He got his old job back, pumping gas for 95 cents an hour. (gas was 32c cpg) Bought a 3 year old,1963 Corvette for $800.00, but had to sell it because his car insurance went from $18.00 a year, to $11.00 a month. He's retired, and has a TDR now, and his insurance is $1,600+ a month. No kid is coming home to one of these ever. Get Well Soon Jay.

But your dad was only making $4k a year when he bought that house. U were making $10k a year probably. Now the Ram is $65-$70 and the avg working guys making $55-60k probably. Its all relative
Jay nailed it - you go to a parking lot at an Army facility and you find the TRXs, Ford Raptors, and Toyota TRD specials. But there are still the Mustangs and Camaros!
Love you guys but a bit out of reality when it comes to "affordable" prices for the common man. Not many G.I's have 80 plus k to dump in a truck especially with inflation and mortgages rate increases also hope jay gets better keep up the awesome videos

I drove my wifes 13 camaro SS /RS from my house in central MA to our beach house in N.Truro MA ( 150 miles door to door ) Tuned , 562 HP at the wheels and I got 27.1 MPG lol ...Best milage of any of the cars I own lol :)

In New England where I am an automotive technician I see that people buy expensive trucks and they don't drive them much. These vehicles don't fit in their garage so they park them in their yard. The chassis becomes severely rusted and the truck becomes junk in ten years.
I’m not sure if Jay knows how much “young GI’s” get paid lol. It certainly isn’t enough to pay for this truck. This truck is for young millennials that don’t want a boring everyday truck. Like me. That why I bought one.
12 mpg is average hwy it should get about 14 or so at 55 to 60 mph. IF RAM wouldn't had been so cheap it could easily get mid teens or higher. There are plenty mpg mods with loss of hp and not going hybrid or diesel.
this was solely created to out-do Ford’s F150 Raptor, in power & size, but in doing so, this truck is a full 1000lbs heavier, along with 2 more cylinders and 250 MORE hp. Use your imagination on what the MPG is…
Mechanically model vehicles are better in a lot of ways but plastic will never outlast steel plastic is a petroleum product and eventually it will decay it will dry up it will break yes steel can rust but again they were cars 100+ years old made of steel because steel will last You gonna find a Lotta 70s and 80s cars that the metals in good shape but all the plastic body filler panels and all the plastic is just falling apart headlights I’ve got a 98 jaguar XJ8 a 2003 jaguar XK8 and my headlights are crystal clear or you know why they’re made of glass my wife got a 2013 Ford edge her headlights are made of plastic and they’re turning gray glass and steel wild Last plastic

This is cringe. I had to stop the video. No “GI’s” can’t afford this after two years in the military and this isn’t RAMs market, it’s not $80k out the door it’s $105-130k depending on markups, it’s not 160 miles to a tank it’s 300-330, it’s not $90 to fill it up it’s around $130-180 depending on location, 12mpg isn’t the best it’s around 15-16 on the highway, this isn’t a “car” it’s a truck. This is painful to watch. It’s like old men checking out the latest iPhone and calling the camera a “wiz-bang Polaroid gizmo” and asking if they sell them at the “corner store.”

I get 15mpg out of my TRX on the hwy. Better than my 08 6.0 2500 Chevy I used to have.
