Although I don’t disagree with you I do it was kinda odd how halfway through the performance they stopped playing and simultaneously yelled “WE DEM BOYS!”
A proper chair player was likely too expensive for them to hire and include in the band. It takes such specific training, I'm not surprised they're missing it at all 🤭
to me, the star of this performance has to be the drummer. After hearing this version i realize the original lacks texture on the drum department, the drummer's Interpretation maintains the track original vibe while adding a dynamic grove. i really enjoyed it!

@@intellikat the percussion in the original track is seemingly made with random sound effects(things that sound like a lighter igniter, a chair being dragged, etc). it's a novel concept but it doesn't really come together super well - the sounds are too disparate to sound as good as a regular drum kit and they're too repetitive and rigidly arranged to really take advantage of their unusual sound
they took the first horn section from Taylor Haskins , the sax part and the guitar solo is not there but there is a studio recording of that give it a listen
I'd never imagined _Alberto Balsalm_ as a jazz song, but this just sounds 10,000% correct, like it had always been a jazz song all along. Very cool cover, my dude :3
