underrated video - I love how the image changes fit with the rhythm of the music, and the order of images almost seems to be telling a story, like this video is one full dream
Weirdcore transcends the early 2000s. I'd echo what the other commentors are saying and say that frutiger aero is more so 2000s. Personally, frutiger aero disturbs me though lol. It's nostalgic to a point where it hurts, and the style is associated with so many memories from a bygone time that being reminded of it just hurts lol.
theres probably gonna be a weirdcore or vaporwave but for the 2010s soon imo. Also i feel like weirdcore and vaporwave are a bit like viewing the past from the perspective of being a small child like around 3 years old.
This video feels like I’m being shown around a mystical dimension by a cheerful and benevolent spirit who is excited to show me its world and manages to keep me from the danger of Those Who Watch (the eyes)
Hate the terms "weirdcore" and "dreamcore". Especially with the obnoxious text thrown all over the images just to make it seem more "eerie". The images would be better when left untampered and on their own. Otherwise great vid, love that the image changes follows the beat of the song.
i often agree with this sentiment, though ive seen some images where the text is used to very good effect specifically "i found this old, old picture of you", that line sets off monkey neurons in my brain
@@VirtuaVirtue I agree that, if used tactfully, it can enhance a picture. But a lot of them just try too hard, or just come off as corny or cringe. Very few I found where the text is either alright or good. I'd say the best ones are the ones that try to emulate that "found picture" vibe, similar to yours, but it isn't directly addressing a person. It's just details that kind of give a "background" to the image. Like, for example, let's say it's a liminal image with something unidentified in the background, and it says "1999 - UNKN PROJECT 001" or something. That adds character. It enhances it by adding incomprehensible data that isn't understood but still ominous. It doesn't go extra, it doesn't use special quirky fonts, it just leaves you with more questions than answers. That's how liminal should be in my opinion.
Pretty good video and lots of cool images, but the amount of images with text over it really started to bug me by the end. Just seems like it’s trying too hard to be weird or mysterious and just totally takes me out of it.

Yes he fucking dies
Kinda feels like what vaporwave would be like for the 2000s instead of the 80s/90s
And that's the better 'wave' if you ask me. 90s and early 2000s have so much more potential for it.
it named frutiger aero
search up "frutiger aero" thats the 2000s vaporwave

I love how the images blend with the music, like how the images get darker at the darker part of the song
I feel like aphex twin is becoming the soundtrack to frutiger aero and 2000s core and I couldn’t ask or hope for anything better ❤️
atopos

Same! My favorites are Fingerbib and Mookid

weirdcore is the anarchist artistic response to frutiger aero.
Nah, its more like ying and yang. Frutiger aero represents the vision, weirdcore represents what was

Huh. This is the first one of these videos I've seen that seemed to have a narrative of a sort.

I agree. Sometimes the text and all the effects ruin the vibe of the photo and it seems more like a meme or something
Weirdcore Images without text are better imo

If these images were on a different subreddit it would’ve def be a shitposting content.
