Up here in Vancouver on the west coast of Canada,one of the local mountains is called Grouse Mountain. They have the same gondolas from Switzerland, and every year, guys from there come to maintain them.
I was there at the beginning of 2024 and as part of the 40 year anniversary they have a small monument in the centre of town in memory of the Last Christmas song from 1984. That is a lovely tribute to the great track and stunning location where it was filmed.
Yeah, you're right! He does deserve them! Look at all those video visualizations, I there's a lot of people viewing this, but unless he gets 1000 subscribers or more, he can't get any profit out of his great video!

I moved to Chicago in May of 1985, and my family had a brand new Mercedes Benz S500 with a mobile phone, Corvette with a mobile phone, and my cousin who owns trucking company, always carried a hand held mobile phone everywhere. Back in 1986, I met an Iranian developer in California, who was building expensive homes for rich Iranians. He had a satellite phone in a suitcase.
I thought Andrew and Yog or Yorgios (George) were good friends. NOt sure about the hotel room thing. Maybe one of them was a partier and the other one wanted a little more quiet. I don't think they had an icy relationship from all accounts. Shirley and later Pepsi with Andrew and George were all friends from what they have been saying in interviews. The other interesting thing Shirley said which supports the drinking of all the booze at the bar is that when they filmed the dinner scene they all got pretty drunk on wine ..but also they didn't really serve any food. Just shows you how film making is done. Its like a magician's trick. They do enough to get you to believe what the reality is but behind the scenes they edit things together like the house party, dinner location and cable car all to weave a story. Where Eagle's Dare with Clint Eastwood was sort of like this shoot as well. It was still fun to see and looks like a breath taking place to visit. Thanks for posting!!!!
The cast from the last christmas video have just filmed a tv show for UK where they revisit that location. Pepsi & shirley were just on This morning talking about it. I think it aired yesterday on BBC2. Its called Wham Last christmas unwrapped. I havent watched it yet. ua-cam.com/video/cYCcs4NvGDI/v-deo.html
I just saw that interview with them and they said a monument / statue honoring Wham has been inaugurated there, so from now on there's a landmark that would help the people to find the house easily!
