This has a feel like nothing else. Kind of nostalgia mixed with the inevitability of life that nothing ever changes and you’re just a tiny insignificant part of the grand total. You just live and do what you do and you're ok with it
At this point I don't know how many times I've returned to this video, but I think a thank you is warranted at this point... So thank you for making this
I am so alone. Have so many stories to tell, so many experiences to share, no one to share them with except reminisce in them by myself. This song is what I feel when I had an eventful day but I'm still all alone when I'm going to sleep, praying to god that I may have the privilege of sharing my life with someone one day. I just hope it's not too late when I finally do meet someone. This song makes me feel at peace
As a big fan of Takeshi Kitano and Aphex Twin let me just thank you for the incredible skill you put into editing the song to scenes from this movie which I am now massively intrigued in watching. Videos like this are like a gift from on high.
It's fascinating to see what people come up with when interpreting Aphex Twin. Most of the time they are really interesting. Just like this. Really cool editing. I've never seen the movie, but it feels like I kind of got the plot. If the timeline in the movie is linear you made it way more interesting with your edits.
I've watched this like ten times, then watched the movie, and I'm still visiting this. High key a masterpiece. Didn't think the movie would be as good as this video, but it was. But at the same time, this edit is in another genre all together. I love how this video doesn't spoil anything about the movie, but even after watching the movie, the impact of this edit doesn't change. 10/10
One of my all time favorite fan music videos. Sonatine fits the mood of this rather amorphous song pretty well and the editing you did on the thing makes it even better and weirder.
Aphex Twinのこの曲+たけし、というだけで、もうびっくりですね。ナイーブなやさしさと、根源的な暴力性のミックスが、マシュマロ入りナッツチョコアイスのようにあなたを襲う。素晴らしいMV。 Just think of this song by Aphex Twin + Takeshi, and you'll be amazed. The mix of naive gentleness and fundamental violence hits you like nutty chocolate ice cream with marshmallows. Great music video. 隻要想想Aphex Twin + Takeshi的這首歌,你就會大吃一驚。天真的溫柔和基本的暴力混合在一起,像堅果巧克力冰激淩加棉花糖一樣衝擊著你。偉大的音樂視頻。
Thank you so much for making this. The way the footage of the film, the scenes of simple joy in the face of a harsh and grinding world matches the the gentle beauty laced in between hard percussion is near perfection. I revisit this so often, and it touches me every time.

This video is incredibly touching to me somehow. I liked the song before, but after watching this my feelings about the song completely morphed and gave me new appreciation. The way the film is shot makes me think of my childhood
Great job, the music and video complement each other so well, the duality of tragedy and beauty life gives us comes across from both. Also the editing is sooo good!
This song always feels like youre on the brink of something but also nothing at the same time. It has like, that persistent progression but it never really hits a climax- if that makes any sense. Its really beautiful in the way that it almost captures the mundane. The mundane, in all its simplicity and torment. Basically, it captures so many emotions in a very natural way- the everyday ups and downs of life. When I listen to it, I always think of someone feeling so many intense and overwhelming emotions but keeping them all inside a calm and collected body. It kind of reflects the idea of being close to just going crazy- with the constant progression in the music- but ultimately never releasing it, which shows in the fact that this song never reaches a beat drop, or climax- despite the times when I think RDJ kind of sets one up. I think it's called an anti-drop, or something similar- I dont really remember. What a masterpiece though! I'll love this song forever! ♾️
really love how the editing in this video manages to manipulate the tone of many scenes given they are out of context here in comparison to when watching the film
I think Takeshi got the role because he was sleeping with the director. :) Also, he's the only actor I know who can have half of his face paralyzed and it not affect his acting performance.
