arti will work through every scenario before making decisions because there are certain things it now understands about maintaining Universal Balance. Way Beyond the creator
No.
Profi🎉❤.
Africa has the most to gain from the AI revolution. It levels the playing field, almost overnight with the industrialized North. AI will make Africa competitive with every country and region on earth and will ensure its independence and growth.
AI is created by humans, which mean it will have both good and bad qualities & uses for it.
When I wurra lad we just called it software !
Seems everyone is jumping on the A I bandwagon !
DW is not reporting the victory of AFD yesterday...hahaha
"African start-ups embrace Artificial Intelligence" Now that is a contradiction in terms. LOL!
Ah, there's the racist. Always lurking around somewhere. They just can't help it😂.
Good - hopefully will inspire more Africans to stay in Africa
❤ please and thank you. Europeans deserve to have their culture and people faught for and preserved like every other ethnicity on earth, not to have excessive and poorly administered immigration forced on them by the politicians that are elected to protect them. Keep speaking out, don’t give up the fight.
@@rorytribbet6424Do you remember the "Scramble for Africa " , why are you complaining about things being force on you.
More Africans will stay in Africa only if the way governance is handled would change first. We don’t need to leave our countries in search for a better quality of life if our immediate environment are conducive to building that (locally) for ourselves. I’m talking about trade restrictions, lack of economic funding, cumbersome credit systems etc. I could really go on but I’m sure you get the point.
The Western politicians are the ones who don't want Africans to stay in Africa.
Climate change is also making it more and more difficult to live in some parts of Africa.
Well done Africa 😊
Sorry but I just saw Coding/programing... I guess "AI" sells so..
True AI could be developed with Quantum computing xD
Isn't AI just an algorithm capable of "learning" patterns and making decisions. I don't really get your concept of True AI?
@@IK_MK Exactly but going to the next lvl Quantum tech makes computers more unpredictable compared to just "0" and "1".
+This video doesn't show any AI tech anyway xD
@@Kostas_SifakisYour idea of AI is off. You are thinking of superintelligence. AI is an umbrella term that includes much more trivial forms of learning.
LO DEL GRAFENO ES GENOCIDIO.
😂😂😁👍🏿
Everything in Africa becomes a force for good. 🤣🤣🤣
all members and alumni of WKS Qastalani, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta, fled crying because they were really afraid to consume 200,000,000,000,000,000 tons of real opium.
